Great place, comfortable bed, quiet, great location. Very friendly receptionists and bartenders, the concierge Tatiana was awesome and very helpfull. Probably not the cheapest hotel, but it is really nice and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay. See you in winter.
I wish I could just go through life truly believing the quote I used for the title of my review - I am positive such philosophy would make my existence much easier this way. Unfortunately, I am just a brittle human being who expects some level of comfort during my holidays. And if I am headed to the 4-star, so-called ‚elite’ SPA hotel (sounds a bit like a joke now actually) - well, my expectations go further than „some level of comfort”. Saying all that - and I do say it as a Polish person - I would not be expecting any cherries on top or topless Gosling serving me drinks every day in any hotel in my country. We’re simply not there in terms of customer service and philosophy of business and it’s something I made peace with a long time ago when I decided to stay in Poland. But - I can definitely say that my experience definitely surpassed my worse fears as to what I may be exposed to in the famous Czarny Potok SPA hotel. So, where do we begin? The biggest jaw-dropping surprise which awaited me and my husband in this „luxurious temple of serenity” ( and yes, imagine some increased level of sarcasm here, why not) was the folder left for us to find in our room (and room itself I will cover a bit later as there is definitely some comment needed there too…) saying that they would only clean the room on request (?!!!!!) and that there is a deadline for such request to be made falling at 3PM every day. I mean - f**** joking me, right? If only I knew that paying way above the average per night would mean that I need to be bothered to ask to have my wet towels changed and toilet paper brought to the place every day I would have cancelled my reservation immediately and go someplace else. Seriously. What is the point of staying in a hotel then? Of course, the first thing I did was calling the reception to specify that I acknowledge their ridiculous philosophy, but we’re already decided that we would like to have our room cleaned every day and I am not planning to call again to ensure that - I was reassured that I can consider it done and that some mail would be sent to the cleaning team to remember about us requesting such „extraordinary treatment” daily; I guess this mail got lost somewhere as we still had to deal with it every day which was incredibly frustrating if not enraging in the end. Second quite important item of my review is related to the reception desk service. It’s quite simple really, yet we were quite surprised that such stuff is not being managed at all in Czarny Potok. Well, guys at the reception desk were ignoring almost all our phone calls during the entire stay (70-80% of calls were missed and they never called us back to check what was the story). I think it should be (not a specialist here, but it never failed me anywhere else before) something from the 101 of hotel service, and right at the very top really. Be available people. You want to hear from your customers, or let me rephrase - you SHOULD want to hear from your customers. Because maybe then such reviews would be avoided as problems get dealt with onsite. And another one from „how to make your customer extremely enraged in 2 minutes” : some lad (not sure who he was, could be someone external with the key or an employee of Czarny Potok) entered our room without knocking when me and my hubby were peacefully chilling in the bed not expecting anything and anyone in the world to interrupt (by the way - the same guy walked into my room TWICE in a row using his key). When I asked him what was it about - he got really confused and said that he was supposed to prep this room for newly arriving people, confirmed with me that we’re not these people and he left without any apology. Do not remember any real apology or explanation coming from reception desk when I made my complaint either (some girl rumbled that they will make sure to identify this person, which - from my perspective - was completely pointless… What I am going to do with a name of the intruder? Hunt the place down to find the lad and start his walk of shame through the grounds with my husband playing some drums for more dramatic outcome?). Saying that this place is not exactly a beehive of activity is not saying anything - lobby bars and restaurants were completely empty the entire time. The only time when people would be seen in here were hours of breakfast buffet being open. I was truly surprised that the management of this place would allow people walking without masks and queueing in front of 5-10 different areas where one would get different elements of their morning meal during pandemic. Not to mention that most of the guests would typically skip all queues at any cost and stand maintaining maybe 1 inch distance from your butt so you would smell their morning corona breath ordering your daily scrambled eggs each time. I would say that all it takes is one sick person and 500+ people would get locked up on quarantine immediately. Much better option is to serve meals at the table during pandemic and have all people seated immediately instead of having them walking around the restaurant for every sodding slice of ham. Just saying. And the last bit - the room of course (as promised). My husband mentioned some old review when we were discussing the decor - and it compared Czarny Potok to the style of 80s hotels in US which gathered people for corporate conferences etc. I think that’s probably the best way to describe it. The hotel looks really cool from the outside, but interior reminds me of 2000-2005 Polish flats with cheap looking tiles and ugly custom furniture. Room was very small, and not very clean either. Bathroom had some basic bathtub with the shower rod hung over it (yuck…). Not to mention the aircon device producing some vivid blue light throughout the night which did not help us sleep at all. It felt like we had some White Walker staring at us all night long. So you decide if you want to be boiled or share the fate of many Game of Thrones characters every night as your insomnia progresses. Fun! And SPA. Place doesn’t have any folders with the information on SPA. You’re supposed to get all the info needed online, which is truly unnecessary. Definitely one of the worst treatments we got for 250-300 PLN per massage. Not worth it. I could actually go even further with my observations, but I think it is more than enough to help someone make the right decision and not stay there. Me and my husband paid upfront fee for a week and in the end we both wished we had stayed at home instead. One more to support the idea that we have yet so much to learn as a country to become a place to visit for foreign and local tourists with slightly bigger expectations than the old school PRL canteen style on their holidays. Never to visit again!…
Well have to admit that tried to start with smth not nice. Im good at looking so i found 🤔😁😈 the only one thing is the colour of light w in a bathroom 😂😂😂 and maybe a bit maze architecture. There are 6 building connected by the system of elevators and corridors. Rest is absolutely Perfect. Beautiful River with wooden barn with Best of the Best grilled food. Stable and fast internet connection, parking outside. Very nice illumination all over the building internally and externally. Will be back for sure 💒
My family and i went and stayed for new years at this Hotel. There is no words but to say WOW! we had a good time. everything is near the Hotel. The rooms are very nice and they are so quiet. Food at the restaurant was good. The people were nice.
Great place to spend a weekend with kids. Pool kept them happy and when not there was a great kids club, that did a wonderful job in entertaining the little ones. Service was all in all very polite and attentive. Breakfast was super good. The room we had came with a separate sleeping room and a day room, where the kids had a foldable sofa for sleeping. The hotel surpasses our expectations in such a way that the only thing that bothered me during the whole stay was the lightning during dinner buffet. The roof lights were too bland and bright and thus did not create a nice atmosphere. And seriously that was the only negative thing I was able to think of :-) Czarny Potok hotel was a lot more luxurious 5 star experience than most of the actual 5 star properties around the world. Highly recommended.…
To it is 5 star hotel. There is everything you may need for business or pleasure. Good rooms, tasty food and great recreation possibilities, among others, swimming pool, saunas, jacuzzi, spa, sunbeds, hammocks, fireplaces, mini golf, bowling, beautiful surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. And above all the service is superb - people are smiling, are very attentive. I want to return to this hotel. Thank you all stuff for making me feel like that
Our visit didn’t start that well but the staff quickly reacted and made our stay amazing. Parking was packed and really snowed under so was very difficult to park. Our room wasn’t ready so we went to the restaurant and had lunch. They didn’t charge us for drinks because we had to wait for our room. Then they delivered a whole bottle of white wine to our room free of charge as an apology for room being late. So sweet. We really appreciated it. Room is spacious and well equipped however the shower was leaking. Breakfast is simply the best. Spa area is slightly too cold but very nice. A lot of attractions for everyone. VIP area was my favourite - you can use it when it’s not booked. Free ski bus from and to the hotel. I highly recommend this place and I do hope to be back here one day. Big cudos to the staff who were all very nice and very helpful. …
Very nice place, a lot od Space to relax walk and Even Play mini golf 😍 Very Good food and helpful waiters. I will come back here again for sure for more than A weekend only. Highly recomended! Magda
It was great place to spend May holidays with my family. Children were not bored at all, they could swim, jump, spend whole day outside the room. Food was tasty, good choice, nice restaurant. Taxi to city center was around 20zl, of course you can also walk. Rooms were clean and quiet. And views around-just beautiful. I was scared it will be crowded but it was not because complex is huge one so everyone can spend time as they like-in group or lonely. The only minus is price that could be lower but it was worth to go and spend time there.
We expected a real 4 star hotel, but the rooms were not so clean and old fashioned room and the bed was very uncomfortable. the noise is really strange, you here if the upper guest is moving in the room.... First night was very cold.
