I stayed here from 16/06/2020-23/06/2020
This was the first flight out of the uk for Faro because of Covid-19 but had been told that Portugal was open for tourists! It didn’t disappoint it’s beautiful out there. When you arrive at the hotel you are ask to wear a mask when inside the hotel but ok to remove whilst by the pool or eating in the restaurants they also take your temperature in reception! The hotel it’s self is beautiful and I had a front facing sea view room with amazing views over the pool and to the beach. The room is very comfortable with great air conditioning nice shower and a lovely balcony with amazing views! There is a tv in the room with lots of English channels! As you might guessed there are going to be a few changes to travel at the moment and there are for example... wearing face mask when you go inside any where but when you have sat down for a drink or meal you can take the off bars and restaurants are closing earlier around 11pm at the moment and there are and sanitation everywhere for you to use! But overall it was really nice to see a little bit of normal again! Bars and restaurants are open shops are open the casino was open the beach was open swimming pools golf courses are open and so on! Hope this helps with anyone want to get away and visit stunning portimao!

Was unsure until a few days before we flew whether holidays to Portugal were going ahead but glad they did. Even the quarantine announcement half way through didn't spoil it.
About a 50 minute coach from Faro and arrived at 11am. The side sea room on 7th floor was thankfully ready as it was quite hot and a shower needed. Room was perfect for us and very quiet. We got towels from the spa with a refundable deposit and paid 20 for a safe key.
Breakfast only which due to Covid was in 3 sittings. Restaurant staff were fine and served what you needed from the buffet. Sara especially nice even taught me a couple of words in Portuguese.
The pool area is smallish but most days were on the beach with 12€ sunbeds for 2. Several beach bars with lovely grub. Ate out every evening and you aren't stuck for choice. Plenty bars and restaurants withing easy walking distance.
Did 3 trips, all day West Algarve including Lagos, quite a choppy caves boat trip and the hop on and off bus.
Reception staff are all helpful and the mask thing wasn't an issue and felt very safe. Would definitely go again.

We visited in February 2020. Very nice clean and friendly place. The rooms have everything you need and the bed was very comfy. The safe is charged by the day and key operated rather than a combination type. The shower was very strong and you get toiletries provided.
The mini bar prices are reasonable.
There is a fair gym at the hotel which is accessible all the time. Can get a bit warm in there but better that way for a work out.
There is a cash machine immediately outside the hotel entrance which is handy as the area is generally cash only.
Right opposite the beach which is great.
The hotel is on the main strip which is also handy. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The breakfast at the hotel is very nice. We went half board plus so got breakfast, evening meal ( with one drink ) included which was also good but could do with being a bit hotter at times. Plenty of variety.
The evening meal was €19 if you needed to pay.
The drinks at the bar are good for the price. The servers especially Manuel were very friendly and quick. They served drinks at the pool area and nothing is too much effort. Manuel even took our sun bed table away to be cleaned before he brought our drinks out. Very nice person and an asset to the hotel.
The pool is heated and even under a removable cover.
Plenty of beds available for when we went.
The food at lunch time around the pool is also great value and very tasty.
If you are leaving for home early they provide a breakfast take away box( need to order ). Great touch if you are leaving before the breakfast restaurant opens.
I would definitely come back again even in February as the weather was surprisingly warn around 20 degrees.

