A unique villahotel, where every room is different, from cardinal-red opulence of Medici or Borgia times via african art, sculpture and paintings to ladies rooms with pastell yellow, green and rosè. Guest will enjoy the view from the grand loggia or the first floor loggia over our vineyards and olive groves to the cupola of Florence cathedral. Two pools, an indoor restaurant and the herbal garden al fresco dining invite to stop and enjoy florentine and italian as well as international cuisie. The fluidum of long bygone days will be reawakened when you look at the frescoes and remind yourself, that Nicolo Machiavelli lived and worked here over 500 years ago , and it is purported that Michelangelo did some work during the 7 year's stay of Machiavelli stay here. Add to all that the winery, tasting wines at leisure in our barrique cellar or try our olive oil during our cooking classes -you have let yourself in for an unique stay with us.

We hosted our wedding here for the weekend this past September. I could not recommend this place more. The service was incredible. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The food was great. I could go on and on about the views and the wine. The wine was delicious. The rooms were impeccable. The view was unforgettable. It was the most incredible and unforgettable wedding and weekend.

All services were really bad, actually there was no service at all! The food and breakfast was terrible!! The staff left us there all by ourselves through the whole night!! The staff left from the hotel at 8:00pm! At minbar there was only water!

Similar to a couple of others in the thread below, Mangiacane have stopped responding to all emails regarding my potential rebooking after a wedding was pushed back due to COVID, I can only assume this is to allow them to keep the initial payment. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I did however try to enquire about booking normally from a different email address and they responded within 1 hour, then when questioned they stopped responding again. Such a shame for such an amazing location!

In June 2021, I booked and paid for a 10 night stay for my honeymoon in May of this year. In April 2022, the hotel contacted me to confirm both my dates and arrival. I informed them we were visiting as planned. 12 days later, they again contacted me and stated that because of compulsory building work at the hotel, they could not honour my booking and suggested booking alternative dates. I checked with my airline and was told it would cost an additional £900 to alter my flights. I informed the hotel and asked them to reimburse me. I had not sought to alter or cancel my booking with them in any way and it was they that had made the alteration. They declined to reimburse me stating they were holding me to the original terms of the booking. Hotel.com, the company through which I had made the booking, were equally as unaccommodating and passed the buck to the hotel. I received a refund only by going through my credit card company who took up my case. If this is the attitude of both the hotel and Hotels.com; they won’t be getting my money anytime soon. Beware.

Have been returning to Mangiacane for many years and every time when I am the magical place I am looking forward to coming back here. It is the best place to go for a really nice recharge! I love their rooms and the terraces, and wonderful gardens! So many great places in the area to visit and things to see. Definitely a place to be back again and again!

We keep coming back to Mangiacane for these incredible events. This time it was an unforgettable Halloween party. The food, wine, service and decorations were just amazing. And the colors this time of year are just breathtaking, the vineyards surrounding the property in bright yellow. And the remarkable statue collection in the lush gardens are just out of this world, it's like African renaissance. They also arranged a perfect VIP trip to go and see the David of Michelangelo at the Accademia Gallery. Til next time.

Wow! An exceptional weekend spent at magical Mangiacane surrounded by so much history, art and Tuscan beauty. Magnificent frescoes and outdoor sculptures greet you around every corner. A hidden gem and highly recommended for those who want the ultimate Tuscan experience. Outstanding Chianti wines and rolling vines make this a food and wine lovers dream. We cannot wait to return.

It’s magical! One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. Amazing history, service, and feeling. I try to visit at least once a year for pampering and relaxation since it’s only 4-5 drive from Monaco. I take some work with me but never get to it! :) This time I went tor an event with friends as I think they are mainly doing events. Definitely a place to keep on the bucket list.

HIGHLY recommended. Stayed five days and way to short. Staying in the Villa is like living in a fairy tale. Total attention to detail. Staff are excellent. Well done to the kitchen staff. Italian cuisine to its finest. Lose yourself during wonderful walks in the extensive vineyards while breathing in the Tuscan air.
