this hotel was wonderful and we had a lovely holiday.
our flight was delayed coming in so no staff to meet us but the key etc was left for us, they also had left water in our room, and lots of fresh food in the fridge which was a lovely unexpected touch after a long day travelling.
luckily for us, the hotel wasn't full so no issues with getting sunbeds or issues getting food in the restaurant.
the restaurant food was good, they had a choice of 4 or 5 mains every day which you ordered as you arrived for dinner. there was still a buffet for salads and more mainstream food. our children sometimes had one of the mains and sometimes just had the buffet foods.
all the waitressing staff, bar staff, and receptionists and cleaners were friendly and helpful.
they were also kind, our older daughter (older teen) was unwell when at the pool bar by herself (heatstroke) on the 2nd day and they came to get us and looked after her well until we did.
the bungalows were clean as was the resort. there was some minor cosmetic issues but nothing concerning.
the receptionists were v helpful at booking car hire, providing maps and where to go for certain activities. they also booked taxis to go into the main resort. also when one of our children sprained her ankle they got hold of the local clinic who sent a dr and nurse to see her.
this hotel is on the outer aspect of playa blanca , you can walk 5 mins to a supermarket, or 10 mins to the sea.
you could walk into the main resort, probably 20-30 mins or take a bus but its only 5 E by taxi.
its fairly easy to get a taxi from the resort back again.
playa blanca is a lovely town with shops, restaurants, water sports and lovely beaches and this hotel was a really nice place to stay.

the hotel pool is nice and clean but quite deep. there is a very small toddler pool. for those with young children it may be tricky at times with the pool. there is a lifeguard for 6 hours a day.

on our last day, our flight wasnt until late, we werent able to extend our room till late as they had people coming in to our room, but there was somewhere to leave our bags after checkout at 12 and there was a shower we could use to freshen up after spending the day at the pool. we also were able to change our dinner slot to lunchtime that day.
we did half board which was fine, you could order food via room service if needed.
overall we loved our holiday here and if we come back to Lanzarote are very likely to stay here again.

Dear Anna, It brings us immense pleasure to hear that you had a wonderful holiday at our hotel. It seems our team's efforts to anticipate your needs and provide small touches like leaving fresh food in the fridge, were appreciated. We're also glad that our staff was helpful and kind, particularly when your older daughter fell ill; their primary concern is always the well-being of our guests. Your recommendations regarding our restaurant and the variety of food on offer are heartening. It's always our aim to cater for all tastes and dietary needs, and we're glad your family was satisfied. Thank you for noting our clean bungalows and the overall tidiness of our resort. We are grateful for your understanding regarding the minor cosmetic issues; we strive to ensure our accommodation is comfortable and well-maintained. We're delighted that you found the location convenient, and that you enjoyed the surrounding area of Playa Blanca. It's also encouraging to hear that you appreciated the amenities we offered, such as the pool and toddler area, as well as the lifeguard service. Your understanding regarding the room extension on your last day was much appreciated, and we're glad that our arrangements for your luggage and shower facilities were helpful. It's great to hear that you were able to make the most of your final day with us. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your holiday so much and you are considering returning. We look forward to welcoming you back should you decide to visit Lanzarote again. Sincerely, Dreamplace Bocayna Village Team

Visited this hotel in early April and was impressed by the rooms, although a little tired, the seperate bedroom and bathroom was really handy with our two children. Hot tub was a nice addition but I question the dosing of the chemicals in the water and there seemed to be a lot of grit in the bottom of ours. Huge balcony with outdoor loungers and seating was great. Location suited us as it was very quiet at one end of Playa Blanca and 25mins into the Marina along the coastal path or 4 Euro in a taxi.
Food was good in the Evening with a choice of 5 prepared main meals or the usual buffet fare and was perfectly fine for us. However, the things that let this place down is the AI as the Bar Staff did not seem to be bothered whenever anyone wanted a drink and were rarely at the bar. We once found a bar menu but as soon as we wanted anything such as a cocktail the waiter muttered something, said there were no spirits left and snatched the menu out of our hands to be put back behind the bar. We saw another Jet2 family move to another hotel purely for this reason. A shame as the staff in the restaurants were generally lovely along with the ladies on reception who couldn't be more helpful. There is also another room next to Reception where you can help yourself to various drinks with a Fridge but there were a couple of days where this wasn't restocked with any Wine or ice cubes.
As for the pool this was OK with enough sun beds but a shock that Children couldn't have inflatables in the pool. This seemed to be the only Hotel in Playa Blanca with this policy and as a hotel that was marketed as Family friendly I would assume this was a given especially considering that the pool had a lifeguard on duty. There was a family with 2 small children in the pool with a new inflatable Crocodile having fun which was nice to see but not after long the Jet2 Rep was called in to ask the family to remove it which was disappointing to see two upset small children crying. Anyway, this is another discussion point that should be taken up with the Jet2 marketing department. We noticed the same cups/rubbish and dirty towels in the pool area for at least three consecutive days but I won't judge as I assume the staff are stretched, maybe cuts due to Covid? As I said earlier, there are some lovely staff here (just not my friends at the bar!)
I would recommend this place for couples and maybe families with teens/older children but if I would suggest taking Half Board or breakfast only and then head out into the lovely Marina in the Evening.