Stayed at the Jupiter Algarve last week for 6 nights as we were attending the MotoGP. Can not fault the hotel at all. It was very busy with a lot of MotoGP fans and yet breakfast was not overcrowded or understocked. There was always a good variety and perfectly cooked food available.
Rooms were clean and well kept. Agreed with another reviewer, although the beds were comfy, the pillows were awful. Spent a while propping them up and prodding them to get them comfy each night.
We had a side sea view room with a balcony and it was superb.
We used the gym each day and although it was perfectly fine for a good work out, some of the equipment is starting to rust a bit, so may need attention soon. Also the air conditioning in the gym was either off or on low, so be prepared to sweat!!
Location was perfect for the beach and the local bars and restaurants. We walked along the beach from Praia da Rocha to Praia do Vau and I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a beach so much. It was truly stunning and the caves and cliffs gave it added beauty.
Location wise for the MotoGP it was ideal, the free shuttle bus to the circuit picked up at the roundabout at the back of the hotel, although the hotel were not aware of this when we asked them, so maybe the staff should check up on these details for busy events such as the MotoGP, because when we realised how close the shuttle pick up was to the hotel, were we amazed non of the staff knew about it.
Pool area was clean and comfortable and the bar food was tasty and not overly expensive. The pool was covered during our stay but the weather was really warm. Pool towels are available at the spa and you get a ticket which you need to return to them with your towels at the end of your stay. You can swap your towels each day for fresh ones. Spa is open 9am til 8pm.
We also visited the spa for a 90 minute circuit, which included a steam room, sauna, ice plunge, special showers, Japanese walk and multiple different jets in the pool, very relaxing. It was 17 euros each and as guests of the hotel you get 10% off. It was quite enjoyable and the spa staff were lovely.
My only downside to our holiday was not the fault of the hotel, but it was the constant presence of drug dealers asking if we wanted 'smoke' or 'sniff'. A polite no gets rid of them but it is constant, every single day and every time you walk out of the hotel to the corner, becomes tiresome and annoying.

Stayed here for a week in June 2019 and booked to go back again!
The hotel is in an ideal location situated across the road from praia da rocha beach and on the main strip of praia da rocha. Be aware though that it is a downhill walk to the beach. The marina is about a 15 minute walk away. You can do this walk along the boardwalk on the beach. There is plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
We stayed in a premium room on the sixth floor and it was perfect. The balcony overlooked the pool area and the beach. The room itself was very spacious and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The room had the usual hotel room facilities...mini fridge, tv, safe, kettle etc. The tv in the room also had an array of channels including many english ones like BBC1, ITV etc.
The pool area was very well maintained. There was never an issue getting sun loungers and you could get one at any time of the day. The pool was probably a little too cold though.
Breakfast at the hotel was excellent and there was a huge choice of food to be had. It was always being replenished aswell so it didn't matter what time you went down at. The little pancake bar was also really nice! The food at the pool snack bar was also great however service was a little slow even though it wasn't busy. It kind of felt like the staff were avoiding you! We didn't have dinner at the hotel so can't comment. The hotel had entertainment at night in the bar area.
Overall a wonderful week in the Jupiter and can't wait to return.

Dear 1992emc, What a wonderful review! Thank you so much for choosing the Jupiter Algarve Hotel and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are thrilled to hear how pleasant and delightful your holiday was. Learning that the hotel services and facilities exceeded your expectations is very gratifying for us. I will make sure to share your comments with the entire team! Regarding the pool service, we took good note of your feedback, but I am certain you will see the improvement this year. Our team is genuinely committed to providing personalized service to every guest and we are sorry to hear that in your case they perceivably fell short of that commitment. We can not wait to welcome you once again for another great holiday in Praia da Rocha. Warm Regards, Soraia S.

We came here after an error with our booking. The hotel is more suited to the saga crowd then families. We were put in what can only be described as a room that was suitable for a maximum of 2 guests with our 8 year old child and she had a put up bed but then it became impossible to move around your room or even open or close your curtains. The staff were as helpful as they could I suppose but just didn’t want to go that extra mile that you normally get. Half way through our stay we paid to move to the sister hotel at our cost and it was far better then The Algarve. During our stay we noticed a few used plasters around the sun beds that we sat at on day one and again on day three. The were just sweeping around and not moving the furniture. As I say the stuff said the right thing but took time to act. Also given that it’s not recommended to drink tap water on the continent more then a little bottle of water on arrival might be a good idea. The lunch is over priced and dinner is ok if you eat a lot and keep asking for drinks but they will only ask once if you want one so just keep asking for them every chance you get.

