Delightful big old building with lots of character especially within the bright sunny cloisters. Nice room, and just 25 mins from Palencia which is a good place to explore. Ideal for a couple of days and enroute to the south The small town also has plenty of cafes and is a nice place for a stroll after dinner

We stayed at the Real Monasterio San Zoilo for one night during our Camino de Santiago. As we were exhausted upon arrival, we were deflated to discover that the hotel was at the very end of the town. However, it was worth the walk (not so much for the welcome) as for the beauty of the building which retained its... More

Should you look for a quiet atmosphere in an authertic real Monastery, this is one of the places you have to consider. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, classic design. It is really nice to wake up looking at the backyard of the Monastery. You really enjoy the silence and calm all around. The restaurant is also very good, served... More

A very nice spot on the Camino de Santiago route, in fact the whole village is invaded by pilgrims those years. The hotel is kept apart of the city center, however it will take you less than 10 minutes to reach it, since it's a quite compact village. The hotel is built on an old monastery, so the walls are... We had a gorgeous stay here on the night of our 42nd anniversary whilst doing the Camino. It is excellent value for money and is a beautiful old building set in pleasant grounds. Our room was large, very tastefully furnished and very well equipped and air conditioned. Our dinner in the restaurant was extremely good and the staff there were... More

We almost did not book after reading some of the reviews but are really glad that we decided to stay here. The service was efficient and friendly, we were given a room overlooking the garden at the back, which was comfortable and clean bearing in mind that how difficult it can be at times to provide accommodation (that we are... Of 5 weeks on the Camino, this was one of my absolute favorite places to stay, and I had the pleasure of two nights in this wonderful hotel. Absolutely elegant, this 10th century monastery has been lovingly converted. The rooms are gorgeous, the gardens are exquisite, everything about this place is simply perfect. And for a weary pilgrim, the water... More

Friendly check in staff, wonderful rooms with very comfortable beds. The stand out was the restaurant which served incredible local fare, the waitresses were very helpful and a reasonably priced local wine list. The real let down for this place was the barman - not sure why you would do that job if you dislike people so much. Otherwise a... More

We chose this hotel as a Camino splurge. We arrived exhausted. It is on the far end of town. An old monastery, it is gorgeous. But the atmosphere felt cold and not particularly welcoming. There was a mix-up with the transport of our packs, which was easily resolved, but much of the desk staff seemed preoccupied, busy, uninterested. The room... More

As a fan of historical buildings, I was excited to stay here while on the Camino. But my excitement was short-lived. I've traveled quite a bit in Spain and stayed at everything from 2 to 4-star hotels, and let me tell you, the 2 and 3-star places I've stayed in have this place beat, hands down. The rooms were warm,... More
