We booked a table for two for the Sunday Carvery.Nobody made us feel welcome or directed us to the carvery area! The owner was working the carvery and i was not impressed with the general cleanleness of his clothing and the surrounding area. The roast itself was pretty good with giant yorkshire puds and crispy roast potatoes but what let it down...

Where to start? From the freezing cold room, threadbare carpet, broken kettle, rubbish left in the bins, broken bathroom fittings, tatty decor, the most revolting breakfast sour milk, bacon the was so overcooked the rashers were welded together (I did wonder if they had been cooked the day before and warmed up) I couldn't cut through them. The owner was...

Eleven of us ate there on the 19th February. There was a lovley friendly atmosphere as soon we walked in. A log fire was burning, which added to the atmosphere. There was a good selection of wine and beers on offer and as soon as the last of our party appeared we were shown to our table. The waitressess were...

We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights, a huge comfortable bed, lovely and clean and very comfortable. The staff and Tony the owner were all great, not forgetting Tyson the dog. The bar is great, the breakfast was excellent!! The food is excellent, and I need to mention, that Tony who was cooking the meals, would go to great...

The hotel has a 'old worldly' feel about the place. Good restaurant and bar. Good choice of beers and ciders .Food very good, both nights I stayed, I had steak which was perfectly cooked to my liking. Full range English breakfast. My room, Number 1, was a large double room, full of character. Uneven floor added to the quaintness of...

We had a really wonderful evening on Saturday night at The Dusthole. The food really is home cooked and is very, very good. Both dinner and breakfast was absolutely delicious. The very cosy atmoshphere in this gorgeous old pub is completely down to the owner Tony and his lovely staff.

I visited on Saturday night around 8pm. Less than a dozen people in the bar but service was slow when ordering drink. 4 choices for vegetarians, I ordered the tomato and brie tart. Advertised as served with fresh veg. Technically, they may have been right but they should say salad if they mean salad. Dish cost £11.50, cider £3.75, frankly...

Our 3 night stay was wonderful. Tony is a wonderful host has a wealth of local knowledge. The food is excellent and very good value. We stayed in cabin number 1 which was very warm and comfortable. Must also mention Tyson who also made us feel very welcome. Planning another visit very soon.

This was our second stay here, booked directly with Tony for same room, room number one, the bed is very comfy, the floorboards are negotiable with care...especially at the end of the bed! Lovely big room, plenty of space overlooking the front of the hotel. The dinner was enormous, the ambience good and breakfast was okay, self service, but plenty...

In need of a complete redecoration, this place should be closed down and some money spent on it. The room was tatty, the bed uncomfortable and the shower hardly worked. Breakfast was a dried up self service in an untidy setting with dogs hanging around outside. Only plus point is the beer is decent, but that's about it.
