The staff is really kind and offered us un lunch paket instead of the breakfast becaus we were leaving early every day.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable
We chose this place as not many hotels on the coast actually offer a sea view from your room. This place did. But we requested a high floor room as we are light sleepers. We were placed on the first floor right above the entrance and next to the main stairwell. No apology (and honestly some attitude from the young woman at reception checking us in). Just that the hotel was full. We had booked and prepaid month in advance but they could not figure it out still.
The sauna had a broken steam room which smelled of urine. The dry sauna and infrared are quite small and must be booked in advance.
Breakfast was fine. Difficult to find tables at times so we started bringing trays up to our balcony instead. Much more enjoyable that way.
Having said that a/c worked well and there was sufficient storage space.
Housekeeping could do to wipe the shelves though, lots of dust and hair there.
location, service and rooms were fine, bit over priced but end of season.
quality overall of hotel is excellent, incl room.
bit disappointed in breakfast as included in 200 rate.
pretty basic and even dinner quality was average.
i would bring Food options to higher level to make this a real top place to stay.
On the plus side:
The rooms are very good, clean, well maintained, spacious bath rooms etc.
The location across from the beach (and views if you are facing the sea) is perfect, especially given that you are not in the village center but a five minute walk away.
The interior is tasteful, modern and comfortable.
But somewhow it failed to deliver on many little things:
- they took payment for the full amount of the stay before we could check in (because our rooms was not ready yet) I have only had this happen to me in cheap hostels
- the breakfast buffet is a perfect case study of food & beverage profit maximisation: mediocre coffee, mediocre cheese, choice of very plain yoghurts, cold cuts and cereals and fruit salads consisting of a combination of a lot of canned and a little fresh fruit. For undemanding tourists this probably ticks all the boxes but after paying the highest hotel rate in the village I felt short-changed.
- the restaurant is in the hotel and is not cheap but you cannot charge things to your room because they are (I think) a separate business. The menu has a wide variety of dishes but lacks imagination while the wine list is not poor but very limited with a small selection and nothing imaginative and not one desert wine.
If those shortcomings are no problem for you then this is a top hotel - as the mainly German customer base will confirm.
Nice restaurant nearby named ‘zilte zoen’.
