·Having stayed here a few years ago, we knew it would be a superb location overlooking the bay at Tamariu. Our room had a sea view balcony and the room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom with a large glass sided, walk in shower. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, several issues arised during our stay. First off, after booking I sent the hotel a message via Booking.com asking for parking. On arrival, they denied any knowledge, saying that all requests had to be via direct email, despite the fact that they are happy enough to send YOU messages via booking.com! We had to park in the village for the first 2 nights, but we were told we could have parking for the rest of our stay at 18 euros a night. On the penultimate day, a Sunday, I received a phone call saying that I had to give back the key to the parking as it was booked for someone else, leaving me to attempt to find a space in the village on a sunny Sunday afternoon when the the place was full of beach goers and many other visitors. I managed to get the last available space! The response from the hotel was "Regarding the parking matter, we would like to inform you that, indeed, parking was requested, although not confirmed as it is only confirmed under availability (which was not the case) and via e-mail." I am not sure what that means exactly or how many times I have to ask for something before it is actioned. One of the messages received via booking.com said that breakfast times would be allocated to avoid crowding as a Covid precaution. Being early risers, we opted for 8:00 am, but on the first day the staff didn't actually arrive until 8:10 to lay out the tables and the buffet style breakfast. Not much improvement was experienced over the remaining six mornings. As for the breakfast, if you like lukewarm hot food on a stone cold plate, you will love it! On the subject of cold food, I ordered a "cafe con leche" from the bar, that was barely warm when it arrived. I sent it back and got another which was barely warmer so gave up. The young man operating the coffee machine clearly needs more training. As for the room itself, lots of space and a HUGE bed, but totally inadequate storage, drawers etc. for clothes. As two people staying for 7 nights we mainly had to live out of our suitcases. There was a mini-bar style fridge, but nothing in it at all, not even one complimentary small bottle of water, very poor and penny pinching. Worse than that, there were no tea/coffee making facilities. Also the toilet paper was thin, recycled and of poor quality :-( Response from the hotel was that tea/coffee making facilities are ONLY available in "double superior rooms with coffee making facilities which are much more spacious", so we poor people in a room that is less than "superior" just have to put up with it. At least they had stopped charging for the use of the safe in the room, as they did on the previous visit. Disappointed to find that the issues I mentioned in my previous review have not changed, apart from the use of the safe now being free of charge. Unlikely to be staying here ever again.…