Dear johnbL9102AG, We are deeply sorry to learn that your overall experience didn't meet your expectations. We surely respect and appreciate our guest's feedback as they draw our attention to aspects that can be improved. Concerning your comments, we would like to kindly clarify the following: On our website, the room booked is advertised as "Standard Double or Twin Room". We are sad that it did not meet your expectations, but we would be delighted to assist you in booking a room according to your preferences next time you visit the Algarve since we have several room types with different sizes and amenities. With regards to the pool area, we will share your feedback with the housekeeping manager. Even though your overall experience wasn't as pleasant as we wished it was, we appreciate your comments and recognition towards our team and our effort to make everyone feel comfortable in our facilities. We look forward to seeing you again soon and thank you for your feedback. With much appreciation, Soraia S. | Guest Relations

Had a lovely holiday at Jupiter Algarve Hotel, Brilliant location, opposite a fantastic beach and close to pubs and restaurants. lovely surprise when we opened the bedroom door 817 and found a private roof terrace with sun beds and an amazing view. Hotel is very clean, beds are comfiest I’ve slept in, shower is excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice to see the pool attendant stopped people taking up sun beds by leaving there towels and then going out. A little surprised at having to pay for the safe in room. We went half board n found plenty of choice with food. Only problem we found is the potatoes, chips, rice and vegetables were always lukewarm. Shame uk government spoilt our holiday and changed Portugal to an amber country a few days into our holiday

Staff nice but let down by the location next to a noisy club with noise from midnight to 5am. Area full of sleazy bars. Also spoilt by damp rooms, condensation so bad even bedding damp. Buffet food was okay but meal Christmas eve and Christmas day meals very poor. Wine slow to serve. Had to ask 3 times for a glass of wine. Eventually came during my second course. Served incorrect food to those with allergies and vegetarian food limited to salad and potatoes

Dear da l, Thank you for choosing our hotel and for taking some of your valuable time to share your comments with us. We are glad to hear that the friendliness of the entire team had a positive contribution to your overall experience and we will be happy to share your compliments with them. It was our best intention to have the Christmas night lived differently, so instead of the usual buffet, we served a set menu. It eventually had much more adhesion than expected and the restaurant filled that night. Our Chef and his team always strive to provide a rich choice of delicious international dishes to please even the most discerning of tastes and we would like to kindly clarify that the Chef is always ready to prepare something according to the specif needs of our beloved guests. Concerning the noise from the street behind, we are deeply sorry to hear it disturbed your sleep. The double-glazed windows, if closed, prevent the noise from entering the room and the reception team and security is available 24/7 to make all efforts to prevent this from happening (for eg. call the authorities), when informed. Nevertheless, we will report this to our maintenance team so they can check for any anomaly with the soundproofing in the room you stayed in. Thank you for your constructive feedback as it helps us improve our services. We wish you the best and hope to welcome you back for an improved experience. Kind Regards, Soraia S.

Great location of course, right at the centre of Praia da Rocha. Super comfortable, spacious enough rooms and pleasant common areas. The pool is a bit too small for the hotels dimension, can get easily crowded and they clearly have the same old problem of people who reserve lounge chairs, even though they 'say' its not allowed they dont enforce that rule. Word of caution regarding room type - the most expensive frontal sea view rooms are all at the elevators corridor. Super uncomfortable for people like me, who value always staying at the end of a corridor as far away possible from traffic areas (which we did in one of the cheapest rooms, fortunatly). The restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner, nothing excellent but good. Just a bit noisy and dark. Nice staff all across.

