The Hotel is very nice. The room we slept in was nice warm and cozy. Breakfast downstairs in the Schafstahll was very very nice all nice decorated with Christmas stuff.
The only problem was the Restaurant inside the Hotel...there was 2 waiters's which was very stressed. We was waiting one hour for our food. They was walking around with out asking us what we would like to have to eat. And I have to say the Restaurant wasn't full! Well...the food was ok but too salty.

Maybe the place and hotel are not widely known - this does not matter, as it is really a romantic place. Located on the grounds of an old but decommissioned monastery, this cozy hotel and restaurant is linked to an array of fish ponds. These have been constructed in the 19th century and, mostly still in use, contribute to the fairy-tale landscape in the central German recreational area of the Harz.
The hotel has recently be implanted into old buildings and offers modern-day comfort. And, of course, the in-house restaurant serves creative and delicious specialties - mostly fish.
