I came to Carrion to do some research at the library here. San Zoilo offered a single room in the monastery for 45 Euro per night -- the price of a simple pension. For this I had a large (double) room with own bath, view into a neoclassical cloister, easy library access, church bells, a sofa, and a Renaissance cloister... More

I had to debate with myself a little before deciding I would stay in this four star lodging because, being on the Camino, I felt I was sacrificing some make-believe authenticity for pure self-indulgence. However, I do believe that when the opportunity presents we should embrace beauty and elegance in whatever form it takes. Who knows what wrangling, struggles and... More

A really unusual location from every aspect. The overall experience is very interesting with good rooms and very good food. We only had one night while on the Camino but it was an excellent interlude.

The hotel is located at the far end of town so you have to walk a bit more to get to it after a long day on the road. The good thing is you'll be right at the exit of town so you'll have saved yourself a kilometer or so for the following day's walk. It is a bit far... More

This is an immpessive building both from an internal and external aspect. The modernisation has been completed with great care. Service is cold and lacks welcome. The hotel is quiet and generally feels more like a museum. The room was delightful and had all modern amenities. The grounds are stunning. I stayed whilst walking on the Camino de Santiago and... A quiet calm oasis in rural Spain. On the Camino this is really worth an over night visit. A beautiful building with classical bedrooms and up to date plumbing. The restaurant serves a reasonable selection of dishes and good value wine.

This four star hotel lives up to its reputation. It's an old monastery that was converted into a hotel. Welcoming staff. The grounds and hotel decorations are unique and reflect the history of the location. Rooms are relatively large with very comfortable bends. Restaurant is excellent but as you'd expected at the high end of price.

a luxury hotel in a beautiful, with a fantastic landscape Castilian monastery. Our intention was to reserve a room, but the treatment of the cafeteria and some lack of cleanliness made us extend the trip to Logroño. The coffe-bar had a few food service and noted for his unkindness, a shame for special place in Palencia.

Indifferent, almost condescending welcome - just because I have walked here? Bag in a store room had to collect myself - would it have hurt to have brought it to reception for me? Chambermaids met near room very friendly. Clean, roomy bedroom and bathroom - sadly overlooked a car park courtyard rather than the cloister. Hotel decor and style can't... More

I was there for 2 nights. The hotel is really good, the room was big and clean, the bath is also large. The only point of the hotel is that if you prefer the bar for the breakfast there are limited options for taking. The surroundings are also great don`t skip walking through the town and enjoy the good local... More