Dear Mr. Jimmy135189, We are glad to know that you recommend our hotel to couples and families with teens, and that you enjoyed the bungalow space and the hot tube in the private terrace. Your feedback about the gastronomic variety in the evening meals, and that you find our staff lovely is very valuable for us, we will address your comments to all the team. As per the bar service, we are sorry to hear our colleagues couldn’t serve you at the Pool Bar, we will look into it in order to keep a continuous improvement. Just returned from 6 nights at the hotel. It’s in a great location near the Rubicon ( takes about 20mins to walk) or you can walk to the amazing Papagayo Beaches. We only did half Board, they allow you to swap your dinner for a lunch if you want to eat out, which is good.

The hotel is classed as a 4 start it’s very quite and for once you don’t have to up with the towel brigade to put your towels out. The hotel seems quite even though there are people staying,

We loved it and will definitely return later in the year.

Pros
Worth upgrading to the supreme bungalows with the hot tub. The rooms are big and the balcony is huge also has a outside BBQ and sink.

Hot tub, just leave it on and after 12 hrs you have a very hot tub. Keep the lid on whilst your not using it.

The restaurant food is plenty full, I have seen previous comments that the breakfast is repetitious, there is cereal, breads, cheeses, fruits, porridge, and a variety of hot food. I don’t know what the people are complaining about as back home I only eat cereal or toast, so not sure what they eat everyday at home !!
Evening meal there is the buffet but they also give you the option of a different main meal, which they cook for you and is part of your plan.

The reception staff are great and anything not working they fixed it straight away.

There is a bus stop right outside the door and that takes you into playa Blanca for €1.40 , which you can the get connecting buses to other parts of the island, a taxi back from the Marina is around €4 if you didn’t want to walk back.

A supermarket and a few bars and restaurants are within a 5 min walk if you didn’t want to walk into the Rubicon or catch a bus.

Papagayo beach’s are spectacular but you need good trainers as it’s a very rocky and hilly walk up and down to get to them. You wouldn’t be able to push a buggy or wheel chair to them, you also need to take your own food and drink. It’s only a 1.89 mile walk to the beaches but due to the routes it will take you about an hour to get to them, walking in flip flops is a no no.

The gym is open it’s not big but ok if you feel you need a little workout. The sauna is open too although didn’t use it.

Cons
The bathrooms could with updating if they want to keep it as a 4 star, but they are clean.

The outdoor pool is freezing, would be nice if it was heated.

The area of Los Colorados is very residential and laid back, if your looking for nightlife, karaoke etc..then you would need to stay in del carmen. If you want to chill out, with no loud music, good food then this is the hotel.

There were a couple of families with very small babies and toddlers, but the majority of people were middle aged and mainly german and French., which didn’t bother us.

We loved it and will definitely return later in the year.

We have just landed back from a fantastic week at this hotel. It was just what we needed after a really stressful few months.

Arriving at the hotel, tired and hot, we had the most friendly welcome at reception. We already knew we were winning with 2 hard to impress teenagers just smiling at the place we’d chosen.

We were given bungalow 30 and it was amazing. It is so much bigger than you are led to believe. The single beds in the kids room were bigger than a normal single and the main bedroom also had a decent sized bed, all of which were really comfy. There is plenty of space for clothes etc and the bathrooms are of a decent size (kids one was slightly smaller but it meant they made less mess!). The balcony/terrace……amazing. We miss it already. The views over playa Blanca and over to Fuerteventura were beautiful and something we loved to wake up to every morning and sit and have a drink looking at each evening.

