check-in was easy. staff was helpful and friendly and eager to help. Staff could not be more friendly and attentive to your needs. Specialty restaurants were great. I highly recommend going over to Serenity for dinner AWESOME service & food was great too.
My husband and I have been travelling with another couple for 25 years and have been to many Caribbean Islands and many all inclusive resorts over those years. CCB has become a favorite. The resort staff are wonderful as is the resort itself. Reminds me of the old Caribbean as opposed to the new, very large over the top resorts being built now where you need a trolley to get around. Our room was on the 1st floor, was spacious and well appointed, kept very clean by Sam, Tricia and Regina. We left notes back and forth and anything we needed was promptly provided. Thank you all. We were able to secure reservations at all the restaurants, (Allana at the reservations desk was very helpful) our favorite was the Veranda, out side with beautiful views. In the morning it is adults only order off a menu with top notch servers Saybianna and Cathy. They greeted us every morning with wonderful smiles. On our last nite we had a wonderful dinner there with great service also. Just loved the atmosphere! The evening entertainment in the lobby was top notch. Kudos to all the entertainers. The country and western nite was so much fun, set up outside by the main pool with the best C & W band ever. My friend and I attended the Yoga class and water aerobics with Vernon. He is a great Yoga instructor and a drill Sargent in the pool. Always challenging and funny at the same time. We miss you Vernon. The pools were great and halfway through the week we discovered Paradise Beach. What a great, fun spot. Christine at the bar made the best dirty bananas and Marvius (he is a gem, remembers everyone) and makes the best cheeseburgers and fish sandwiches. He a true great employee and spokesperson for the resort. Yes, there is seaweed but the resort does the upmost best to remove it. We all swam in the ocean at Paradise and it was perfect, wavy and warm with some seaweed but certainly not that bad. I live in the Northeast and every August it rears it's ugly head. Cannot stop mother nature but the resort does try. Lastly, Chard, our server at Calabash was wonderful and helped us celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary and a birthday. So in conclusion CCB is a great resort. We stayed on the Harmony side but I met a yo teenager who told me he loved the place and was having a great vacation, he was on the Splash side and it was lively there. Hoping to see everyone again in January 2022.…
Visit number 11. It is truly your home away from home the staff make you feel exactly that way. Sherina and Emmie in coconut walk restaurant the smile the welcome every day makes you feel at home. The resort is clean and well kept, yes the sagassum/sea weed (what ever you want to call it!🤣) it there it’s nature and the hotel clean it away I swam in the sea everyday. In this crazy world right now this hotel brings some balance and paradise to the world. Visit number 12 yes please😎
Best tropical vacation we have ever had!! Coconut Bay resort has EVERYTHING you could possibly want. There are 2 waterside, a lazy river, paintball field, basketball, tennis, pickle ball, pools, bars, restaurants and the beach! The entertainment staff were AMAZING!! Hosè and Gillie had games and activities going every day. Marz made the best drinks at the swim up bar and the staff at the buffet were incredible. The buffet was delicious every time with an incredible selection of food prepared with quality ingredients. You won't go hungry here. You can get something to eat from 7am to 1am!! The theme nights were a blast too. This resort exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to go back!!!
Great time Overall but most memorable moment was the entertainment throughout the days! Zora one of the entertainment people that work was great and always made everyone laugh/ and enjoy the time more
Here is an honest review - the resort is fine… not bad but not awesome either. First the good stuff - food was really good… even the outside theme nights that was served bbq/buffet style - the resort was clean, especially the outdoor spaces like the pools - right amount of daily entertainment to keep our pre-teen kids entertained without being annoying for people trying to ‘relax’ at the pool - such an easy transfer from the airport! - the entertainment staff was great especially with our kids Here is the not so great stuff: - rooms are small and dated. They certainly did the job (and were clean as I said before) but definitely not luxurious. The balcony is very small and furniture is uncomfortable. Beds were uncomfortable. - this is not a place to come for the beach. The water is rough and the beach is covered in sea grass. The resort tries so hard to deal with it but to no avail. If you are looking for a clean, calm white sand beach this is not the place. - the attitude of staff was really hit or miss. Some were great, some acted like they were annoyed by our very existence. - the video on the website is simply not an accurate reflection on the current state of this place. While we had a good week we won’t be back. The reality is that if you’ve only ever previously stayed at more basic all inclusives you will be very impressed by this place. But if you’ve stayed in true 4.5/5 star resorts (eg Beaches or Hotel Xcaret) you will be left disappointed. Again Cocunut Bay is fine… not bad… but definitely not awesome.…
