We'd visited Anne and David when they had a place in the Rome area, and did get down to Puglia just after they'd moved South. We loved it then, and things are even better now, despite the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. Peace and quiet in the countryside, a pool to cool off in, and a lovely cool room in a trullo. We needed a rest, and a wonderful rest we had..

We regret that our staying was too short, it was a wonderful way to live the life in the country of Puglia. The house is airy and fresh even in the middle of the summer, surrounded by olive and fruit trees,in a deep silence broken only by natural sounds. The host are welcoming and allow you to enjoy the place as you prefer. My sons appreciated a lot the swimming pool, we loved the bedroom under the dome of the "trullo". We really felt on holiday. Thank you Anne and David

Just stayed a week with Anne and David. The rental was absolutely perfect for us: my uncle stayed in a single house by himself and three of us women stayed in the other. We all had our own beds and my mother and I shared a room. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom facilities were like new (they renovated 3-4 years ago?) and kitchen was well equipped for cooking all meals. In the mornings, you just need to venture out a few feet to pick fresh figs, small wild pears, and almonds. All organic, all delicious! Anne and David were so generous with their knowledge and met our every need. You can go to the towns nearby for your simple market needs, bakery, meat grilling place/store, restaurant, etc. The place is VERY rustic, as in, it's in the middle of olive groves. There's a dirt road leading up to the house so initially it was tricky for us to find but they provided fairly good directions. We kind of had a bigger rental car so I suggest you rent a smaller one because it's easier to drive the narrow country back roads everywhere. Beautiful people and hospitality!

Year round I daydream about booking our next Italy summer getaway at Anne & David's. Anne's Place is located along a short unpaved road conveniently located to a number of sights and towns in the area. You do need to have a car to get around, but be prepared to be pampered and given expert guidance on the area in English, Italian or German. The beaches on the Bari coast are easily accessible from here. The UNESCO heritage site at Alberobello is less than 20 minutes away. One of my favourite things to do is to go to the local open-air farmers markets - there is one every day somewhere near - and prepare some of the simpler lunches with locally-produced cold cuts, sausages, cheeses and produce. In the evening, there is an endless selection of excellent restaurants in nearby towns, Castellana Grotte, Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Monopoli and Noci. Anne's Place is ideal for the seasoned traveler who appreciates the down-to-earth hospitality and relaxed atmosphere this lodging has to offer. I start my every day here with an early morning walk down the stone-walled lanes among the farms, trulli, olive groves, fig, almond and cherry trees. My kids are now teenagers, and we are loyal followers of this British couple since we stayed with them in their B&B on the outskirts of Rome over a decade ago. For us, this is a home away from home where we can have some privacy away from the crowds. Anne and David are experienced hosts have not lost a genuine joy of extending a warm welcome to travelers and holiday makers. Excellent value is guaranteed.

Stayed one week in july with David and Anne. Lovely place set in the middle of the olive trees. Quiet and relaxed. Easy to reach the beach and some nice restaurants in the nearby villages like monopoli and locorotondo. The place is a bit hard to find the first time, but if you stick to the instructions on their website you can't miss.
