We really enjoyed our Holiday at the Glavas Inn. From when we arrived the staff are so friendly and amenable, with special mentions to Anna, Demetri, Kostas and Pedros. The hotel is clean and you can see that the staff put in a lot of effort and take pride in this regard. The rooms are clean. We had a family suite that was essentially two rooms with adjoining doors to the balcony.
The Glavas Inn is about 5 minutes walk to the beach and has its own Bridge across the busy road. To the right of the hotel are bars and restaurants about 30 minutes walk along a fairly quiet road, about 15 minutes walk to the left is a village with more bars and restaurants along a busy road. Thankfully Pedros runs a shuttle bus on a Tuesday and Thursday to this village.
The food is great with a lot of variety, we were so glad not to see alot of beige food that many hotels provide!
The grounds are lovely with amazing flowers and gardens around the pool. Be prepared for everyday to be a leg day up the steep hill, though this is made easier by the lift upto the idyllic roof garden.
We would gladly return to this hotel!

Our double room was clean, simply decorated and very comfortable.
We woke up to an amazing sea view and breathtaking landscapes it was just beautiful the pictures does not do it justice it has to be experienced. A great selection of breakfast dishes is served from 7am to 10am. Staff very helpful really polite and friendly. Sanitising stations at all entrance to the communal areas masks must be worn in inside spaces all meals and beverages served by staff so we felt very safe and looked after. I would definitely recommend all inclusive as the food is absolutely delicious, I enjoyed every meal, my compliments to the chef.
The pool side is a lovely space surrounded by olive trees palms and other plants, it is spotlessly clean with one main pool and 2 jacuzzis and comfortable stylish seating areas. The bar serves hot and cold drinks throughout the day and plays a great selection of jazz and chill out music which creates a perfect atmosphere to simply relax.
We loved the beach which is absolutely fantastic just 5 minutes from the hotel. 2 sunbeds pay at reception just €5 all day, the beach was not crowded the sea was intoxicating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and just want to thank the Glavas family and staff for creating such a great atmosphere and for being so friendly and welcoming.

These are challenging times, things have to be done differently and the balance is a fine one. The Glavas has perfected this tricky tightrope act. The hotel is stunning with breathtaking views over the bay toward Mount Olympus (sunsets! ). We witnessed faultless levels of cleanliness during our stay, everything was spotless. i.e Christos at the pool bar, without intrusion, ensured that all sunbeds and furniture were cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. The pool/gardens are stunning with plenty of comfortable furniture and ample shade. As mentioned, difficult times require work rounds and the food service at the Glavas has been adapted to a buffet style. Guests select from the fantastic range and are served by attentive staff. The choice is expansive and delicious...clearly home cooked...and includes plenty of traditional Greek options... I tried something different every day! Bravo! We stayed A.I which includes beer, wine and Ouzo until 11 pm..you can pay at the bar for extras. Not that you'd want to leave the beautiful poolside but across the road ( via the Hotel's own footbridge + elevator) and down a steep-ish path is the local sandy beach. Wade out to your shoulders in crystal clear warm water. The hotel rents 2 sunbeds & parasol for a mere 5 euros a day! What really marks out the Glavas Inn Hotel as exceptional are the people. A family owned and run hotel where you'll find great pride taken in offering , in my opinion, a 5 star service with warmth and generosity.

The hotel is very nice. Rooms are basic and at present they are not offering cleaning or towel replacement unless you specifically ask. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, which would be greatly appreciated and maybe offer a complimentary bottle of water in the room fridge. Make sure to ask for a sea view to take in the beautiful scenery. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The food options are varied and their Greek dishes are superb, not too sure about the other types of cuisine they attempt though.
They could really do with a lot more products in their 'mini market' it is very sparse. There are are no magazines, puzzle books, limited medical supplies or basics like milk, bread, icecreams and very few snack options.
Beach access is difficult when coming back up steep steps and pathway. There is a walkway to a lift but this only takes you across the busy main road outside of the hotel and goes down to the top of the steep pathway.
There is one local mini market down the road but their stock is also extremely limited. To get to a larger mini market you will have to walk over a mile and in the heat, this isn't a pleasant walk. Near to the mini market there is also a few small souvenier shops but not great options for gifts etc.
If you are looking for a pool/beach holiday with very little else to do, then this is the place for you; for the more adventurous traveller, this really isn't where you want to be.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for reviewing our property regarding your recent stay. Due to Covid-19, we cannot enter the room daily based on our government's measures. This is why we are giving information, upon arrival, regarding our cleaning procedures. If a guest want to have the room cleaned daily (sheet & towel change), he/she have to ask for it (this year that we are experiencing a pandemic). Thank you very much for your kind words regarding our staff, cuisine and the scenery. Best regards, Petros Glavas

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in September we could not fault anything about this hotel. On arrival our bags were taken to our room and introduced to the reception staff. We got given our wrist bands on arrival and got told to go and get some dinner from upstairs.

