Our first impression when we arrived wasn’t great, it looked like faulty towers! Check in was smooth and fast. However we were traveling with our 18 month old! The room had a spare single bed, which anyone who has children (young children who are used to sleeping in a cot) was a huge problem. We arrived at 2/3am, she was up and down like a yo-yo which was a nightmare! We had requested a cot before arrival yet it wasn’t in the room. We asked reception and was told we would have to wait for housekeeping in the morning. So the first night was a disaster! The breakfast was ok, plenty on offer yet as new guests we made our way to the breakfast area with no clue of the set up we were greeted by someone who didn’t speak English, from then on made our own rules up. Food was all fresh and replaced when running low which was nice. The area/location is fabulous lovely beach 2 mins away, very busy but this is to be expected! The restaurants near by (plenty of them) are all very inviting! Our favourite unfortunately we can’t remeber the name was just behind the pool area on the right if looking out of the fence! Beautiful food, fab portions and excellent service. This hotel is ran down, clean yet sore on the eye! It did the job, somewhere to sleep! We wouldn’t return here yet would return to the area!

Throughout our stay the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful - well done! The hotel has decided to feed nearby apartment holidaymakers in the hotel dining room without upgrading the kitchen or dining area. This resulted in a poor choice of food, warm food that should have been hot or trays that were left empty of food. The pool area bar didn't open until 8.30 pm so for those staying at the hotel this meant if you wanted a drink you needed to leave the pool and move to the front of the hotel - that was also understaffed! Over 40 satellite channels on the room TV - none in English. Felt about as welcome as toothache! The vast majority of guests were German and this was reflected in the choice of food and TV channels.

I went here today to lunch at 15:00 pm and I did order a grilled Hake, I was disapointed to see that the fish was fried. The waitress said she will get another grilled Hake without any problem. After half an hour the grilled fish came but I was shocked to see that it was not Hake but it was Panga (a very low quality chinese fish and a lot much cheaper as compared to hake). I cannot imagine how in a 4 star hotel they can serve you a cheaper fish when the fish hake is clearly specified in the menu for 7'50€! Almost was no Hake. And you can get Panga in supermarket for 1'5€ ( 6 fillet frizer) and they give you 1 small fillet of Panga ( how this would be Hake) for 7'50€. I am spanish and I know how recognize this both fish. BE CAREFULL for the people that come to holidays because they are cheating you. Finally after 1 hour 40 minuts I left the hotel and didn't eat nothing. En resumen, están engañando a los extranjeros vendiendo Panga a precio de Merluza para rebajar costes y aumentar ganancias, ya que los extranjeros no reconocen las diferencias a simple vista. Me parece algo denigrante engañar a los clientes en un hotel de 4*. Y lo peor es que te piden perdón pero saben perfectamente que te están engañando.

I had my breakfast and dinner in the hotel whilst staying in the apartments. The buffet food is not so good, it is rather repetitive, however the show cooking is extremely good. Chef cooks fresh fried eggs and bacon and in the evening he cooks fresh meat and fish. You can dine al fresco which I find very satisfying. The beer served at night is Estrella Damm, from Barcelona, incredibly good, very crisp and tastier than San Miguel, served ice cold by a wonderful waiter named Tony who speaks very good English. The staff at the hotel are lovely, in particular the hotel manager who I had good conversations with. Alexandra and Melanie at reception are courteous, polite, professional and will help you in any way they can. On my departure, the night porter very kindly made me a cup of coffee at 5am, it is little things like this that make the difference. Thank you so much, greatly appreciated. He also woke me at my apartment so I would not miss my pick up for the transfer and brought my suitcase to the hotel to save my struggling up that slight hill. A true gentleman. I'm not sure this is a 4* hotel, however I would imagine they gain 4* from the show cooking, which is exellent and I highly recommend the fresh fish - do die for!! I had a very enjoyable stay and thank you to the staff for their personal service.

We've just had a week in Hotel Mayurca and had great stay. We stayed in room 221 and it was fine, had lovely view. It had two single beds together and balcony and fridge. The shower was excellent. Could have done with kettle for coffee but otherwise perfectly functional. Plus it was cleaned daily. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food varied and always something tasty and lots of it. The location is right by the beach and the Hotel had a nice charm about it. The pool again was good, not big but you can swim and cool off in it. All in all very pleased, especially when you see all the other hotels when you get transfered from airport. Some horrible, cramped highly commercialised places. Canmayal is lovely place too. I recommend taking the track to the right just after the bridge near the tourist information place. It takes you up a cliff path to the caves. Half way there's a lovely little cove for snorkeling and swimming. See pictures.