The pool area is so relaxed. It’s not too quiet that the kids (and grown up kids) can’t have fun in the pool, but it still manages to keep a chilled atmosphere. People are really good about not hogging beds too. We only found twice we couldn’t get a bed but when people go back to their rooms for a bit or go out, they take their stuff with them so within an hour or so, we had a place for our towels.

The food was good. Plenty of choice for all 3 meals (we were all inclusive) and only ate out twice. Each night, there is an a la carte menu with about 5 choices on which you can have alongside the buffet but you can also just choose to have the buffet. The waiting staff were brilliant. Constantly on it and always with a smile on their face.

I’ve read some previous reviews about the service at the bar. We had no issues at all. That may be down to it being summer and busy but the hotel catered for it really well in my opinion.

All in all, I would 100% recommend this hotel if you’re after a laid back, chilled holiday. I’m used to being more central on previous holidays but this one was perfect for a quiet, chilled out time whilst being a cheap taxi ride away from the marina. So it has the best of both. Yes, there are parts of the hotel that need a little looking after (drain round the pool is loose but easily fixable and lights on paths round the hotel at night) but we really did have the best time and have come back home feeling like we can take on the world again!

The rating of 4 takes into account the current global situation, under different circumstances this would be a lot lower. I think people considering this hotel need to know the available facilities so they can decide whether it's value for money. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the flexibility to cancel, we travelled 2 days after a government travel review, so had Spain turned red we could have cancelled with no financial penalty. The rooms are really good, very private terraces, adequate kitchens, nice bathrooms with a good shower and the maids kept it really clean. We had a great view from our room (number 6). The aircon was also a massive plus in the very high temperatures whilst we were there. The grounds are nice, kept immaculate by the gardeners and cleaners, indeed the whole place was very clean. The pool was nice, smaller than expected and it had no shade at all.
We went half board, however we already planned to eat out often in the evening, the website advised we could have lunch instead of dinner with 24hrs notice, but this proved difficult due to the limited hours for reception.
The reception wasn't even open when we arrived, meaning we had to wander around with our cases whilst the restaurant tried to find someone to let us into our room. The jacuzzi at the pool was drained and not in operation for our entire stay, as were the lovely fountains in the hotel pictures. The SPA and gym are currently closed. The pool bar is only open 7pm till 10pm ( was 11pm but changed half way through our stay ), there is no entertainment, which meant no real evening atmosphere.
Breakfast was OK, evening meal options were only 1 meat or 1 fish dish, although I did see them cater for vegans. If you didn't fancy either option the buffet was 2 different pizza options, 1 pasta option or chicken nuggets, or various forms of salad. We ate in the hotel 5 times across 15 nights, I wouldn't be happy if I paid for all inclusive, but the food was OK for half board. We did think the drinks were expensive though (price list in photos), so we were out the majority of the time. Staff were all lovely and helpful and the same few were there all the time. We would go back for the right price, but our expectations would be to treat it more like a villa with breakfast and the odd dinner.

Stayed Thursday 9th Jan until Monday 13th Jan. Literally booked a day before so hadn’t done much research. Arrived to fab news of an upgrade to a deluxe bungalow with hot tub. Bungalow was spacious and spotless. First time ever I haven’t had to clean the fridge on arrival. Two bathrooms which was very handy with two teenagers. Decor slightly dated but the cleanliness well and truly compensated for this. Outside on the veranda plenty of seating options to dine or relax with stunning views day and night. Hot tub was a fantastic addition. This did need topping up each day but reception were responsive to our request. Nothing too much trouble. Towels and linen changed daily if you request it.
We paid half board and choice of breakfast and evening meals were varied and plentiful. Most nights we didn’t need to order a main as the starters were enough. Each night a different drink/cocktail waited for you on arrival to restaurant which we felt was a nice touch. We were given vouchers for free drinks at the pool bar and cocktails in the lobby bar. Waiters were polite and so friendly. We really needed a break and so glad we chose this hotel. Thank you reception staff, Roberto, Mohammed and the many other waiters.

As you will see when I write the review this hotel has a little way to go before it can be a true 4star as claimed we opted for the all inclusive option

We had a week here mid May , opted for the superior 2 bed bungalow with hot tub and bbq on an all inclusive basis , the positives , hotel upon arrival appeared clean and tidy and receptionist polite , we were able to get in our room early, bungalow was good size with large terrace and hot tub . Went for lunch which was off a menu and was pretty good , polite staff in the restaurant and throughout our stay they and the cleaners worked really hard , room was very clean on arrival and throughout our stay the best drinks served in the restaurant.

