The stream of mentions of “run down and requiring modernisation” comments must not out a bad picture in your mind. These are define to British hotel standard’s and the hotel is perfectly adequate. If you want luxury then ai recommend you paying for such thing. British want low prices but want hotel to modernise.

The hotel is very clean, the staff are outstanding and the hotel has everything you need.

The facilities are excellent around the pool and there are older sun loungers you can set up on the beach. We were skeptical a out the ability to switch between pool and beach but they are intertwined.

The pool bar is fully stocked; Was very chuffed to find 0% Beer chilled in bottles. The bar team make an excellent coffee Espresso Freddo Longo, perfect!

If you plan on spending your entirety in the hotel room then maybe find something a little more modern. If you want a clean hotel with adequate amenities then this is the home for you. Where else can you sit with beers on the beach watching the moon reflect the moonlight.

If I am not corrected my immediate family have visited the hotel 6+ times and we will be joining their annual trips to The Summery because this place is special.

Well what can we say that hasn’t already been said.
Family run 3 * hotel great location close to the beach that’s cleaned weekly great pool no life guard but lots of adults around the pool at all times be warned that when the filters are on there is on intake filter that is very strong intake.
The hotel and pool are spotless waitress service from around 10am -1800 ish. The staff are all very friendly and willing to help in anyway possible always smiling always happy.
The hotel provides breakfast yes it’s pretty much the same every day but lots to choose from eggs cereal toast fruit cold meat cheese tea coffee & juice.
The rooms are clean and spotless sheet and towel change they are not massive but what you need is in the room good aircon make sure you shut the balcony fully to make the air conditioning work sea views are the best if course to wake up to see the sea is always a plus the sun is up early but you can block out the sun by the use of the shutter.
We only had one issue that was the curtain in the shower was a little grubby but one call and it was replaced within the hour they are not massive showers but they do the job at the end of the day you sleep you shower you get changed and that’s all you need TV don’t expect anything but Greek channel but they do show BBC world service and English films and the odd uk program.
Honestly you got much wrong with the hotel great location waking distance to the restaurant shops and ferry car or bike hire can also be found locally.
The town has all you can ask for all local speak English among other languages all very friendly
We were lucky to see the local school and young performance of dance what a fantastic free show.
Restaurant are plenty don’t just stick to the ones on the harbour ( bit more expensive)
Ask for local wine in carafe or 1/2 it’s as good as any of the bottles they are very expensive if you buy bottled wine we didn’t have one bad meal all around €30-40 with wine and beer or soft drink.
The town is very clean we didn’t see any rubbish around they have street cleaners it a very family Focused town where family comes first we felt very safe and welcomed.
Loved it we will be back thank you hotel summery for a wonderful holiday thank you to all the staff who work so hard to make us feel so welcome they are a credit to you.
Please hotel owners pass on our gratitude to all your staff they are very important to making this hotel a success.

This was our first time to Kefalonia and this hotel.

We stayed b&b and breakfast was a mix of continental as well as beans, scrambled eggs with mini sausages and was the same each day but there was enough chose to mix it up.

The hotel itself is in an amazing location and overlooks the beach and bay if you have a sea view room, unfortunately we didn’t. Reception and the breakfast room/bar is well maintained and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

I can only speak of our room, it was very dated with cracked tiles in the shower which had silicone in them and the toilet door was broken on the edges. There was limited room for clothes only one cupboard and no hangers but the bed was reasonably comfortable. The room was at the front of the hotel and the balcony overlooked the road and was very narrow.

On a plus side the room had aircon and a fridge and was free which is a bonus as on some Greek Islands you have to pay extra for these. Though dated the rooms were clean and the cleaners were in everyday, bedding and towels were changed every other day. 😁👍

The outside gardens and pool area for the hotel are great with loads of beds with a good pool and beach bar. You step straight out onto the beach from there, like being in a 5 ⭐️ hotel.

