#7 of 72 Specialty lodging in Playa Blanca
Since the 15th of June of 2014 the property changed the management of the complex with all new improvements. Since that momento we changed the name into Palmeras Garden. Located in the Montana Roja in Playa Blanca, the Palmeras Garden Hotel offers quiet and modern accommodation, perfect for a beach holiday in Lanzarote. Just a short walk away you will find Playa Flamingo (a sandy cove), and several shops and restaurants. If you want a larger selection, the centre of Playa Blanca is pleasant half hour stroll along the coast. With a good range of bars and restaurants, it is a great place for an evening out and there are reasonably priced taxis for those that do not fancy the walk home. While staying at the Palmeras Garden complex, more active guests may want to take advantage of the tennis court. The island has interesting but stunning scenery and guests can experience this with the Timanfaya Volcanic Park nearby, with beautiful landscapes, historical buildings and interesting architecture. It is also famous for its beautiful weather and idyllic, white beaches so you can choose to sunbathe on one of the many beaches or in the comfort of the apartments, while sipping a cocktail by the pool. The Palmeras Garden Apartments are ideal for couples and families looking for a memorable beach holiday in beautiful Lanzarote.

We arrived at 18.30 on 25th Sept to find reception closes at 15.00. Collected key from bar. Apt 25 was on ground floor at outer edge of complex with a road at the side. Next morning we went to reception to ask for a safe key - there was a man standing in the back office talking to the receptionist, he quickly disappeared into the back office (receptionist later denied there was a man there but we both know what we saw) Got the key but realised we needed passports and Covid certificates to check in. Went back to the apt , put our valuables in the safe, locked it and went back to reception. On returning to apt, just 30 minutes after asking for the safe key, we realised someone had opened the safe, taken €900 and gone. Went straight back to reception , said we had been robbed. She did not seem surprised but was more surprised that we wanted the police. 2 Guardia arrived followed by our Jet2 rep, Jose. The police checked the front of the apt and found no sign of forced entry which confirmed our suspicions that it was an inside job. They never looked at the rear of the apt. We went back to the apt after 2 days to take our own photos and noticed the living room window at the back had clearly been tampered with. As we already had the police report they would not come out again. Apparently there was nothing suspicious on CCTV, we asked to see the footage but declined. The person who did this has access to the spare safe keys ( locked in managers office), knowledge of the CCTV cameras and knows how to enter through a closed rear window, rob an innocent couple and escape within minutes. It turns out there have been 6 other robberies from locked safes at this hotel over 5 years. The hotel was nowhere near full so why were we put in this vulnerable apt? As someone said , we were like lambs to the slaughter and set up for this robbery before we had even arrived. We know who you and your accomplice are - shame on you, despicable people. So , if you are thinking of going to this hotel, please don't if you value your hard earned money. This thief may only steal from a locked safe every year or so but next time it might be you. Finally , many, many thanks to Graham and Lesley, Simon and his wife and Pete and Eileen for all their support to us. Not forgetting Jet 2 reps Vicky and especially Jose for all his help and acting as our translator.

Fantastic apartments that have been renovated, sadly missing just a sharp knife which is important in self catering to me. Sadly during our stay here a nice couple had there apartment entered , not forced entry, and there safe unlocked and £900 taken and then the safe locked again. This did put us on edge somewhat. This happened in 10 minutes of asking receptionist for a safe key and directions to the nearest shop, please draw your own conclusions, but my advice would to not ask for a safe. Please look back over previous years and see similar instances of this…..

Set in quite location (more Upper class than the rest of playa Blanca, as the hotel facing had quite a few famous faces coming and going). A beautiful mountain back drop yet a short stroll along a beautiful promenade to the beach, bars and restaurants. The apartments were very spacious and very clean. All the windows had in built mosquito nets which meant windows could be left open at night and kept the apartment cool so air conditioning was not required. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond. The on site shop had all the necessities and was very reasonably priced. The bar/restaurant was very welcoming and the food was delicious especially the breakfast. The only down side is that the bar had steps on both entry sides which meant that anyone disabled/in a wheel chair would not be able to access it The pool bar opened every day and basically stayed open until the last man was standing. We have returned to this place several times now and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday set in a beautiful location and surroundings

We very much enjoyed our family holiday at Palmeras gardens. The rooms and communal areas were kept clean and tidy and the reception staff were always friendly and helpful. We stayed in a bungalow that had clearly been recently renovated and was above our expectations given the cost of our stay. We opted to pay extra for air con (4 euro per day) which was well worth it and a safe (18 euro for 10 day). WiFi was free and good by the pool but a bit hit and miss in our bungalow. We received a maid service on most days of our holiday. It would of been better if the pool bar would of opened, it remained closed during our stay despite the accommodation being fully occupied. That said there is a small supermarket within 1 minute of the pool that had chilled drinks and ice creams so this shouldn’t put anyone off as this was a convenient and cheap alternative! Lastly it is quite a walk to the main town so pack some good shoes or be prepared to use taxis ~ 4/5 euros a trip. In summary Palmeras Gardens provides clean, relaxed and reasonably priced accommodation that is approx a 20 min walk from the centre of playa blanca. We would definitely stay again.

A thirteen night stay morphed into seven due to the current pandemic. For the first couple of days there were no social distancing or lockdown issues and so this review is relevant for that brief period. Our apartment was spacious, clean and had its own small patio area with a couple of chairs and a table but no sun loungers. Self catering for more than two of us would have been an issue as the fridge didn’t hold much and there was no freezer compartment. The door shelves were broken and unusable. Kitchen utensils were also pretty limited. The television was easy to use without a remote and channels included BBC1 and 2, ITV and Channel 4. On-site facilities included a gym, bike hire, pool and tennis courts. There was a small shop which was reasonably priced and we had a couple of meals in the bar which were pretty good. We had a hire car so location wasn’t an issue for us, but as others have said, taxis are cheap and there is a bus stop immediately outside the complex. This was an impulse booking for us in order to grab some sun and, fortunately as it turned out, our first package holiday (easy Jet). We would happily return for a short break - seven nights was probably enough anyway.