Not so positive
Place was very quiet and had very few guests , although we were informed it was 50% full , I think not . Hot tub pretty old and worn (functioned ok) bbq was dirty and unusable, both these come at an extra cost on booking .Breakfast and evening buffet ok but what food was supposed to be hot was warm at best . Evening meal although A la Carte , only had 3 choices , Dessert selection was very limited and definitely not of 4 star standard. The All inclusive drinks room was a dull , dingy and unwelcoming and you had to serve yourself ! This room was shut at 6pm every evening. Pool bar not open until the evening, supposedly at 6 pm,but you have to wait , having rung a bell, for restaurant staff to come through to serve you and then dash back the the restaurant . The only entertainment, to warm you up , as the only place to get a drink is this outside pool bar , when you can get one , is occasional piped music , this bar shuts at 10 pm .
Hotel was clean and tidy but lacked ambience as there were only a few guests that went into the community areas , possibly due to the lack of entertainment and the a inclusive room being away from the pool area and no staff at the pool bar .
This place needs quite a few tweaks to get true 4 star status , and perhaps one or two more staff , then it might get more clientele

The hotel deserves SIX stars, for the quality of its' staff, they are probably the best I've ever come across. Every single one of them, were friendly, helpful, chatty yet efficient and all were really happy. No exceptions. Bianca in reception deserves a special mention, she is amazing!
Yes the rooms are a bit "tired" and could do with a coat of paint and they appear to have minor problems, but the cheery handyman soon sorts things out.
We had a 2 bed roomed, 2 bath roomed bungalow, with decent kitchen, [limited equipment, ideal for snack lunches, but not up to cooking a full meal], fridge/freezer, dining area, lounge with TV, [including all UK channels, BBC 1 and 2, ITV, Channel 4 and 5], huge terrace with BBQ, bench sitting, dining table and chairs, sunbeds and hot tub. [Also clothes drying rail in back garden area.]
Swimming pools in the complex were chilly, [but local laws prevent the over heating of pools, to economise/ save the planet!] Life guard on duty. Loads of sun beds around. Never crowded.
Restaurant offers buffet starter, masses of variety on offer, [salads, fruit, pasts, pizza etc]. Then main course is ordered from the waiter, [5 choices, 2 meat, 2 fish, one veggie]. Dessert is buffet with good choices.
Wine ordering is "weird", as not offered a wine list, but recommended to have the local Lanzarote wines, in red, white, rose. [All were good]. Plus you can even order wine by the glass.
There is a supermarket about 4/5 minutes walk away, [ask reception to explain the quick walk through, rather than go on the road].
There are a few shops and restaurants also about 5 mins away.
The walk into Rubicon Marina takes 20/25 mins and to Playa Blanca 40/45 mins, but the local bus runs the full length of the resort, [costing 1 euro] and a taxi can be called to the hotel and only costs 3 to 4 euros.
Hotel is extremely quiet, in a more residential area, ideal for a relaxing break and one where you feel very Covid safe.
Unfortunately, Covid means the gym and sauna are not open, at the moment.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Accommodation lovely - clean 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with spacious lounge kitchen area. Extensive outside terrace to each room for private relaxion.

Only had breakfast which was fine. But heard other residents disappointed with all inclusive including bar hours.

Swimming pool could do with a little minor maintenance but was chilled. Typical holiday, reserve your sun-beds early. Reception do remove towels on request when selfishly reserved

Location is 30min walk from Marina which has a good selection of restaurants but limited bars. We went to Playa Blanc town on three nights which is a 5 euro taxi ride reception are happy to book for you. Immediate vicinity seems to be struggling with recovery from CoVId as a lot of hotels are still closed, along with bars and restaurants hence the need to travel.

Average at best.

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks from the 25th of September in bungalow number seven. When we arrived the reception was closed but the bar staff sorted everything out and even helped with our luggage, in the morning the reception staff explained that because of Covid restrictions things were slightly different, this didn’t take away from the holiday.
The bungalow was clean spacious and well maintained we had a very large terrace with three sun loungers and a hot tub which was very private, the restaurant was different because of the restrictions, breakfast was a buffet but lunch was a menu and dinner was a combination of both but there was a pick of a fish or meat dish, the food was excellent always well cooked and delicious. Need to mention the staff, all the staff were friendly and helpful and special mention to Arturo, Maria and Hicham who always made us feel welcome.
Overall we had a great time at this hotel despite the restrictions and would love to return in the future.
