The resort caters mostly to Eastern European tourists (Czechs, Slovaks, Serbs etc.) and some random travelers who are passing by and are attracted by the low prices. The resort attracts mostly lower socioeconomic classes who are looking for a vacation on the cheap so you can imagine what kind of people hang out there. This socialist hotel has probably barely changed in the last 30 years, the attitude of the management is ridiculous, they think they are doing you a favor by having you there. The rooms are simple and super small, there are no nets in the windows so you'll get a ton of mosquitos inside at night. There's no AC and since most guests smoke, be ready for 2nd hand smoke coming from all possible directions. The location isn't ideal - there is a main building with the restaurant, then there are bungalows in the south and north of it. The ones in the south look more attractive since you'll be closer to the beach, but beware - starting at 9 PM and ending at 1 AM there is ridiculous techno music playing in Sutomore which carries directly across the water and gets amplified in the process. You can literally hear it in your room and feel the bass/drums move your stomach. It's ridiculous. We have asked the management to change our room since we couldn't endure it, fortunately they gave us a room in the North side, where it's a lot more quiet because there's a hill between Sutomore clubs and the bungalows, but the rooms are closer to the road so you might hear a ton of road noise at night if you're unlucky. The food is not very creative, but acceptable, there's a lack of fruit/vegetable variety. The dining setting is totally ridiculous. As before, they are just stuck in time and force you to sit in the same place during your stay. Give me a break, why do they have to treat their guests as if they were 10 years old... The dining room has insufficient AC and stinks pretty badly. On the top they try to maximize table utilization so if they put you at a table for 5 and you're 3, they'll put 2 random people to your table and this might lead to some awkward moments when you both show up at the same time. The beach is fine, albeit a bit crowded, but the water is clean. There's FKK beach a bit further south. WiFi is available only in the reception area, which means you have to walk like 100 stairs in punishing heat just to check your email. Again, incompetent management is trying to save dollars on buying a few more access points so you could be checking your email in the main building without having to walk all the way up, oh well. The rooms are clean, but tiny, if you're three, try to get a quad, there's much more space in a triple (which is basically a double with an extra bed, which means there's no space left whatsoever). The insulation/walls are super bad, so you hear your neighbors flushing toilet. You smell their smoke coming from around the wall. Not good. There's utter lack of parking given the number of vehicles. People are parking in all sort of random places with no space left for passing vehicles, which results in frequent scratches. If you're thinking of booking this as a packaged deal, think again - the prices you'll pay are the same as booking directly with the hotel, it's a total rip-off. If you're coming with your own car, book something else nearby, there are much better places around - this is basically a trap for EastEuro lower classes who don't know any better. We had to take a detox vacation at the end of our one week's vacation in Zlatna Obala. It worked. We'd never come here again, you've been warned, value your vacation time accordingly.

Come here with low expectations. It caters to Slovaks and Czechs and seems to have done so for more than 30 years. In fact, much about this resort hasn't changed much in 30 years. The rooms are extremely simple, almost dormitory style. The bathrooms in the nonrenovated rooms are attrocious. The food is bland and not very creative; don't expect any local food either. On the other hand, the resort was clean with greenery everywhere. It has its own small, private beach which was fine for us. It was away from the busy crowds at the public beach/boardwalk, and we enjoyed the 20 minute walk it took to get there...and were even happier to leave it and come back to the resort. For low budget travelers with low expectations, I would recommend it...just pay extra for a partially renovated room.
