This is where I spent my first night in the Netherlands, and thought all hotels and restaurants will be so nice. Boy I was in for a surprise the next night I got to Amsterdam. Aristocratic milieu, compared to what awaited in the capital... :D

Hotel is located outside of the city Appingedam that is called as Venice of the nord. Hotel has one most buetiful room for honeymoners, I reccomend it room number 6. Unbelievable place. Hotel received... More

We spent a great time in Ekenstein. We enjoyed the dinner, excellent breakfast, with lots of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juices. Since we had a small problem with hot water on one day, we were very generously (over)compensated by the owner. Very good bikes can be used for free and I would really advise to explore the... More

Came here for a weekend to celebrate an anniversary and we love it to bits! It is a hotel-restaurant estate to the north-east of Groningen - so not a place you'd easily bump into, but well worth the detour. It offers the comfort and peace and quiet of by-gone days and - for the price we paid for an arrangement... More

The hotel was recommended by locals. it turned out to be quite special. The "feel": is more that of an estate with hotel benefits, lovely rooms, great food and a caring staff (we left an important document behind and the owner went way, way beyond what would be expected in her attempt to return it - successfully). You will have... More

we were there with a group of about 20 people. The hotel is a beautiful house, especially during day with view on the beautiful gardens. The rooms are in a new building, kind of motel joined to the old building, small but is was ok. and no noise from other rooms. Cleanliness might be better and with carpet on the... More

“Personally I liked our room (nr 9) in the more charming oldest part of the estate, which was really spacious including a good Queen Size bed.”

“We had a choice of a smaller, quainter upstairs room and a roomier one below. Both were fine but we chose the one on ground level and were very happy with it - we could even park our bikes in there for safe-keeping.”

“Access to the second floor rooms is only by 2 small circular stairways. If narrow circular stairways hamper your access request 1st floor.”

“we were in the modern part, room 20. It is the most quiet site in case there is a wedding in another location outside. In our room we heard really nothing. Rooms are small but it is enough. On the floor carpet so if you are allergic, you might have problems.”
