Can’t praise this hotel highly enough. Beautiful old buildings, lovingly converted. We were on a cycling tour round this part of Sicily - hot and tired on arrival, Nicoletta greeted us with the offer of a refreshing lemon granita, and we soon found a lovely pool-side cocktail bar where we ordered cocktails and sandwiches which were brought over to our room. We stayed two nights snd stupidly left our passports in the room safe. We rang the hotel halfway through our cycle ride to Siracusa, and spoke to Nicoletta who immediately offered to drive our passports over to our next hotel. What amazing service - we are so grateful to Nicoletta for looking after us so wonderfully.
Baglio Sicilia This lovely Country House among the green citrus orchards really has it all! We spent here a full week at the end of september 2017 which was a great pleasure. A spacious room with all comfort, a seductable breakfast and delicious dinners made it a wonderful stay, but the passion and dedication of the Baglio team made it unforgettable! Noto Marina is an ideal location to explore the south-east region of Sicilia and coming back at the end of the day really feels like coming home.
We stayed in a courtyard room on the ground floor, opposite where the breakfast is served and this is a gorgeous room. Massive curved stone ceiling and spacious bathroom, plus dressing room with kettle and fridge. Lovely combination of modern and classic furniture made the room a pleasure to be in. Food at the restaurant was very good also.
Lovely courtyard setting in the evening. Tables well spaced and the staff are friendly. Reasonably priced and a welcome change from our hotel food. Menu is limited and food fairly average. I had the octopus salad starter and the swordfish main.
A very nice country house with loads of character, surrounded by lemon trees and very well located for a trip to the valley of Sicilian baroque. The reason of my bad review is because the room that I was given was absolutely not up to the standard I was expecting. Although I was told in advance that this was a small room, the size of the room was not the main concern. The issue was that the room was incredibly damp, with hefty amounts of black mould surrounding the shower in the very small bathroom. The room was built into a part of the property that is made of porous rock and not fit for human habitation. The dampness was made worse by the fact that the bathroom had no windows, the only window being small and high up (requiring a ladder to reach it!! Not joking ) next to the bed. When I alerted the managing staff of my concerns about the level of damp (which also created a highly unpleasant odor in the room), they seemed almost indifferent. Compared to the other rooms in the hotel (like that in which my relatives were staying) my room was absolutely not to the same standard and should not be allowed to be offered to guests. I was extremely disappointed. …