My partner and I were at Coconut Bay for 7 nights in early March. We had a great time and would absolutely return. Food – - Very good; we didn’t have a bad meal - 2 fine dining restaurants that require a reservation (the Verandah and Calabash). Both had good menus and food was excellent! Sherelee was our server at both; she is very good at what she does with good attention to detail. Dress is a step above casual; men had to wear long pants. - Third restaurant Trattoria needed reservations. It is Italian fare and not open every night but we were not able to get a reservation to eat there. - Fourth restaurant needing reservations was an Asian menu. Also very good. - Buffet for breakfasts, lunches, and suppers. Menus were all food we recognized and cooked well. Lots of selection. Breakfasts offered lots of fruit, smoothie bar, eggs/omelets cooked to your preference, waffle bar, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, lots of fruit, yogurt, etc. Lunch offered a pizza bar, pasta bar, fruit, lots of fruit and a buffet of hot dishes, desserts. Supper had a stir-fry bar, a buffet of hot dishes, roast turkey or beef carved, soup, breads/rolls, desserts. Something for everyone - A fast-food restaurant (Flip Flops) open pretty much all the time with snacks, fruit, drinks to go. Great to pick up something to eat if you are in a hurry or on the run, or in a bathing suit. - Self-serve coffee/tea available in the lobby; kept stocked Accommodations- - We were in room 204 on the Splash side; it had a good view of the pool deck and ocean. It was close to what the pictures on the website look like - It was up to date and clean. Ceiling fan was noisy and we had to shut it off at night and run the A/C. - We had an attendant come everyday to refresh the towels and bottled water in the fridge and make the bed. - Hardly any bugs. No screens on windows or on the patio door. - Room had a nice balcony - There was a small safe in the room to keep valuables. Resort - The resort is quite large with lots of coconut palms, bushes, foliage. All well maintained. - It has 2 sides – Harmony for adults only with their own pool. On the other side of the open-air lobby is Splash which is for families. - There are at least 3 pools but they are all only 4’ deep max. That way they don’t have to have lifeguards I guess. - And yes, there is the resident dog that wanders the property. A cat too. But neither seem to bother anyone and are fine with children. The dog kept stealing the ping pong balls and running off with them! If you didn’t encourage the dog, it would leave you alone. But it did get a lot of attention. - The washrooms on the resort were well located and all kept clean and maintained. - The lazy river seemed to be a hit with all ages. - Water slide for young and old was well used. - 3 minutes from the Hewanorra airport where Delta, Air Canada, JetBlue, American Airlines and British Airways fly into. - Shuttle was available to and from the airport - A St. Lucia tourist tax of $84 we had to pay when we checked out. It seems that all resorts now charge some kind of fee now. - The resort is all all-inclusive. Nice to not have to carry a purse or wallet and to be able to order anything you want and not have to be concerned with the cost. Tips are expected though and we spent over $150 in the week with the room attendant, restaurant servers, bartenders, and shuttle drivers. American money was the norm. - No evidence that the resort is operating or making decisions ‘on the cheap’ in order to cut costs. - A number of TV stations available. Two from Ontario – CBC Toronto and City News. Staff - Staff were all well-groomed and presented well. They were friendly and helpful for the most part. - There seemed to be enough staff to do the various tasks. - Never an unreasonably long line-up at the bars or for restaurants. - Staff all spoke English and were easy to communicate with. Beach - Unfortunately the beach was a disappointment due to the Sargassum seaweed in the water and on the beach. Nothing the resort can do about it as it is a problem pretty much everywhere in the Caribbean. The resort continually raked the beach but it was a losing battle. Given the resort is on the ocean side of the island, it is windy most days and the water is rough with 2’ to 3’ waves. Not suitable for children. The waves cause the water to be dirty and with the seaweed problem, a swim was not really a pleasant experience. Otherwise, the beach area is good with lots of lounge chairs, shade, a bar, burger hut and washrooms. - We didn’t mind that it was windy most days as that helped counter the 27 degree temperature and intense sun. - A water sport area is available for those who want to kite surf, wind surf or paddle, etc - Lots of pool towels; always able to get one. Excursions - We did not leave the resort and take any excursions so I can’t comment on those other than to say there were some available. They required a minimum number of participants in order to run. Entertainment - Twice a week the staff clear the main pool deck and remove the umbrellas and lounge chairs about 3 p.m. They set up tables with linen tablecloths, chairs and bring the buffet outside. Tuesday night is country and western night with the buffet and a live band. I was impressed with the band that played; they were very good and a pleasure to listen to. Saturdays they do it all over again for Caribbean Carnival night with the outdoor buffet and band. - There were pool tables and ping pong tables available - Karaoke night and a few nights of other entertainment with singers in the open-air lobby. - All was always quiet by 11 pm Suggestions: - Update the Coconut Bay website and delete/update the COVID information. No masks are required now, nor is testing. The dated info on the website is confusing for travelers. - I would have liked to have learned about the island of St. Lucia while we were there, but not necessarily leave the resort for a tour, although some might like that. I am thinking of a local person coming to the resort some morning at 9:30 a.m. for an hour or, perhaps with a video showing highlights from the island, and speak about the island’s culture, history, geography, economy, farming, the capital city, hurricane season/rainy season and when they are, and answer questions. …
