A wonderful place to stay. Whether it's summer season or a winter snowy season. The owners were very hospitable and took very good care of us and were very accommoding. Highly recommended! The hotel resturant is also highly recommended, even if you dont happen to be staying at the Berghaus Toni.

Superb location with great hosts, who looked after our hiking group with great care, thoughtful touches and helpful advice. Last minute changes were accommodated with no problems, breakfast was excellent and the bar area/dining room is cosy, friendly and welcoming.

We were hiking from Blatten to the Riederalp and when we arrived it really looked like the Berghaus Toni is the place to stay. Nice house, renovated and nicely furnished in a modern way. Then we moved in our room. Nice, big room with balcony and a beautiful look at the mountains. We decided to eat dinner at the place. As the weather was very sunny and warm we sat outside on the balcony. We ordered a big salad and a speciality the "Cholera". Both plates were not as delicious as expected and they both looked not very nice. We decided to go early to bed as we wanted to go on long tour the next day. Unfortunately the house is a wooden house so that you hear every step from above and from next door. And of course you can almost follow the talk in the next room.

This was a great place to stay! The room was clean, big and had a great view of mountains. However, what really makes this place stand out as exceptional is the great service. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in providing guests with everything they could need during their stay. They had gluten free options available for us, took the time to explain the story of the hotel and helped us plan the best itinerary for our short stay at the glacier to maximize our time there. We ate dinner there and it was delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel during a stay to Riederalp.

The hotel is in a superb location overlooking the village and the valley below, a starting point for most hikes and not far from the cable car and amenities store. We received extremely helpful advice from our hostess who was able to answer very question and give advice. Breakfast was excellent, our room fine with a large bathoom.

We stayed at Berghaus Toni 13th - 17th December 2016. My second visit to the hotel, and this time inspired to return with my wife and 6 year-old daughter, thanks to the wonderful family atmosphere and friendly hospitality of Britt and James. And we couldn't have had a better time! The room was cosy and lovely, a double bed for us and a bunk bed for our daughter with an ensuite bath, perfect for an evening soak before dinner every night after a hard day's skiing. Breakfast is an easy and simple buffet spread, served in the homely dining room of the hotel, with mesmerising views across the stunning Swiss Alps. Lunch and Dinner was unpretentious, the menu well thought out with a once-a-week, special culinary evening. Food was tasty, beautifully prepared and child friendly. Excellent drinks behind the bar, Guinness on tap, great selection of gin, excellent wine list. Riederalp suited us well. Ski school for the kids was great, skiing for the adults superb. A stunning location. Restaurants to explore and a lovely sense of community. What shines at Berghaus Toni, is Britt and James' infectious enthusiasm and passion for what they're doing. They've created a special vibe that you can feel throughout the hotel and amongst the staff. And that's why we can't wait to go back, to be amongst friends once more.

We stayed here for a summer walking holiday - our first visit to the Alps, and our stay exceeded all expectations. Stunning views and location and such a relaxing friendly place to stay too. I love that the hotel is in a car free village, it is so peaceful and relaxing with just the sound of the cow bells. As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast buffet is excellent and a great way to start the day. The views from the restaurant are stunning! We ate here every evening too as we enjoyed the food, the views, the atmosphere and service so much. An aperitif on the terrace before dinner, enjoying the views of the alps is just heavenly. I can recommend the fish and chips, the fondue, the salads and the rosti as well as the local rose wine. James and Brit, who run the hotel, are great hosts and recommended many walks and excursions for us.

We wanted the flavor of Switzerland with a view. That is exactly what we got. Hospitatality A++! Food exceptional! Breakfast buffet was a morning treat. Try the Cholera, it is sensational. Fish and chips and fondue were wonderful. Thank you to the entire staff at Berghaus Toni. You helped make this trip the trip of a lifetime. We cannot describe how awesome our experience was in Riederalp. Thank you. Terri and Loretta and all the "Venetz" relatives

Back from another great stay with James, Brit & the Berghaus Toni team! We had fun in the snow, attempted to ski, and even sun-bathed on our amazing balcony while taking in the stunning view! The chef made sure we ate well, we especially enjoyed the Valentines evening & the Italian night! You can't beat great food, friendly service in an amazing location... Keep up the great work guys, we'll see you again soon!
