Just off the busy Western Road in Hove, with all the shops and restaurants you could need, plus an excellent bus service, this small pub has some of the best rooms we have stayed in, and that has been quite a few. The decor is modern, the bed really comfy and the en-suite shower room is great. Sue and the... More

Little locals pub down a side street, nice enough but we were a bit dubious - but absolutely no need to be. Room really nicely done, couldn't fault the presentation, all done out really well especially the bathroom. Ok the room was small ish but absolutely fine for a night or three. Particularly liked the generous breakfast selection: fresh croissants,... More

My partner and I visited Brighton for a couple of days and couldn't have asked for a better base for us to stay. We felt very welcome and the location is great! Also the bed is extremely comfortable. Thumbs up from the both of us.

We have spent 2 nights at the Bow street runner. Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. Sue and all her staff are lovely and made us feel so very welcome as did all the pub regulars. A lovely place to stay and we will definitely be back next year.

We are local and walk the dog nearby. The welcome and traditional local feel is not often found these days but if that is what you want visit the fantastic Bow Street Runner. Doggy friendly which is always and bonus in the centre of Brighton. You will leave with a smile.

Loved the location, the privacy and the fabulous welcome. It's lovely to stay somewhere so central yet so private and personable. The bar area was friendly and vibrant (well they were getting ready for a busy Pride weekend). Having lived in Brighton for many years and then moving away it was lovely to be central and able to come and... More

We booked here for a 3 night stay with friends and had rooms 2 and 3 on the top floor. There was a lovely welcome from the owner and staff and the room was very clean. A drink in the evening in the bar before and after some fantastic meals up on Western Road was a most enjoyable experience. The... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary. We had a few drinks in the pub below which was so friendly, everyone was inviting even the resident dog came over for belly tickles. I would recommend this B&B to any of my friends and family, such a reasonable price also.

Returning to this lovely b+b after 4 years and pleasantly surprised to see nothing had changed! The landlady sue and her staff all very welcoming, the rooms clean and comfortable and a good pint at the bar! The location of this pub is perfect for the beach and the lanes are not far away with some lovely restaurants and quirky... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A small traditional pub in a side street of Hove just off of the main thoroughfare that links Brighton and Hove, the pub has no food, no Sky TV, no loud music and no gaming machines, just a pub, BLISS! Originally called the Station Inn the earliest record as a pub was 1867 and was originally the Brunswick Police and Fire Station hence the name. There is a stark difference between the old pub and the modern guest rooms. I took the pub over in 2010 and converted the living accommodation to 3 en-suite rooms. I am helped by a great team, our manager Warren, Gervase, Maggie, Kevin and Simon in the bar and Wendy with the rooms. They all make our guests welcome as do our pub customers and Beau (our dog). Unfortunately, due to the age and nature of the property, access for some people may be difficult. If you have any special needs please give us a call to find out if we are able to accommodate you. ... more   less