The food was all fresh home cooked meals and freshly grown produce. The food was cooked with care and there was all variety from different meats to vegetable patties. The salads were freshly made and 3 different types at some points these were beautiful and could not fault when you have some of there home made olive oil. There was a different dessert every night whether this be cheesecake or mousse. Please don’t be put off by the reviews saying about the food as there was some people who clearly live off fast food and don’t know what fresh home cooked food is!!

The pool was fantastic there was enough beds all round the pool and on the grass too. The pool bar served local beer and local spirit ouzo. There was white, red & rosè wine all included.

The pool is quite remote but it is just perfect for a quiet get away around the pool and to recharge the batteries. There is a bridge from the hotel leading on to the beach where the sea is clear and sand is lovely. All staff are helpful with local towns they booked us a taxi on several occasions taking us to nea moudania & Nikiti.

The reception staff also booked us a boat trip for €55 which we couldn’t fault they advised us we will be given lunch which was fine as the boat had a on board bar which served all beers and spirits at a reason price. All our belongings are safe on the boat when in the sea as everyone leaves the boat so it is the captain and his crew minding the ship whilst people jump in or are getting escorted to shore.

All in all if you are looking for a lovely break to unwind and relax with lovely home cooked food and astonishing views from the roof top this hotel is for you, where as if you are looking for fast food and boozy holiday I suggest sticking to Benidorm as this is not for you.

Thank you to all the staff at the Glavas Inn. We enjoyed every moment and felt well looked after and loved seeing Tara & Lucy.

Billy

We landed on 11 august in Thessaloniki airport and travelled 1 1/2 hrs to get to Gerakini. We was welcomed at reception and had to have our tempreture taken and was given our key and somebody took our luggage to our room as it was late.
The staff all wore gloves and visors and some also wore masks too, there are plenty of sanitizer stations and people constantly cleaning everywhere sanitizing as soon as somebody has left a table or a sun lounger.
The food was authentic Greek with a good amount of choice and I have 2 young kids and they were very happy.
The staff bend over backwards for you and make you feel so welcome and are genuinely the key to what makes this hotel a lovely relaxing stay.
The only fault we found was that the shuttle they put on for you to get into the town was not available due to covid which did put a damper on us going out locally to see the surrounding area.

Glavas Inn is neatly tiered up a small hill within 5 mins walking distance from a pretty tree lined beach. The complex is very clean and tastefully decorated. We had a sea view from our balcony which was gorgeous. The food is always very fresh and varied. The dining area has an outside terrace which is lovely and you can catch the sun set if you are dining late. The bar staff and kitchen staff are great - always greeting you on arrival. There is an independent bar and taverna located on the beach which is worth visiting as the food is beautiful. The pool bar offers free wine, beer, ouzo and iced coffee until 11pm. I would recommend this hotel to those who are not looking for an intrepid break. There is a more built up town (Gerakini) a mile or two down the road but I personally wouldn’t bother visiting (it’s a dump). Alternatively, you can walk in the opposite direction and find more beaches and tavernas. The highlights of my holiday were sitting on the beach, swimming until early evening and tickling the tummies of the hotel dogs.

After booking the Glavas Inn the good reviews seemed to decline slightly, so we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect. On arrival our first impressions were good. We had a warm welcome from Alexandra in reception, our bags were taken to our room and she advised lunch was still being served. Our room 115 was superb with spectacular pool & sea views (Mount Olympus at sunset) the only small downside was the room could of benefitted from a small chest of drawers & a shelf above the sink, we didn't miss a kettle. Housekeeping came every day & towels were changed daily, even when we hung them up. AirCon was brilliant. The Pool area was exceptionally clean & drinks were served in glasses.. civilised, all inclusive drinks were beer, red, white & rose wine, iced & hot coffee! Food was wonderfully fresh & Greek and judging by the aubergines, olives, lemons & tomatoes in the gardens, home grown too. The small shop on site is well stocked. The beach is beautiful and 2 sunbeds & umbrella are 5 Euros a day, you are issued a key / number to unlock your set, we chose to keep ours for our last 5 days and paid when we checked out. Looking at the sea and walking right will give you a 2k walk there and back which was great in the mornings. Nowhere was easily accessible from the hotel, buses & taxis were non-existent and difficult and as the hotel is on a busy trunk road, walking is not really an option. Although the road is busy and we were very aware of it round the pool, you can't hear it at the beach and it was unobtrusive from our room. The Glavas is situated on a very steep hill and although this didn't define our holiday it would need to be considered by some, lots of steps & hills even to & from the beach. The main areas of the hotel are exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated... so Instagram worthy! and the staff are lovely, hardworking and approachable. If you are looking for an all-inclusive that is 'all singing & dancing' / ALL drinks are free / endless entertainment / everything on your doorstep and 1000's of food choices don't come to the Glavas Inn. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, to sunbathe, read, swim and beach walk in the day and at night gently enjoy drinks and the occasional entertainment (1 Greek night & 1 night with a Sax player) play cards & chat in superb surroundings this will be your bag. Thank you all at the Glavas Inn Hotel & Resort for our wonderful stay.

