Tucked away in the Tuscan hillside not far from the cultural centres of Florence and Siena, we have lovingly restored Borgo Santo Pietro, a thirteenth century villa and its 100 acres of enchanting gardens, with a vision to create a bespoke, luxury private retreat. A resting place for pilgrims en route to Rome 800 years ago, this ancient site continues to provide sanctuary to our guests today.

If you make the effort to go to Sienna , just go south and stay there . It’s a unique hotel , where luxury and beauty in a very good taste are the main objective . Every thing has been thought to please the guests . It’s a very very special place Great service Great restaurants And the site is unique !

As soon as you drive up the driveway you immediately know that you are going to be staying in something special. The grounds are stunning, perfectly manicured and breathtaking . The views from the Trattoria and pool overlooking the Tuscan countryside are beautiful. The main building is full of character and the bedrooms are all a delight . Modern amenities like the TV are hidden away in the bedroom so as not to ruin the ambience of the decoration is a very nice touch. We ate in both of the restaurants and preferred the more traditional food of the Trattoria but thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the more formal one . The tuscan country side is a delight to drive around with Chianti being about an hours drive away . Staying at the Borgo was a privilege , go there you wont be disappointed !

Overall we had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, with real character in the common areas, rooms and restaurants. I think the grounds are possibly the nicest of any hotel we have ever stayed at. They are immaculately maintained and are simply stunning, with lots of different secluded areas to sit and rest. The food was very good and we enjoyed dining at both restaurants, while the Spa service was also great. Our room was nicely appointed and we particularly enjoyed the large indoor bath area in our suite. The location is a little bit out of the way but we enjoyed the drive down winding country roads to get there and the setting means beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside. There are a few things that could be improved though. On our first day our room was not cleaned until we called at 12:30, despite us being out for both breakfast and a spa visit in the morning. The bedding was also not great, with the under sheet coming off the mattress every night, such that we were in direct contact with the mattress which is not ideal. Finally while the staff were friendly and helpful I think overall service was a little patchy, possibly impacted by Covid restrictions with staff seeming a little stretched at breakfast and limited pool service (we had to go and find staff to order drinks/snacks). Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend a visit.

Dearest Borgo, We were nervous to travel after this strange and unforgiving time but you welcomed us with open arms and with the warmest of hearts. From the moment we arrived I knew we had found somewhere very special, you’re truly magical, you feel it all around and your beauty is everywhere you turn. Your air is filled with an abundance of lavender, roses and rosemary, the sound of trickling fountains around the gardens and the flickering of candles during the balmy evenings. Each and every member of staff were outstanding, the details were far and above beyond what I have seen in luxury hotels before. Thank you for making our stay one of the most memorable of our lives, the experience was so much more than we had anticipated. I didn’t want to leave you but alas until next time my love........ Thank you

We are very lucky to be spending 8 days in this beautiful resort. The pictures which you see online do not do the hotel justice - it is stunning in every way. The rooms, the gardens and the pool are very beautiful. Everything is very clean and there is an army of staff working really hard to make everything perfect. The hotel has made important steps to make everything safe during these crazy COVID times, and we feel totally safe and relaxed here. Breakfast is delicious and delivered to your table or room if you prefer. Dinner choices are great too. The owners are super friendly and will sit and chat with you. For us what has really stood out is how informal, relaxed and friendly the whole atmosphere is. It feels like staying in a friend’s house. A huge thank you to all the staff who are working so hard, always with a smile. One last thing...you are surrounded by stunning countryside. We start every day at 7 with a 10k walk through the fields. What a way to start the day! Keep an eye out for foxes, boar, kingfishers, swallows and swifts and ask the hotel for directions through the fields to their river. Pure bliss.
