Location very good. Meal average or below average. Staff friendly and polite. Rooms poor equipped, old fashioned, very simply. As it was winter time and snowy heating doesn’t work properly. I stayed on third floor and there was cold in room. They heated insufficiently (heaters were not warm enough), and heated on during a day but turned it off during night. When I claimed it on reception they’re just sorry but they can’t help me as their heating system is set by their technicians. Probably due to this issue the room was wet and water was leaking in the corner - I noticed it to cleaning lady - she just commented that it is okay, it’s just because of it’s cold outside. I will surely not return there. No more.

Very nice and pleasant place for a ski relax. Hotel has very tasty kitchen, nice personell. If you are a hotel guest you have discount for ski tickets. We visitit this place regularly every winter 3 years already. Rooms are simple and clean. The position and views are beautiful. Thank you, Ms Monkova 😉

In a perfect location for hiking tours across Belianska Tatra, this place is offering best hospitality with a socialistic flair. With a rate including breakfast and buffet dinner you can still enjoy true czecho-slovak cuisine.

I have stayed for two nights, before and after a race. The location is great in that it it's more quite than the rest of the Tatras -- but if you plan on hiking straight from the door, it requires a 1000m ascent to reach even the closest pass (Siroke sedlo). The hotel still feels a bit like upmarket hotels felt in Czechoslovakia in the 1980s: there are the glorious views, the travertine staircases, but each double room comes with one key to return to the reception whenever you leave your room, for instance, so as "not to lock the other person out". But happily, the prices match what you get. The breakfast is a bit hit and miss -- no fried eggs, no fruit, and no black tea -- but the things that are there are ok -- cheese, cereals, milk, herbal infusions, all kinds of jams etc. There are about 3-10 meals on offer daily. The two I tried were much better than you would expect for EUR 5. In-room Internet is paid extra.

This hotel offers the unique atmosphere of pure nature in Belianske Tatras. Our room was very clean, cozy and the balcony offers breathtaking view (see photo attached). Breakfast has a great selection of food so has dinner. Lunch menu is a good choice too. Soup, main meal and desert was roughly around 7e pp. Hotel is situated in a great location which offers skiing, sight seeing, hiking etc. within a few minutes. The hotel has very nice and clean sauna and jacuzzi. The hotel is the only building at the very end of its street and promise maximum privacy and safety place for kids as there is very little traffic around. (only guests). We enjoyed our visit and would love to come back.

Room was clean but bathroom was a little bit dirty with old equipment. Bed comfort was average. Traditional Slovakia food was delicious. Dinner consists of soup and main dish. Rich breakfast where you can choose from different kinds of meals. If you choose room on the nort side, you will see beatufil mountain ridge .

Nice hotel on the edge of the National Park, or perhaps inside. A perfect place for starting any kind of a daily tour - to go and watch the marmots on the ridge of the mountains just opposite your window (do not get mistaken, you do need to climb there), a short way to Polish mountain lakes, too, and if you set out really early, at 4 a.m., you can make a round trip over the whole eastern Tatra Mountains. The hotel kitchen gives a wide choice of local meals - each day there was a selection from 3 different dishes for lunch and another set of 3 dishes for supper. Well, we never tried lunch, though, as the breakfast was so huge and rich, but the suppers were perfect. From this year, there is a sauna and yakuzzi, and you can play tennis (bring your own tennis rackets), or when raining we could play table tennis, billiard, or piano. Most Saturdays the hotel largest hall has a great local event - a wedding. We never tried to crash in - main reason being we did not take a suit to the mountains...What a mistake, I am sure nobody would notice another guest among some 200. The hotel is quiet, peaceful, clean, the staff is friendly, and a bit surprisingly the place has been recently discovered by Italian, German, and English speaking tourists. Fortunately, these ones rarely seem to climb the opposite hills, so the mountains are free of people, and abundant with strawberries.

This hotel is located at the beginning of Monkova Valley. Most rooms have fabulous view at hills Ždiarska Vidla and Havran of Belianske Tatry Mountains. It's a very peaceful place for people who like nature. Room in which we were staying was quite simple and not too big but we felt comfortable. There is restaurant, bar, common places where you can have a rest or meet and chat with people. The staffs were professional, very nice and helpful.

You just have to love this part of the world. People are amazing here, food's great and the drinks.. oh, the drinks... :) Hotel Magura is a very decent place to stay. It has a bit of a socialist look, but dont let that fool you. Inside, it is a full hotel with everything you would expect. I enjoyed my stay very much. And the food here is very nice.

Large hotel located at the beginning of couple hiking trails in Zdiar (Monkova Valley) off the main road with beautiful mountain views. If you don’t have a car, you would have to go to the bus stop around 15 minutes by foot. There is a restaurant, bar, common rooms, patios etc-whatever you need after the day of hiking. Volleyball field and playground for kids are nearby. Rooms were small but clean with little balconies, mountain views and bathrooms. Average standard I would say. Receptionists were very nice and helpful although they did not speak English. It was felt very relaxed atmosphere there. We paid 50 Euros per night for two rooms (2 adults, 3 kids) with 4 beds which was very cheap. Book in advance – we were lucky to get rooms since we moved there from other place on a short notice.
