We stayed for two nights earlier this year in the Garden Studio - during the winter, but it was very mild and so we had doors & windows open most of the time and were able to sit outside with an evening drink. It's right behind the main house but is very private and faces out onto the peaceful garden.... More

Eco-friendly lodges (choice of three units) hidden in the bush far enough from the road to be quiet yet close enough to be able to walk into town. Lovely helpful owners, Gen & James have lived in on the property for years and know all the best places. Have stayed there three times now, and are shortly to book again;... More

This is the Coromandel and so one expects to encounter native bush, eco-friendly houses and equally friendly craftspeople such as potters or artists. Fern Lodge meets all these expectations, on the northern edge of Coromandel town, down a bush-fringed driveway. The studio we occupied was well-equipped and had some eco-friendly touches -- among them: no nasty chemical cleaning smells, soap... More

Wow where does one start. Peaceful relaxing quant. The owners are beautiful friendly charming hosts tucked in bush surroundings and you think you are the only ones here. I would have trouble staying anywhere different. Ray is a interesting character and we'll know in the town and boy dies he love his town. Ask him anything and he will know... More

We stayed in the Treehouse at Fern Lodge. It was a homely hideaway with all the basic necessities and situated about a 20 minute walk from the main street. The house itself had nooks to cosy up with a book and a deck outside to watch the sunset. We only stayed here for 3 nights but I wished it was... More

Stayed there for three nights in mid Feb. Greeted by Ray, great host, engaging, full of information. We were in the Tree House. Spacious, good beds, great shower. It's aptly named "Tree House" . Surrounded by trees and vegetation with all the birds and even a Possum during the night. It's certainly quite different from the normal corporate type accommodation.... More

My friends, who have stayed here on several occasions, took me to this wonderful hideaway place for three nights - and what a fabulous place it is. We stayed in the Tree House and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There were two bedrooms and the beds were super comfortable and clean. Plenty of wardrobe/drawer space was... My bride and I spent part of our honeymoon here, lovely quiet place, the studio unit was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and helpful, not that we saw much of them. Overall a very pleasant experience. Thank-you.
