The staff here were great, and the facilities were clean. The food was fantastic too! Unfortunately the swimming pool is closed after the 1st October despite the 27•C heat. The road outside is extremely busy so can be a hazard to cross into town. The walk itself is a 10 minute slog uphill but when you get there it is... More

Despite all negative comments we called and booked. Although it is true that part of the structure is not functioning and in need of renovation, the part which is in use is really nice, an original 60s adventure architecture. At the moment the hotel is run as a 30 room structure, not as the original 100 room hotel/spa/conference centre/night club....... More

The bad experience started with the rooms. They'd taken a double room and simply added a bed which meant that the already tiny room was full from wall to wall with beds - no space in between and no way to open the closet. The room was dirty and stinky. Even though we left the window open the whole day,... More

Unfortunately we booked and paid in advance three nights in this so-called hotel in advance. Expecting a 4-Star-Hotel, we were quite confused when we saw the old, abandoned-seeming remains of something that may have been a luxury hotel many years ago, bearing the "Aloha-d-oro" logo on top of it. Never mind, we made our way to the reception desk, where... More

If you are going to Sicily for sunbathing, skip Acireale or anything that starts with Aci actually, and most important- skip Aloha d'Oro. I can say for sure it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. They gave us the room in the basement with weird smell and a lovely view at garden wall. Towels were horrible and... More

I thought the Aloha D'Oro was one of the worst, most overpriced hotels in which I've ever stayed and I've stayed in a great many hotels. Although it bills itself as a four-star hotel, it rates two stars at most. Most of the staff was extremely rude. The only towels in the room were like dish towels. The shower hardly... More

We stayed at this hotel in early Oct 06. The building itself is pleasant enough and our room was a good size with a nice sea view. Unfortunately the location is awful. It is right on a main road (and when I say 'main' I mean trucks and cars thundering past all day and night). To be fair, we could... More

The Hotel is located in Acireale, about 15 km from Catania on the main road to Taormina and Messina with a free secured parking lot. The hotel is at walking distance from both the town center and thermal baths of Acireale. Pleasant and original architecture, most rooms have a balcony with a stunning sea view as the hotel is located... More

This is a well maintained property in a good location with free parking and free use of a computer. It is close to the center, but located on the highway and might be noisy unless you get a room with an sea view. Walking to town is doable, but uphill and getting across the highway is no fun. The staff... More