All in all for the money, if this hotel underwent a refurb with its amazing location you’d probably being double the price so you get what you pay for and at the end of the day the room is to sleep in 🤭 would I stay here again 100% definitely, thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, Lixouri and the Island itself 👍

Appears lovely in pictures but in reality in need of major refurbishment. The communal areas were freshly decorated and bright.Reception area welcoming and staff friendly. The room we were in, a twin was small and the beds pushed together which would not allow you to get in and out easily. We separated them and put the bedside table on the opposite wall so there was room to get the fridge door open. The beds were firm and got a decent sleep on them. The bathroom was outdated, old worn out tiles, cracked and attempts made to patch up in areas. Screws to hold the shower in place were rusty. Shower was ok if you didn't put water pressure on too high.
The balcony was nice overlooking the pool area and sea beyond. However the railings were badly in need of repainting.
Air con was adequate but a bit noisy.
The room was kept clean on a daily basis if you requested it. We had to ask every night for tea bags and coffee as was not filled up each day.
I wouldn't recommend breakfast for us British folks as consisted of salad, cold meats and cheese, bread, tasteless cake and watermelon. You could choose fron the a la carte menu, we tried the omelette but was pretty dry. We chose to eat out each day. The breakfast cost 12 euros a day.
We did have an enjoyable stay, the proximity to the centre and the beach made it easy to access. Unsure how often /when the pool was cleaned as noted grime around side some days. The bar (outside)had a happy hour between 17.00-1800.The cocktails were pretty poor, did not taste like the real thing. Would not advise.

This hotel is based right on the beach.
The reception area and indoor bar area is really clean and well maintained.

There is lots of outdoor seating including deckchairs, egg chairs.

The pool area is fairly small but has ample sun loungers, it's situated next to trees and the beach and needs to be maintained and cleaned more regularly the area needs to swept throughout the day to keep on top of it.
The kids pool was un usable due to people washing there feet after coming back from the beach..
The pool bar is small but cosy and do a wide range of drinks all reasonably priced.
The bar staff are really good and you get table service around the pool which is a bonus. Dina was amazing never too much trouble when you needed anything.

The room we had was very dated and the typical shower off the wall and sticky curtain but itherwise adequate enough with free air con but to be honest the view was amazing from our room and it didn't matter about the small issues.
Fridge, kettle and TV as standard.

Would definitely re visit.
Ideal location about 400m from the ferry port you can walk from the port don't get a taxi.

Nice little find

Just returned after having the best time ,this hotel offers everything you could want on your holiday the pool area was so pretty and went directly on to the beach plenty of sunbeds some of which could go on the beach and a lovely pool bar which also served snacks the main restaurant in the hotel had a bigger menu and it was really good value and big portions we had a seaview room it had everything we needed and it was kept spotless by the fantasic housekeeping team towels and bed linen changed frequently.
Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of selection and replenished quickly and efficiently by the staff.
The girls on reception were friendly and approachable as was the lovely gentleman who did the late shift, this was our first vist to the Summery but will definitely return in the future.
A big thank you to Joanna on the bar for looking after us you did a great job Thank you all at the Summery you we're all amazing and a big part of making our holiday special and memorable

We had a lovely holiday. The Hotel is rated as a 3 star, but the room we were in was more of a 2 star. I believe some rooms may have been refurbished, but ours hadn't (309). The actual room wasn't' too bad, but the bathroom really needed a makeover or cleaning, the shower did look a little mouldy when we arrived, but after our two weeks stay it was awful. it was never cleaned during the two weeks.
The maid came in every day, emptied the bins, swept the floor, removed the top sheet and folded it up and left it at the bottom of the bed, which meant every evening you had to put the sheet back on and struggle to tuck it in at the bottom. The surfaces in the bedroom or the bathroom were never cleaned during our stay.
The doors to the rooms had old fashioned locks, using a key and brass fob, which every time someone used it, it echoed along the corridor, and as for the person coming back on a night and dropping it five times, thanks very much.
The view from the balcony was great, with a table and two chairs. However, the door out on to the balcony was so small, you had to turn sideways to go through it, OK I'm not a size 8, but I'm not huge.
The pool area looks lovely with some comfortable sunbeds, but unfortunately people are out there at 6.45 am putting towels on 'their' beds. There are notices asking you not to, but the usual selfish people still do, then go back to bed and appear again at 11.00. There are plenty of other less comfortable sunbeds which overlook the beach and to be honest you get more sun on these beds, as the ones around the pool always seem to be in the shade as you cannot put the parasols down or move them.
The lunchtime food is lovely, and the bar staff work hard looking after you and bringing food and drinks to your sun lounger.
The breakfast is basic and still being served to you from behind the covid screens, but it was the same very day and the scrambled wasn't the best and my husband was served with a plate of cold beans one day, they hadn't even been warmed at all, but they did go put them in the microwave for him when he complained.
We did try to speak to the Jet 2 rep about the room, but just got told "well is what the Greeks are like", we have been going to Greece for 40 years and no they aren't.
As I said we did have a good holiday, but the hotel wasn't for us, however some people did seem to return year after year (not sure why), probably the location which is excellent.