Dear 432taniap, Sunny greetings from Jupiter Algarve Hotel and thank you for taking the time to share your impressions with us. We are delighted to learn that the location of the hotel, in the centre of Praia da Rocha, as well as the comfort of the room and the atmosphere of the common areas, have contributed in such positive way to your overall satisfaction. The dimensions of our outdoor pool are 15.0m x 7.5m with a depth ranging from 1.1m to 1.40m. We believe they are generous dimensions, emphasizing that it is heated every month of the year. In this area, we apply strict rules which we try to convey to our beloved guests so that they respect the prohibition to reserve the sunbeds. We are sorry that these rules are not respected by everyone, forcing us to remove the items from the loungers. We are sorry to hear that your repose time was disturbed by the room location. The front sea view rooms are in the main corridor of each floor, and we believe that one on the end of the corridor would meet your preferences. Next time around, please ask for a quiet room. Even though we can not guarantee special requests, we do our best to fulfil our guests' wishes. Thank you once again, for your visit and also for your constructive feedback that we so much appreciate. The entire team is looking forward to welcoming you again and please, do not hesitate to contact us and book a room according to your preferences. We will be delighted to welcome you again. Kind Regards, Soraia S. Relações Públicas | Guest Relations

The hotel was fantastic, very clean and wherever I was the service was fantastic (restaurant, reception, maid) I will never forget that lovely fresh smell as I walked down the 7th floor corridor! The cleaner was always friendly and greeted me with a smile as I passed by, she tidied my room so quickly and so beautifully! I had a great view of the boats of the marina and the city. As I was staying in a quiet period the pool and fintess club in the evening were for my use only! My little vacation was exactly what I wanted it to be, nice and quiet in a lovely hotel. If I ever go back to Portimao I would love to stay at Hotel Jupiter again.
I would say the breakfast was the least I enjoyed, so sorry, I know and saw how hard everyone worked but the breakfast and menu could be improved… from warm food I didn't like anything, yoghurts were tasteless (maybe change the company supply?), I don't see soy / coconut or alternative milk so I stuck to bread + cheese + tomato everyday plus cakes as they were really tasty and fresh orange juice…
bit boring
I did not attend to lunch or dinner, I think it was too expensive for one person and as I was disappointed with the breakfast, I didn’t want to risk it and spent my money to something I may not eat. I paid €10-€20 in other restaurants everyday and had fresh swordfish, prawns etc.with dessert and drinks for this price. As I said I really appreciate staff working hard but the management could improve menu, I saw the same opinions about your food online (before I booked the hotel), and I do think that you don’t have much variety or everyone taste/allergies for 4star hotel.
Another thing I was a bit disappointed - at the reception there were no leaflets or information about what to see or do in your city etc. No city promotions. Too bad, it could make tourists the day, if the driver didn't tell me I probably wouldn't know about the Old Town, lovely free Christmas train rides, Alameda, where to take the bus (and how to pay for the bus), Marina, if I go to the beach where it would take me… what cities are around… surfing and prices, the train to Lisbon, things like that, or at least the basics could really improve tourists stay. Receptionist didn’t know where I could do my PCR test as you do only antigen at the hotel, it was harder with this one as I don’t speak Portuguese, but I managed to book a test and find the place after some time.

Dear mwiol, Thank you so much for choosing the Jupiter Algarve Hotel and for taking the time to pen down this detailed review about your experience in the Algarve. We are delighted to receive your recommendation and know that you wish to return to our hotel if you ever visit the region again. It is very motivating and gratifying to know that you had a fully enjoyable experience, highlighted in our excellent staff with warm and attentive service, with a special mention to the lady that takes care of the 7th floor. It's important to receive feedback from satisfied customers who recognize our daily effort by trying to provide the best service possible. We will be sure to share your feedback with the entire team and thank them for their continuous commitment. Although we respect and appreciate your opinion, we would also like to kindly clarify that at the reception there is a counter with all the brochures and flyers about the activities available in the area (surfing, boat trips, jeep safari, wine tasting, etc). We are very sorry that you did not notice its existence, as it is at the entrance of the hotel. We appreciate your constructive remarks regarding the food variety at our buffets. Guest feedback is dearly appreciated and extremely important to us, as it helps us to continuously improve and elevate the quality of the services we offer to our valued guests. We can't wait to welcome you once again and provide you with an improved experience. With much appreciation, Soraia S. | Guest Relations
