Strawberry Hill Hotel, Spa & Gardens, a 26-acre mountain top resort, is located in the heart of one of the world's most famous coffee-producing mountain ranges, Jamaica's Blue Mountains. Listed in the New York Times #1 bestselling book, 1,000 Places To See Before You Die, Strawberry Hill is 3100 feet above sea level and features one of the most awe-inspiring views of the Blue Mountains in one direction as well as the city of Kingston in the other. On a clear day, one can see up to 100 miles from the property's infinity-edge pool, and at night the city far below becomes a twinkling mirror of the night sky. The property's 12 Georgian-style cottages, spa, exotic gardens and restaurant offerings underwent an extensive refurbishment in October 2011.

My stay was amazing property vey well kept super clean great servers and housekeepers. I tried to contact the property to rebook recently and the communication via what’s app is horrible 2 star level super frustrating. I reached out to Front desk staff they told me to contact Resevations and no response. After letting front desk know that reservations was unresponsive they promised to have some one reach out , as you can guess never happened. So unprofessional for such a great property. Last person I spoke to was Paula what she said would happen, never happened still Haven’t been contacted days later. Stayed there more than once but frustrated enough to start looking else where.

Stayed here for six nights & so thrilled we did . We chose a basic Mountain View room which was gorgeous. The location of Strawberry hill is absolutely stunning & the views are breathtaking. The restaurant is wonderful, great breakfasts & evening meals . Super pool . The staff are all so lovely & so accommodating. It was nice to meet the general manager who greeted guests on many occasions while we were there & was genuinely interested in what guests had to say . We visited the nearby coffee plantation & walked into Irish town to visit the bar & coffee shop . I would have no hesitation recommending Strawberry Hill , a tip - visit the lower floor of the main building ( wow !) you’ll love this hotel . Nice little shop onsite too .

This was one of "bucket list" trips and it didn't disappoint. We began out 25th trip to Jamaica with a 3 night stay at Strawberry Hill. We stayed in "gong" and loved the view of Kinston from our terrace. The view of the Blue Mountains was breath taking and saw 3 different rainbows during our 3 day stay. I hope we make it back someday because we fell in love with this resort. Arville at the bar was wonderful as well as our greeter Davonte (sp?). We could not have asked for a more perfect start to our vacation

Absolutely stunning location - high in the hills above Kingston with fantastic views of the city and the hills. The gardens are beautiful. The room and facilities in the room need some improvement - compared to our last visit it was looking a bit neglected. We had no kettle (assume there should have been one) and it took 8 hours to be brought down by housekeeping. We had an electric blanket on one bed but not the other. We waited an hour at check in for them to change things over with the room - we had asked for twin beds and they had a double. That may be the reason our room wasn’t quite up to scratch as there wasn’t enough time to prepare it. Staff in the bar are lovely and efficient. Staff in the restaurant are pleasant but food took forever to arrive. It was very good when it did arrive. The general manager is very sweet and comes round every day to check all is ok. Basically the setting is unique and I would recommend a visit. But the general level of service needs a kick up the arse to warrant the high prices of a stay.

Nice welcome, with the best rum punch we have tasted. The house we got assigned was amazing. Very spacious and great view over Kingston. Next suprise was the infinity pool which is also great and a cool relaxing space. We were told that the food was special as well, but didn't perceive that as outstanding. At the resort many humingbirds are flying all over. It is well maintained and nice staff. Some things are a bit overpriced, like the massage (140 USD) and some appeared not to be available (like the High Tea). From the North it is quite a ride to get there, but if you have a helicopter, the hotel has a landing place for that. 😁 So overall, very luxurious. The hotel just needs to beware not to get too complacent and becoming faded glory.

What a wonderful place, stunning and spectacular scenery of the Blue Mountains. From where you can see Kingston quite on day time and lightening, lively during the nights. The personnel is kind, professional and the table is excellent. You can enjoy almost every day a great band playing classical reggae music and international songs. A must visit!

