Sonia Village Hotel garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and modern aesthetic, from the pristine rooms to the well-kept common spaces. Many guests relish the serene and intimate atmosphere, enhanced by an excellent entertainment team. The hotel's amenities, including the beach, spa, and dining, receive commendations, although some visitors mention minor issues with pests and pool loungers. Service is generally lauded for its professionalism, with a notable mention of Christos' massages. However, the sentiment on value and location is divided, with some concerns about food quality and the need to travel for more entertainment options.

We stayed here with my 2 year old and 5 year old and had a brilliant time. We’re used to staying in larger resort hotels but booked this a bit last minute and we weren’t disappointed. Its got much more of a family run hotel feel with great service in a much more intimate setting. My 2 year old has a dairy allergy and the Service manager Stavros and Chef Nikos went out their way to give us a tour of the buffet at mealtimes so we knew what’s suitable, they cooked alternative dishes to cater for allergies (including some amazing dairy free pancakes) and also over the week started to make more of what the kids enjoyed to make sure they were eating well. The kids entertainment is brilliant although not as extensive as what you might find at larger resorts but the kids loved it. Especially the mini-disco by the pool! Such a highlight of all of our days while watching the sunset and sipping on some cocktails. The kids club itself could do with updating and the kids didnt spend much time in there but its the staff that make it really fun. Overall, very good value, great service and full marks for catering for allergies. Thanks again!

Cannot fault this hotel, beautiful room,.sea view, complimentary wine. Staff amazing, food and drinks gorgeous. The spa treatments incredible , thanks to Christos. The invisible beach and pool man swapping towes and unlocking sun beds however nowhere to be seen...Quiet peaceful area. Turn left out of the hotel to a little village with some shops, also, Hidden gem turn right as you leave the hotel. Follow the coastal path, up and down to the beach when the road is busy, stunning  coves, silent, pine tree lined perfection. A 20 minute walk into Psakoudia fabulous area with restaurants, shops and beach.

The hotel itself is set in a ldylic location with a beautiful beach. There is one main restaurant where the main meals are served (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Me and my wife spent 2 weeks all inclusive. I want to say that the staff make the hotel work. They work so hard to keep holiday makers happy. Nothing is too much trouble for them! I want to name some in particular, Kristina, who worked in the main restaurant at breakfast, and then the Panorama bar. She is super friendly, helpful, and professional! Then Konstantina who worked in the pool bar area, again nothing was too much trouble, friendly, helpful, and professional. In the evening Maria worked in the Panorama bar, again super helpful friendly and professional. From the cleaning staff upto the manager they were always happy to help. It's a shame the owners son couldn't adopt his staffs attitude!!. We had a deluxe partial Seaview room which had all we needed for the 2 weeks, and was very clean. Downside to the holiday was that the food was very repetitive, and sometimes only luke warm. There is very little to do around the hotel location with the nearest local shops a steady 20 minutes walk. When we booked we knew there was very little around so we had no surprises. If you are looking for rest and relaxation then you won't be disappointed! Be aware that local beers and wines are not to everyone's tastes, and that what you can get in the Panorama bar you may not be able to get in the pool bar or main restaurant. Evening entertainment was a mixed bag. The Greek night was fun, and the Latin night was fab. Be aware that although the beach is only metres from the hotel you either access by a slight slope or a number of steps. The beach is not fine sand and the sea gets deep quit quickly. There are enough sunbeds both around the pool and on the beach, and if you take the all inclusive package then the beach sun beds are free. There is a small shop in the hotel but was a bit pricey! Great staff! Nice clean hotel! Not much around to do, but we had a great holiday.

You need to visit this hotel with an open mind and decide after you’ve stayed there that’s the first thing as it’s not for everyone but in a nutshell if you want peace and relaxation I’d def recommend it but if you want full on party action go elsewhere. The hotel’s location means yes it’s not in the middle of a village and there aren’t really any bars or tavernas nearby, they are about a 15 to 20 minute walk away but that’s fine if you want to go out and see them it’s a ok walk down the road to the village which when we were there was very quiet as it was the end of the season. Other people have said hire a car and if I was there longer than a week then this would be my recommendation too or go on excursions your holiday firm may provide. It’s worth upgrading to all inclusive if you aren’t go to go out of the hotel just to compare prices a house cocktail is 9€ so 2 of those each day for two people and your lunch and you’ve spent what it costs anyway. Previous reviews have complained about the food and lack of choice and it being cold. It’s catering for the masses and the staff work extremely hard there is always an excellent choice of salads and I can see it might be repetitive if you were staying for two weeks but my advice would be to go and eat early to get the best of it. All of the waitresses are lovely polite and working long shifts and will help if you gave any questions as does the gentleman who runs the restaurant too. There isn’t much entertainment on an evening which may not please everyone but again it depends if that’s what you go on holiday for. It was quite pleasant enough sitting on the terrace enjoying a white wine speaking to other people there. The pool is a good size I can imagine it would be very busy at the height of the season and the beach I think would be a good alternative if you don’t mind the coarse sand. We had booked a junior suite which was a good size but oddly enough was on the lower ground floor of a block so didn’t have any view which was the only thing that was s negative for me. The room was well equipped with a fridge that had bottle of water when we arrived. The shower was powerful and water always hot and the whole complex was very clean too. A week here was enough if you want to relax and chill out.

READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING. Pro’s - Cleanliness is one thing this resort has got going for it. Everywhere is very modern and kept very clean. You do not have to get up at 06:00 for sun beds as a lot of people go down to the beach. The staff are helpful and always polite. Con’s - The food is extremely poor. There’s not much choice, it’s all cold and the food on offer is stuff I don’t think many people would choose. There is also not much food for kids at all, even the fish fingers and chicken nuggets are not nice at all. The food did massively let this hotel down as we were hungry a lot of the time. The area is another negative, it is extremely quiet and doesn’t feel too safe, it’s also a 25-30 minute walk even to a supermarket. If you’re happy enough to not leave the resort during your holiday then this place will be perfect. The beach isn’t great as the sand is mostly bricks and it’s extremely crowded as the sun beds are so close together. You will always be lying in the shade as you can not put the umbrellas down. There was no entertainment on for any of the nights we were there which made evenings extremely boring. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel but that’s due to the area and the food. Definitely improvements to be made and should be a 3 star not a 4.

Stunning Resort - Came as two couples looking for R&R, Sun sea and sand and couldn’t fault it. Spotless, friendly and amazing food. Accommodations was lovely and beach beautiful. Staff were friendly and two of us booked massages at the on site spa with Kristos - highly recommended! We had the most relaxing time - very chilled atmosphere.

Lovely hotel clean and regular maids. It is a bit out of the way, ans abt 20mins walk to the very small town. The hotel food was lovely, we upgraded to all-inclusive. 7 days was enough as we would have liked more than two days of entertainment for adults as there is very little to do in the evenings, but we made the most of it. The staff were friendly and worked hard. Plenty of loungers on the beach and not far to walk, although for people with walking difficulties, little hills.

First of all please don’t be put off by the negative reviews on here it not that bad! This is our first time at Sonja Hotel in Halkidiki. We stayed as a couple, had a deluxe room with partial sea view and was half board. On arrival to reception they ushered us to our room and took care of our cases. Our Room was spacious and very clean. There is a safe in your room which is free. The room has a coffee machine, fridge and microwave (the coffee machine does not fully heat water hot my advice is take a travel kettle to make your hot drinks). The Rooms are cleaned daily as well as towels changed and bedding changed every 3 days. We had a free bottle of wine on arrival in our room, a food bag to eat and a big bottle of water (as we missed dinner). We were very happy with our room. MiniMarket on site - this is very limited provides items such as water, squash, crisp… not a lot else. There is a bar - entertainment such as Greek singer/ group/ dancers. Half board: the food was ok; we have had worse! Breakfast - the usual breakfast; good variety of cereal, hot cooked food such as bacon, eggs, mushrooms, fresh fruit. Pancakes and hot/ cold drinks. Dinner - this varied every night; cooked meat such as steak, fish, chicken, fresh salad, various greek food which differed every night, they even had plant based dishes! Also puddings varied from night to night. Overall we felt the food was above average; although we all have different taste buds! We would just like to mention waitresses Mary & Vasiliki and waiter Dimitris; they were all very pleasant/polite, helpful and very professional - well done guys! In fact we found all the staff very polite! Massage offer - if you book a massage within 48 hours of arrival you get 10% off. So a massage was taken full advantage of - Christionas was excellent, he was very professional and knew his job well! You must take a massage from him! Pool/Beach - pool was ok; nice and clean, sun beds were available. Beach was nice, plenty of sun beds. NEGATIVE: the sun beds are chained up, I am unsure why? You have to go to the bar on beach to tell them you want a sun bed - this older man leads you to where you want your sunbed and he unlocks it! If you are half board or bed and breakfast you have to pay 5 euros a day! The hotel does not tell you this; which is a negative for this hotel! The older man also needs to smile as we found him quite intimidating and rude! TRIPS - we went on night trip to Athitos, this was well worth it! NOTE: there is not anything outside the hotel - this hotel is very secluded- no taxis, buses, shops, pubs etc. There are 2 supermarkets one to the left and one to the right of the hotel: a good 20-30 minute walk. We did find one restaurant to the left of hotel down the road. We would not stop in this area again as it is to quiet for us and not enough for us to do! NOTE: We would stop at this hotel if was in a busier area!

Looking forward to my first holiday with my partners family, it was in memory of my partners late mam Sonia, it turned into an experience never to be forgotten! Arrived mid afternoon 18th August only to find out they had overbooked, 4 separate bookings ended up as 7 adults sharing 2 rooms and not the 4 rooms we had booked and paid for, we headed back to reception to discuss they advised it was not their error but their booking agency error !!! 10.30pm they allocated 3 of the family the original rooms, my partners brother was told his room would be sorted Saturday and to wait for a phone call, late morning 4 of is was asked to go to reception, upon arrival the reception staff informed us they had finally sorted our rooms we had originally booked, I told them me and my partner was now settled and unpacked in the original room they allocated, we were then told that wasn't possible as it was an executive room and if we wished to stay there it would be an extra 450 euros per night and that out of courtesy they 'allowed' us to stay the Friday night!!! We then had to repack and move to the original spec of room we had booked, appalling service. Several days later there was a letter in 2 of our rooms offering a free relaxation massage, the letter was a standard formati no apology for the two days disruption. Now to the food, our booking was all inclusive (our first ) we were looking forward to it, how disappointing it was, the quality and variation was not the best, most days had the same selection, spaghetti bolognese twice a day, fries, chicken nuggets etc etc. I would definitely NOT recommend this resort.
