Built in the 17th century, Pentillie Castle is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Cornish banks of the River Tamar. Set on an estate that spans almost 2000 acres, the Castle offers luxurious B&B accommodation as well as exclusive hire for groups. All 9 bedrooms are en-suite (some with Victorian style roll-top baths!) offering views over the River Tamar and surrounding woodland. Relax in the Drawing Room where you can help yourself to a drink (or two!) from the honesty bar, sit out on the terrace or enjoy yourself in the Games Room. There is also a solar-heated outdoor swimming pool (open Apr-Sept). There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the local area, from fishing, cycling, hiking and golf to zip lining through the trees. Plymouth is only a 20 minute drive away.

We had our wedding at Pentillie Castle at the beginning of February and we stayed there two nights. The Dewhurst Suite was fabulous - and we couldn't have asked for more in terms of the size of the space and comfort. The staff at Pentillie were wonderful and went to great efforts to make sure we had the wedding we wanted and everything we needed. I can't fault them. The Castle grounds are fantastic and the wedding venue (the bathing hut) was so romantic. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast - and the food was great. Pentillie Castle is an elegant setting for any wedding or country escape!

The drive is stunning but its so close to Plymouth. It feels a million miles away from anywhere. Linda checked us in and was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were told to treat it like our own home which was s welcoming. We stayed in the Spencer which was huge! The bed was over sized and so comfortable I can honestly say it was one of the best nights sleep ever. Fantastic water pressure in the bathroom. The bathrooms was really big as well with such fluffy towels. We didn't get to walk around the gardens which was a shame. We'll definitely be back. Views at Breakfast were amazing - who knew they were there?! Breakfast was fabulous too recommend the eggs benedict! Should have stayed for a second night but will definitely be back. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!

Fantastic location, and excellent service from the Team, both prior to and on arrival. We hired Pentillie for a Christmas family gathering. Our second time. We were not disappointed. The estate and surrounding walks provides for excellent walking, and the Castle a very welcome return. I am looking forward to more opportunities to visit in the future.