Given the price and description, I was expecting much more attentive service and an upscale room . I had to ask lots of questions to understand how to access the extras I booked. Don't expect a peaceful mountain retreat. Between the restaurant on site, the other guests, and neighbors down the hill, it was impossible to just enjoy the sounds of wildlife. The room itself was fine, but it should be about half the price. Next time I would come up for a day trip but stay in a quiet hotel in Kingston.

We rocked up at Strawberry Hill for the final night of our Jamaica holiday. The setting is gorgeous, high in the mountains, he view overlooking Kingston. The grounds are immaculate, beautifully tendered to. Our room was equally lovely, rustic charm best describes it. However, you have to be relatively fit to stay in strawberry Hill due to the amount of stairs you have to encounter to get to your room. But so worth it. Dinner was OK, not spectacular alas. Breakfast a little hurried. Lunch fine. My biggest complaint was when we returned to our room after dinner…about 10.30pm, there had been no turn down service (I know, first world problem!). The lack of turn down was in itself fine, I can swish bedcovers, but all the shutters were wide open. I fiddled about, unable to shut them, so had to call reception and duly someone arrived to help. Also our safe was broken. The manager, Ricardo, was very very hands on and a complete treasure. Without him at the helm, this resort would sink and I’d probably rated it 2 stars. Definitely an experience for the scenery alone but the hotel is certainly lacking in many departments and needs serious investment.

Firstly, let’s go for the positives of which there are many!… - mesmerising location. So tranquil. Views incredible and very quiet and peaceful - food was fantastic. Everything was fresh, well cooked and nice portions - stayed at birdshill, beautiful size, huge terrace, outdoor shower, outdoor day bed - all very relaxing - staff friendly and approachable - beautiful pool and pool area, fantastic views, so relaxing However, there were some things which we feel need improving in order to make this a better experience, some of which may not be relevant for everyone… - our cafetière was broken. Asked for replacement but not done. Had to ask Ricardo the GM before anything changed. Furthermore, no actual coffee in the room, had to go collect some from the restaurant (why provide a cafetière with no coffee?). Whilst I’m on the coffee point, don’t expect a decent espresso or cappuccino - machine in the restaurant broken. I mean it’s 2022 should t they just provide a nespresso machine in the room. Maybe it’s just me. - room was amazing but yeah, a little dated. The oven was from the 1970s. Needs a spruce up - cleaning not done one day, had to ask for it to be done, which to be fair it was - service was a little slow in the restaurant. I mean you’re on Jamaican time, so it really wasn’t an issue for us, but if you’re in a rush it might be frustrating All in all I would definitely stay again. You cannot replicate the atmosphere in the evening in the dinky lit restaurant with the amazing views. It’s special. And the whole stay, despite the niggles above, was unforgettable.

This place is too run down and off their service game: not really a deluxe property. For these prices you could have a much nicer stay elsewhere. ARRIVALS: I booked this in December, got a confirmation notice then a reminder just about a week before we arrived. No record of our reservation on arrival. It took 90 minutes to finally get into a room. Again, okay, mistakes happen, but not at these prices with this kind of pretense. ROOMS: Rustic, essentially open air, and pretty spartan - not necessarily a bad thing, but these rooms are way past prime and desperately need to be updated. Surprisingly dingy (see black mold picture attached) be ready for NO privacy: you can hear every sound in every room around you, and I mean EVERYTHING. Safe didn't work, called twice, they never came. Asked for mosquito net (dengue season here), never came. I could go on. Sorry, Strawberry Hill, you know you aren't what you are showing people online. FACILITIES: Pool is unique but old and cold. Nice bar, nice library, great views from every table. We spent pretty much the day at the pool on loungers. DINING: This was a real bright spot in terms of quality and service. Generous continental breakfast, dinners and lunches . ell done, servers attentive and experienced. DEPARTURES: Lots of stairs, called twice for bellhop but a no show, so up (count them) 8 flights of stairs. Check out was a disaster. Any major chain hotel in the United States has better, faster, friendlier and more efficient service.