I want to start by saying this hotel is very beautiful, clean and modern. Some reviews I have read explained the food was not amazing and didn’t have much variety but we thought the exact opposite, the food was always delicious and had so much choice.

The beach is beautiful and just a 2 minute walk (be careful of the jelly fish), you do have to pay £5 a day to reserve 2 sun-loungers. There is also a nice beach bar which has comfy sun-loungers you can use when buying drinks. (The drinks were quite expensive for what they were.)
The restaurant just behind the beach was lovely but make sure you ask the price of the fish before ordering as we didn’t ask and ended up paying £70 for one fish which wasn’t that good.

The room was always cleaned to a good standard each day but it was quite small and didn’t appear as how the pictures made it look. There was also a steep hill you have to walk up and down everyday to get to the room or reception which was absolutely fine for us but if you are not as able it could be hard. There is a lift but only takes you about half way up the hill.

Unfortunately the alcoholic drinks were not good, all tasted watered down and got a bit boring after a few days as there are no cocktails or spirits included in the all inclusive, just wine and beer. When we did buy the cocktails at the bar they tasted amazing (some of the best cocktails I’ve tasted). All the waiters and bar staff were very nice.

We would definitely recommend hiring a car through the hotel, even if just for a day as there isn’t much going on around the hotel in walking distance. You can walk to a small town which is about a 25 minute walk, which has some nice restaurants, bars and a little supermarket. The hotel offer a free bus on a Tuesday and Thursday that drops you off in the town at 8:00 and picks you up at 10:00.
When we did hire the car we were recommended a few nice places to go which was lovely but the main place we wanted to see was the caves which has been closed for years.

The mosquitoes were quite bad at night, I had 40 bites all over my body but the 3rd night and but parter was covered in them too. Definitely don’t forget your mosquitoes repellent and after care!

This hotel is a lovely place to come if you want to wind down with your parter or family. It was very nice for us to come and relax and get away from our busy lives back at home.

The hotel has many great aspects, its super clean and the food is the best I have ever had. It's freshly made, traditional food, produced each day. Great coffee, the drinks on the all inclusive package are great, including the wine.

The pool area was clean and well appointed, however, we did struggle with the steps into the main pool which are metal vertical steps with long gaps between each step and the pool edge. They were a little slippy (which I experienced on several occasions) and they could do with being replaced with sloping steps. If you have hip and /or knee issues it's not the pool for you.

The toilet facility for the pool and bar needs consideration though it would be costly to change, there are two toilets to serve the pool and the bar which is very limited. they are also up steps or a ramp. The toilets were clean.

The whirlpool was great but would in my opinion benefit from some periods of time for adults only. I understand that this would be difficult to monitor.

We also saw a lot of people drinking out of glasses in the whirlpool. I did mention this but felt that our concerns were not considered valid. I'm certain if a glass had been smashed in the pool then this would have led to the pool being closed for at least a day.

The seating around the pool area was great, really clean and comfortable though often we saw people unable to get sun beds. There were always plenty of tables and chairs available instead.

The rooms were spotless. We were offered rooms lower down the hill but we had no problem with walking up the hill-which is steep-again if you have mobility issues you need to consider this .

The shower cubicle was a bit small, so again if you need more space you will need to think of this.I believe the newer refurbished rooms had bigger shower space so could be requested. It was great having a fridge in the room.

Around the resort there were quite a few steps which is only to be expected on a hill site but needs to be considered when booking.

The staff were really friendly and helpful (other than the concerns re glass in the pool) and the staff in the dining area were really efficient and friendly. We had an issue with the safe in our room which we reported as we went to breakfast - and it was sorted out by the time we got back to the room 30 minutes later!

The owners have two lovely friendly dogs onsite.

The beach was nearby, over the road and down steps and a lift, not easily accessed if you have mobility issues. But nice beach.

There was transport to local village twice a week which was great but there wasn't loads to do in the immediate area. You could book trips from the hotel though if you wanted to.

The gardens are beautifully maintained and the view from from the roof garden is spectacular.

Overall this was a lovely relaxing week for us.
