This is certainly a budget hotel but none the worse for that as long as you know what to expect. I visited here with a young persons music group and we did not spend too much time here so it was not a problem. Rooms are pretty small and basic - I have not seen a non-TFT TV for years!...

food was poor and that's being kind. this is a budget hotel with a capital B. The staff are pleasant but it is clear the hotel is running on a shoe string. Rooms are clean but you can't spend too much time in them they are not relaxing or welcoming just very basic. The hotel is fine for a stop...

I can say that I enjoyed my 1 night stay in this Hotel last August 2014 as part of our Coach Tour. The place is a short distance from Amsterdam but I did not mind travelling as the view is great. There is a traditional village nearby which has a Marina and quaint little shops - walking in the streets...

We visited this hotel as part of a coach tour so we had no choice but to stay there. Had we read the reviews, it would not have been our top choice. The buildings are massive and I think the sheer size may have gotten away from the owners/managers. Our room was horrifically dirty - spider webs (with live spiders)...

I agree with previous reviewers, the Lake Land is a basic stop off for a touring holiday in the Amsterdam area. The food was absolutely adequate and plentiful especially the breakfasts. I would like to add that the fresh fluffy towels were a bonus and the little souvenir bag and postcard were a nice touch too. I stayed there for...

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, found food a bit basic but edible. I would visit again and recommend it to others. Stayed 1 September to 5 September 2014. Monnickendam is a lovely village with bars and restaurants and buses to Amsterdam, Edam, Zaanse Schans etc are just a short walk from the hotel. Bike hire is also available but they...

We stayed here for 4 nights from Monday 25th August-Friday 29th August. We arrived at 8.00pm and went straight in for our meal. The food was ok, but very basic. Usually soup for starters, which tasted the same each night regardless of what it was, followed by a buffet style meal which consisted of 2 main meals and then vegetables...
