We previously visited this property in 2015 when it was run by an an English family. We were very happy to see the Dutch owners continue the excellent standard and put their own stamp on it. Anja and Gerard were so warm and well organised! Nothing was too much trouble! The breakfast was out of this world, with signature dishes! Some healthy options, some indulgent treats, all fresh, local food, and always a home made star of the table made by Anja. We loved the new decor, modern yet cosy. The garden was beautiful and immaculately kept. Gerard allowed my little boys to have a look at an almond tree, and cracking up fresh almonds with stones is an experience my 4 year old still talks about a preschool. Kakis , olives, red soil, a mosaic of flowers ...what else could you wish for...a swimming pool, and it is pristine and large. There is a lot to see in the area, Trullis and the cave are the musts , but every little town is full of atmosphere and the landscapes are serene. A car is a must! Food is always excellent, not one exception, whether you go for budget or fine dining. Most places are mid-range, taverns, cafes and pizzerias, friendly service. Note the particular opening hours of venues though, follow your hosts advice and plan ahead a bit. And dont expect to get fed in the afternoon! A way out is cooking in the kitchen (charge applies), it is clean, perfectly equipped and a well stocked supermarket is only 5 min drive. The honesty bar has fair prices and a good selection of drinks, good idea. There are many books and brochures you can use and there is TV and free WiFi in all rooms. We used the family room, interconnecting rooms, very recommended for safety, privacy and convenience. Good for the kids, and good for Mummy and Daddy to have their own room. Cot provided is easy to move, so you can adjust easily to your familys sleeping arrangements. The rooms open up to the garden and have 2 bathrooms. Very clean, lovely decor in a building with history.Caring and helpful hosts, hoping to come back with our growing children to this home away from home! Other guests were friendly (all Dutch, but English speaking), and you could have a conversation, but place never was crowded. Good value, in particular off season (travelled early October, and previously early May). Honest people. You could spend 1-10 days there, I would recommend 1 week.

Owners have changed to a Dutch couple recently and they did some renovation. Current style of the rooms is really nice and cosy and makes you feel home. There is an relax room/kitchen where you can read a book and drink something. The breakfast is great. It is a combination of Italian and European breakfast with the best of both worlds. Anja and Gerard are great and warm hosts and they take care of everything and they really take care of you and make you feel home. Beds are great, comfortable and luxury and also shower is nice, this is not always the case in Italian agriturismo's or masseria's. Location is great.

A long overdue review that I felt compelled to eventually complete in order to help highlight what a wonderful place this is to stay whilst visiting Apulia. Directions provided made the Masseria easy to reach with a car and our host provided plenty of helpful information before and during our stay. Our host Andrew was warm and welcoming and the property itself is truly gorgeous with all of the amenities you could wish for regardless if you plan to relax or explore. Our room and the communal areas had all of the facilities we needed during our stay and the pool area was just right. Breakfast was ample and served with real friendliness. We will definitely be back to Apulia before too long and would look to stay here first ahead of the many other places we stayed during our previous visit to the region. Thank you Andrew and we look forward to staying with you again. Highly recommended to all.

We arrived to the Masseria with our rented car from Bari airport within an hour. It is a very nice landhouse style small B&B, located in the middle of olive trees. From here every main attracion of Puglia is reachable within a short distance, so we found the location ideal for our long weekend. As is it off the main road, having a car is absolutely necessary when choosing this location. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the owners are helpful, attentive and friendly, after the second day you feel like staying at grandma's house. Only negative point for us was the breakfast, that was mainly some - not so fresh- bread and jam, so we had to buy ham and cheese to upgrade it to our own taste. All in all a very positive experience, which I would recommend for everybody, and will certainly return here, when visiting again Puglia.

We arrived in the early evening to this idyllic spot just outside Castellana Grotte. I headed straight for the pool and the water was perfect. I love my swimming and the pool was large, just the right temperature and brilliant for doing lengths. There is plenty of space around the pool to lounge or sit so that you feel alone even with others there too. My room was very comfortable with everything you need. The en suite shower room was spotlessly clean (as was everything here) and the actual shower was powerful with space to move about. Both bathroom and pool towels were provided. I liked the windows (with screens and shutters) which kept everything light airy (there is quiet air conditioning if you need it.) The gardens and surroundings are great for walks, Pilates/yoga, plus there is a BBQ for guest use. The large communal sitting room and kitchen is very well equipped, comfortable, clean and homely. There is a large screen TV (Italian channels only) with plenty of seating on sofas or armchairs. The kitchen has everything and more and makes you want to cook real Italian dishes. We took trips to nearby Polignano a Mare (beautiful & romantic) and Alberobello (amazing trulli buildings) and the pizzas were incredible. Julia and Alex were always on hand if we needed them and they made the stay extra special. They are funny and engaging and super helpful with things to do and places to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back and stay here again.

The Masseria Cesarina is a beautifully restored building currently owned and run by Alex and Julia Iskrycki. The bedrooms in this bed and breakfast all have independent air conditioners that are extremely efficient and very very quiet! There is a swimming pool for those who are not interested in sighteeing. The kitchen is well equipped and Julia will give you a quick explanation as to how things work. After one day it was like staying with friends! I do recommend planning an early departure if possible as they do a fabulous job of cleaning the rooms between guests. This does mean a 10am checkout. The Grotte near by are amazing, and no trip to Puglia is complete without going to Alberbello. We didn't have a car and Julia or Alex will drive you if they can, and if not, they will arrange transportation. They both speak English and Italian and willingly share information about the surrounding area and restaurants! The first photo is walking from the house to the pool. The second photo is by the pool.

We have stayed 2 nights and enjoyed this lovely Masseria with nice garden and pool. Very handy if you want to visit the highlights of Puglia. Good room, clean, loved the kitchen and the garden. The pool was already closed! Julia very nice and helpful. Breakfast was not good at all. Old bread, bad coffee and no eggs, ham or cheese!
