We stayed at Villa Del Cardinale in July 2016 as we were attending a wedding nearby. The views overlooking Lake Albano were spectacular and the hotel was set amongst beautiful grounds. Unfortunately the rooms were very basic and did not fit its' beautiful surroundings.

My partner was attending a wedding at a venue 5 mins down the road, he didn't have a plus 1 but we decided to book a long weekend in Italy and make the most of some family time, spending 1 night at Villa Del Cardinale. At no point during booking the room (which was over €100 for the night) did...

The staff were welcoming when we arrived and let us check in early so off to a good start. However after a long flight we wanted a coffee and a sit down (11am) and it was seemingly not possible. We walked round the completely empty grounds for half an hour looking for somewhere to sit down and get a drink...

Not often can one be treated to the luxuries of the lifestyle of an Italian Renaissance aristocrat. The Villa del Cardinale offers just that, an incredible indulgence. Cardinal Colonna proved that he knew how to enjoy the pleasures of life when he chose the location for his villa: perched atop a steep slope with the Albano Lake below in a...

My husband and I recently stayed at the villa for a wedding. Our room was small but it was charming and had a superb view of the lake. The rate was very very reasonable for the service and view, which was priceless. The villa itself was also quite charming. I would highly recommend this hotel to people who adore old...

The reason we stay there is because the hotel was quite near the airport and we had an early flight to catch. We didn't have a pleasant stay because: 1) The rooms were very old and it they were situated very far from the main reception building. We arrived with tons of luggages, but the receptionist didn't offer to send...

Great hotel for the price - very clean and pretty quiet, too. Breakfast was adequate, but the coffee was truly dreadful! Tasted powdered, which was a disappointment. I was also surprised that there was a daily charge of €5 for wifi in the rooms, although it was free in the public areas.

It's amazing to find such a hotel in such a place. You feel as if you were part of the Colonna familly back in the 17th century. The hotel is located in an ancient villa : architecture remains as it was in the past and the rooms have very different patterns from one to another depending of their location in...
