We popped in for an evening meal while staying in Carrbridge for the night after the host at the Fairwinds hotel recommended it. The prices were very, very good which had me wondering if the quality would be up to scratch by my portion of haddock and chips was not only huge but tasted absolutely brilliant, if I am passing... We had hoped to get a table in the busy bar but had to through to the dining room which was no big deal. The decor is a little dated but the place is clean and the food is great, a decent menu of good value home cooked meals. The draught beer is excellent as is the service.

We wanted a pub lunch in a dog-friendly place so used the good ole Internet to find this place (we were staying close by to Aviemore). The place was empty when we first arrived and we ensconced ourselves by the fire with 6 humans and 2 dogs. The boys were immediately brought water and a promise of biscuits (unfortunately they... Stayed 1 night in a single room, owners and staff very friendly , cant fault it ,the bar is a bit small but i had no problems, it gets very busy about 7pm , needs a bit of a update but apart from that it was good

What a great place to stay , the staff and regulars are just wonderful. So accommodating, where a lot are not if you are wearing leathers. The beer and food is simply great, and the rooms are just what you need , clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will be back again . Thank you all .

What a lovely hotel this is. The owner Gareth is so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, bed was comfy (one of the best sleeps I have had while away from my own bed!) and it was nice and quiet. The breakfast was delicious (mostly from local produce). The food provided in the restaurant in the evening was... More

Some of the rooms are just above the kitchen and with the extractor fan buzzing just next to your window and the smells it feels like you are in the kitchen. Not very pleasant. The rooms are quite shabby and look as if the have not been decorated since 1970's.

A very warm welcome and great local knowledge at this sweet and simple hotel, right at the heart of a lovely village. Lots to do near by. We stayed for a comfortable few days in a family room and had everything we needed. Generous breakfast!

In fairness a quaint enough pub and the beers are well kept and there is a reasonable range available. Our meal on the first night was reasonably good, on the second disappointing. The pool table is badly placed almost alongside the bar, there is a shortage of seating for diners. As the only pub and evening diner in the village... More

We stated here for 2 nights in May . Had very small back double room , painted in a dark grey colour , made the room look even smaller . Attic shaped room so bumped my head on getting out of bed and putting the kettle on . Tiny on suite bathroom with just 1 set of towels . Comfy... More
