My parents had been to this bed and breakfast before with my sister and we came back this time with me for my first time to see Sicily and where my grandparents lived. Simone Guiffrida is a very hospitable inn-keeper who speaks excellent English. The streets are quite narrow but the house has a nice large gated yard to park...

La Casa del Ficus is on a jammed and very narrow side street not conveniently located near anything. The layout has bedrooms on the first floor where the dining and living areas should be, which meant that anyone in the upstairs bedrooms would not come down and use the kitchen until other guests were up. Most importantly, the villa has...

The review is not to be trusted for the guests DID NOT stayed in our B&B, they only arrived, took a look and went away. Moreover, they did not book B&B bedrooms but the entire house which is not advertised here but in another Tripadvisor affiliate website. It is not true that the house is located near anything: the village...

This was a lovely place to hang our hats for a couple of days. It is beautiful, secluded, the perfect size for a family of four. We went during the christmas holiday and the weather was mild and beautiful.

Although la Casa del Ficus does not sit right on the sea, we could drive to the wonderful little fishing villages in a matter of 5 or 10 minutes. It is located in a typical village with the train stop a block away. The car we rented when we flew into Catania allowed us to drive all over this fabulous...

My wife and I stayed here in early October along with another couple. Thanks to Alitalia our arrival was delayed for two days, but Casa del Ficus was able to change the dates of our stay. In addition, Mr. Giuffridda phoned ahead for us and had the reservations changed accordingly in two other hotels on our itinerary. This was an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La casa del ficus is a private villa set in lemon-groves a short distance from the sea (2 km) and from Mount Etna, situated in Guardia Mangano, on the outskirts of Acireale (CT). A few hundred metres away is the centre of Guardia where all the main services (supermarket, chemist, newsagent, post-office etc.) Can be found. The railway station, with its frequent connections north to Taormina and Messina and south to Acireale and Catania, is just 300 metres from the house. The Giarre exit of the motorway is 4 kilometres away. The part of the house used by guests has recently been modernised in rustic style using typical sicilian materials; the rooms enjoy a private bathroom and, on request, also a kitchen. The guests can use their own separate entrance, a parking space in the large courtyard, not to mention the 350 sq mts of garden with its own furniture for those moments of total relaxation. Free Wi-fi. Suggested activities: trips to the fishing villages along the coast, excursions up Mt Etna (20 minutes by car), visits to the nearest towns of artistic interest (Acireale, Acitrezza, Catania, Taormina etc) ... more   less