Decided to get married in St. Lucia (off resort) with our after-party at the resort based on Trip Advisor reviews. The wedding organizers, Mia and Onida were great and made sure everything went off without a hitch. We were greeted at the airport by a pleasant gentleman who arranged for us to get to the resort. The airport is so close to the resort which is fabulous after a day of flying. The welcome and check-in at the resort was wonderful and efficient. Weather was great every day we were there and the sargassum wasn’t too bad. Beach days were spent down the beach near the beach bar and burger hut where there was the least sargassum. Food was really good everywhere and we treated ourselves to La Luna which was a fabulous addition. Our server, Gina was phenomenal! Spa services for hair, makeup and later a couples massage were amazing and professional. All very pleasant to work with and so accommodating. My husband was so impressed with his massage seeing as he usually cannot get a deep enough massage prior this experience. I loved the size of the resort as it wasn’t so big and crowded. We had 23 of us for the wedding and we were easily able to find each other daily. If you would forget something in your room it wasn’t a daunting task to go back and grab it. We all did the land and sea excursion which was great and gave us a chance to see some of St Lucia off the resort- catamaran, snorkeling/swimming, mud bath, waterfall. Lunch was “eh” but local Caribbean fair which was great to try. The cons: the rooms are indeed dated and a couple of our guests had to change rooms due to a musty smell. The bed, for me, was miserably hard and I didn’t sleep well the whole week. The plastic pillows and bed cover didn’t help but probably necessary to avoid musty smells. The housekeeping was OK but not great. They made our bed daily and brought new towels but I’ve been to resorts where the room is spic and span when we get back and not really the case here. U.S. outlets limited but probably enough for most couples. WiFi very spotty even if you pay to upgrade. Just leave your phone in your room and enjoy the resort. Dinner reservations added stress to what should be a stress-free vacation. Needed to be on top of getting reservations made 2 days ahead of time if you wanted to get in. And really needed to be in line to make said reservations when they opened in the morning, especially with bigger parties. Couples only are likely easier to get in. We only ate as one big group once (with exception to the wedding dinner we payed extra for) and that had to be arranged by Mia, the wedding coordinator ahead of time, though she could not guarantee me it could happen until a couple weeks before our wedding. Finally, I gotta say I was disappointed in the attitude of the staff. After reading so many reviews on how amazing the staff were, they often weren’t very friendly. Not rude, per se but not friendly and welcoming like I’ve experienced at every other resort. More curt, I guess. We tip regularly so that really surprised me. The only exception was Gina at La Luna and we only met her our last night there! We made reservations for a dinner at Silk and accidentally made the reservation for one fewer person than we showed up with. It only meant adding an extra chair to our existing table. 3 separate times it was brought up to us about the difficulty of that for them and how important it is to make the correct reservation. So be sure to get it right! During our ONE dinner all together, the reservation was made at Calabash by our wedding coordinator and they have a strict dress code for men to wear pants. Dress shorts are not acceptable. This turned out to be an issue for our son who seriously doesn’t own any pants besides jogging pants. They indeed made a big deal of his dress shorts, wanting him to leave and change clothes, even stating they would’ve preferred he show up in jogging pants! Seriously? People are on vacation here in the Caribbean and shouldn’t be expected to bring long pants to wear to dinner! Dress shorts (not cutoffs or cargo shorts) and nice shirt should be acceptable EVERYWHERE. So, my experience was good. Not very good, not excellent, but good. Likely we won’t be back to that resort for vacation but it certainly helped make my wedding day what I had hoped for. There are tons of very positive reviews and obviously CB meets the expectations of many. …
Loved it. Loved it. It was inclusive so I need to worry everything was provided on the resort. Fun fun in the sun. Entertainment was great. Shops and flea market available on certain days. Plenty things to do for kids. Oh yeah there's a friendly dog known as the resort mascot
What a great resort! Beautiful, friendly, relaxing, delicious food and drink! Also plenty of opportunities to go in whatever type of excursion you may want! We took our three teenagers and made wonderful memories together at Coconut Bay!
