Be very careful with booking the Manici hotel. We have made a reservation early February and paid for 3 rooms in advance. Checked last week and seems that the hotel changed owners and none of the previous bookings are valid anymore. No room and no refund. Our holiday trip is ruined and nobody takes ownership. We have made a complaint to the hotel federation as this is bad customer service.
The hotel decorations are simple and beatuiful; they preview your stay here in the city center, right close to the Bazaar, Abraham's cave, etc. Beds are fine, and they will accommodate your needs as best they can. The breakfast is simple and quite good. I've seen other reviews knocking this hotel, but frankly many of those people should have opted for much higher priced lodging to get what they desire in a hotel.
The hotel is sited within walking distance to a lush park, with its signature attraction Balikligol. It's the only place in the city where you get pools, running water, grass and trees, besides its historical significance of Abraham's cave and Abraham's Pool. Manici hotel is an old converted building, which adds to its charm. Within, it's been decorated with an eye to tradition, with paintings on the walls, table lamps and a colorful decor. The elevator is one of those old fashioned ones where you need to open the door yourself. There's an internal courtyard with fountain within the building, where you can have breakfast. It's much better than the spacious but gloomy dining area within. All the rooms are different, because of the nature of the building. My room on the second floor was a corner room. It was very spacious, with a double bed and a third single person bed. Attached bathroom, with hot/cold shower in the shower area. Overall, it's a very good place to stay because of its location next to the park. Just outside there are many local restaurants and the bazaar for shopping.…
I will be very to the point: the location of the hotel is great, right across Balikligol. But other than this, the hotel is a disappointment for Turkish tourism. Room was smokey, every single electronic device (air condition, bathroom condition, fridge) in the room was so noisy, I couldnt sleep until morning. Towels were the worst- smells like damp. Breakfast was decent. We fall for pictures, but we should have done our search better.
The hotel lobby looks ver nice. Breakfast was very simple, no variety. The room was big enough. The bathroom needs renovation asap. The bathroom door had a huge hole on the backside. The shower was full of mold. The sink was not stable at all. The faucet was completely broken. We couldn't take shower because there was no hot water at all.
