We have been visitors to Ocean Dreams since 2013, often staying twice a year and sadly this will probably be our last. We always book 1 yr in advance to get Villa 19 which is classed as Deluxe - mainly for the amazing views. Outside it is in real need of repair and redecoration. . The pool main. unit top was loose (blew off across patio) and the metal top was sharp. Pool edge was filthy in one corner and outdoor furniture is grubby and basic. Inside the decor is bland , the plant, side window curtain and murals which gave it some charm had all disappeared and the sofa (fairly new) looks tired. Bath needs repair with rust along the edge. I had been assured of a late checkout (original flight was 9pm) but when I emailed after arrival to confirm I had a very basic reply saying that this wouldn’t be possible and due to additional Covid cleaning check out was at 11am! I understand that these are very unusual times but I really expected better customer service after being guests for so long. There was also no cleaning for 2 weeks stay to ‘protect’ us.! In summary the villa is in urgent need of repair and redecoration to be classed as Deluxe - we stayed at a villa nearby for Xmas which was beautifully decorated, equipped and maintained (and much cheaper!) . Finally if you book an airport taxi via Reception ensure you have the exact fare - our driver constantly played drums on the steering wheel, tail-gated then apparently had absolutely no change and no payment by card - reeaaaaly? …
Spent several days at ocean dreams in Playa Blanca Lanzarote during the Coronavirus recently and received no active assistance or information about the current situation in Lanzarote . No communication whatsoever from the reception staff. Other people who were also there confirmed my views. The cleaning and pool staff were brilliant. I’ve been to several villas over a 15 year period and this is by far the worst. To make it even worse the pool wasn’t heated and could not be used. Very basic accommodation. Very disappointing. If anything the only good point was the proximity of the villas to the marina Management poor.
I have nothing negative to say about our stay in No 8 Villa. Spotlessly clean, an abundance of clean towels, large spacious rooms, huge beds, everything you needed was there. Barbecue provided on request, Ricardo was so helpful on reception. Arrived early as Villa not ready, locked our bags up and had use of a bathroom to freshen up. First time our daughter has been to the resort and she described it as beautiful and loved the Villa and is hoping to return with her friends. We will definitely return next year, but it will be for far longer. Very sad to be leaving this fabulous place ☹
I expected a high standard but was a bit disappointed. The villa was in need of refurbishment, with flaky paint on the walls. I stayed for 7 nights and the Cleaner only attended to the Villa once. There was a shortage of supplies (eg toilet paper) and everyday essentials. The Kitchen was impractical as the dishwasher blocked the cabinets when open. Be aware when using the Smart TV and make sure to log out if using Netflix, I had a rather nasty surprise when I got back.
I have been visiting Lanzarote for many years after I lived here when I was a Rep for TUI and I've found myself going back year after year all across the island. But Playa Blanca is my favourite spot. Family actually recommended Ocean Dreams, who have also been visiting for years and we can't imagine staying anywhere else now. We stayed last May in the Hidden villa and we're booked again this upcoming September, we can't wait. The villa is beautiful inside and out and has everything you need for a perfect, relaxing holiday. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to be back, it feels like our second home.