I have given my 4 stars for this place on location. The place is a perfect location for the many tavernas by the sea and the square. It is literally on the beach with a beach bar and has a fantastic pool area. As many have mentioned, the rooms are adequate and are a tired looking, but due to location and that you spend little time in them, this can be overlooked. But electrics are dodgy our room and floor blew a fuse and we never got our electric back for some parts. We got a main light, tv, fridge, and bathroom light working but was advised not to use the kettle or hairdryer. We did and it was actually ok. Air conditioning and safe in rooms are free. Our air con didnt work and we melted. We had a sea view room and the views were amazing. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is good lots of choice from cereal, toast sausage and eggs, fruit. Food is also good but much cheaper at the tavernas, also drinks are watered down a lot by lots of ice and are more expensive. But we used the place just as a base to stay. We missed the air con though and even when we mentioned it was broke it never got fixed and we melted at night. You have a supermarket across the road. One day trip that costs you nothing is when you come out of hotel turn left and follow it until it stops there's a beautiful beach with taverna about a 20min walk in heat but worth it. If we came to this part again we would definitely stay at summery hotel again just for location and views. Expect a ferry trip once off plane this was something we wasn't expecting especially when we had a very late flight

Hotel Summery is in a great position with a supermarket nearby and the square with plenty of bars and restaurants only a 10 minute walk.
The pool is clean with day beds and sun loungers, there are also loungers and chairs/tables positioned in the surrounding garden areas which gives a really nice atmosphere. There is a bar with excellent waitress service and snacks available daily. The sea is just beyond the pool with loungers available if you prefer the beach which is also clean and safe. Breakfast is good although you have to queue to have the food served which is rather "clunky". The room had a nice balcony with a great view, air conditioning worked when you were in the room which was fine. The electric shutter on the balcony doors was adjustable for the light. There is a safe and fridge which are handy. The bathroom is small and the shower exceptionally so, it desperately needed a refurb but was spotlessly clean. The communal areas inside and out are really nicely presented. By far the best part of the hotel are the staff who were always polite, helpful and go above and beyond, particularly Dina who is an absolute gem. We enjoyed the BBQ night and dancing. Overall we loved it for the people, the authenticity and the setting. If you want a fancy, soulless resort hotel this is not the place for you.

Overall had a great time at the Summery a great position just a couple of minutes walk from the town and with a wonderful pool area leading onto the beach. Rooms a little dated and in need of an upgrade but kept clean by the wonderful
maids. A great resort at Lixouri for couples with lots of restaurants producing some lovely food.

All but one member of the staff were very friendly.

As stated before breakfast can be a little repetitive but all in all ok.

One little moan, we had a late flight ,the blonde receptionist who was very unhelpful during our stay said we could not keep our room on for just for a couple of hours and that they could not provide a room so we could freshen up before our flights. A disappointing end to a wonderful holiday by one member of staff who wasn’t going to help.

Our room was still unoccupied at 6pm so we could have easily kept it on until at least three.
Come on Summery surely you can provide a room so guests can freshen up before their flights it’s not too much to ask.

Hello, Thank you very much for your interest and also for the opportunity you are giving us to answer a question many guests have been asking. After careful consideration we have decided not to renew our contracts with British Tour Operators for summer season 2024 as for the following months we will be in the process of redesigning our facilities and services and determining our rates accordingly. We are going to be able to accept individual bookings for summer 2024 and beyond starting from the 1st of April 2024, if not earlier. We will also be posting our news on our website and social media during the winter. You may reach us through our website or via email, phone or DM. Thank you again for reaching out, sorry for the inconvenience this necessary delay causes and looking forward to having you again as a guest at the Summery.

Hello, Thank you for your message and sorry we have not replied sooner, for some reason it went unnoticed. You are probably still a guest in our hotel right now, so you know that both a travel cot and a high chair are available at the Summery and that babies are more than welcome and adored at the Summery!

It is a major problem you all know it is . If there are towels on sun beds staff should remove them . As normal guests do not get to use pool area because of towels on beds and no people ! You have signs up stating no food, drink to be consumed around the pool unless bought from your bar ,police that rule don’t you .

Hello, thank you for your interest. Unfortunately this year we haven't been able to find a group of dancers and the additional staff that was needed for a Greek Night and therefore we do not offer any.
