Nice location in the forrest, but still a 15min drive to giethoorn. Despite what the name suggests...
The hotel itself is dated. Rooms are very basic. Due to corona amount of staff was limited, although very friendly and helpful they were overloaded to get everyone diner and breakfast.
Breakfast and dinner quality wise were ok. Which turned by 2 stars rating into 3.

First the room. Nice room paid for an upgrade. Good shower heating was old fashioned but the room was clean. Two chair, but only coffee facility no tea , asked for kettle and tea and had very quick service.

Restaurant

Well mixed reviews. The first day stay all went well as we were a bit apprehensive about the food from the reviews. However the first night meal was great. Staff very attentive but only two in the restaurant and they were run off their feet but good and attentive service and food was good. See photos below
Breakfast next morning buffet styled still ok .

Swimming pool used by local kids ok but did not use.

Second night and the whole thing collapsed. Meal ordered and took an hour to come. Drinks forgotten as well. When we asked where are meal was the man was apologetic and came rushing out apparently it was standing waiting . It was warm and edible. The waitress forgot us completely. No word of sorry and I know they were busy. Breakfast the next morning. No hot food and had to wait. One young man serving. However not the hotel fault a lot of people not wearing mask and I find that not acceptable as they know the rules.

So good location and I can imagine it’s beautiful in summer.

Disappointed but the hotel is understaff so that was the reason for some of the problems.

Would we go back. No

It's your chance to enjoy the hotel service, enjoy the tranquility and sound of nature due to the hotel's location within the forest.

But there's a lot of mosquito inside rooms and no Air conditions available 😢

This hotel was a huge let down, its old and its not looked after for years (thats how it feels).

We were going to celebrate our anniversery and thought it looked great on the pictures and 4 stars is always 4 stars.

Our first room had a carpet full of stains, big stains and they looked old. Bathrum looked fairly renovated, but there was a smell of sewer in there.

The wallpaper was lose on several places and it looked like it was damaged by water.

Our second room had similar issues, hard floor so no stains but sewer smell in the bathroom, walls dirty, a big hole was repaired with filler but not painted, a big wooden board covering one of the doors to balcony, it looked like a temporary and crappy fix.

It seem to us that the maintainance left a few years ago, or they have a shoe string budget, or they are not allowed to fix things. When reception, with not a second of doubt hands us a towel to cover the shower drains and a bottle of perfume then you know this is something they do all the time. INstead of fixing the issue, give the customers perfume!

It can be seen everywhere, the tennis cours was overgrown, the lift made sounds and doors squeeked, the hallways looked old and dirty and there was a general feel of neglect.

Service was nice, and breakfast was good, but the rest, dont go there..

We arrived at 1230pm to be told that check in wasn’t until 3pm. I asked if they were Full and was told no rooms were clean. The hotel really is in the middle of nowhere so we drove 20 mins to the city to the local supermarket. When back at the hotel, now 2pm, I asked if any rooms were available yet. No I was told, no rooms are clean yet. The lady didn’t even look to see if any were ready. Then at 230pm some other guests arrived and were given keys straight away, I said to her, you said that rooms were not ready until three pm. She said they have just become available! All the rooms? Available at exactly the same time? Anyway, I’m pretty sure rooms were available but they were just being difficult. The restaurant is over priced for what’s on offer and the breakfast basic for the cost. The rooms are pretty old fashioned and need updating.

third time at a Fletcher hotel and it is our favourite; we enjoyed the food, the swimming pool and the staff kindness- except that guy at reception ! i must add that breakfast was delicious. A fridge in the room would have been an extra point.
Hope we will go back one day

Stayed here for one night when passing through the area on business. Room was very sparse & unwelcoming. Poorly lit. Very basic accommodation. Ate in the restaurant and the food was decent so no major complaints there. Staff all seemed quite welcoming and spoke English. I'd agree with previous comments though that it isn't a 4 star establishment as it claims.

The room was worn out but the restaurant was fine. Nice dinner - very good food but breakfast was really boring.
Good service in the reception.
Not much to do in the area except for renting bikes and go to Giethoorn.

My wife booked an introductory arrangement for my anniversary. She chose this hotel because we wanted to visit the famous Giethoorn waters. The hotel is not like his name suggests in Giethoorn, but in De Bult, about 15 km from Giethoorn. Nevertheless doable. The hotel is an ordinary building. The room was little, but clean. The view from our room was ugly (a roof). However, we got a free welcome drink and the personnel of this hotel is very friendly. There is a nice indoor swimming pool with a good temperature of the water and a sort of yacuzzi. The 3 course menu in the restaurant is OK. Breakfast buffet is OK, but normally you can expect a liitle bit more in a 4* hotel. The neighbourhoud is very beautiful and you can do a lot of walks. The free wifi is of excellent quality.
