From their website: "europe first supermarkt-theme hotel..." ... "our unusual Design and Exceptional Service you can dive into a exceptional Themeworld between".. etc. etc., blah blah and more blah.. Bottom line is this: very average hotel experience, rating 3-point at best, but due to the very cheap beds and poor sleep quality, I rate this 2 points. See the photo.... More

Ok So sleeping on a pillow looking like a giant ravioli is different, but no less comfortable than a pillow with frilly bits. Ideal for a quick business trip, maybe not for the ideal romantic city break. Most of the rooms are sponsored by a supermarket brand and done out in their livery, so kinda interesting, if blatantly commercial. They... More

I have stayed in this hotel last month due to business issues. I do not understand at all the thema of the hotel but anyway here it is my feedback: The rooms are really spacious, as well as the bathrooms. Sleeping quality is very low, since most of the rooms are direct to a quite busy street from 6 am.... More

Dear guest, thank you very much for the rating. We are very sorry, that it was too loud during the night. For your next stay, we recommend to reserve a room back of the hotel. Also you can ask the next time our receptionist for a late check-out - that's possible mostly. We hope to welcome you again and wish... More

Tryed a few hotels in Neuweid with no luck. Wasen`t able to find a decent one for a decent price. We had given up and was on our way out of town when we saw the Food Hotel. We stopped the motorbike and we got a great room for a great price. It`s new and fresh. Very big sized rooms... More

Very friendly staff, excellent WiFi, great breakfast. Be aware there are two different buildings to this hotel, one with minimal dorm-like rooms and the main building with food themed rooms. The theme rooms are great, plenty of room, good amenities and clean. Staff went out of their way to help my elderly Mom and Aunt. Overall, I would come back... More

A hotel, based on a supermarket concept. Honestly! Who thought this one up? I HATED the style of the hotel- it’s more like a hostel than a hotel. Lots of students present. Decor was too stark and minimalist for me. No curtains on the windows; photo's of food brands throughout. Trade food magazines in reception (yawn) More like the style... More

Themed rooms and somewhat spartan fittings take a bit of getting used to, but the rooms are huge, the beds comfy and the WiFi works. The bar and restaurant are large with a reasonable range of dishes and some self-serve food options. My only grumble is the hot water boiler failed so we couldn't shower on the final morning and... Desperately needed to get a place to work whilst staying in Germany, the Food Hotel in Neuwied obliged with free 30Mb WiFi, allowing me to get some urgently needed work done in their bar/cafe. Staff VERY ATTENTIVE, and provided continuous supply of reasonable priced coffee and free tap water and occasional "is everything OK sir?" Sadly the young lady who... More

I went on a choir trip to Neuwied, our twin town. I was a little apprehensive at staying in the guest house rather than the hotel as I am at the stage of life where I am used to creature comforts. I found the room basic, but perfectly adequately-appointed with desk, sufficient power points, comfortable single bed, duvet and pillow... More

The hotel is located downtown Neuwied within easy walking distance to the pedestrian area. The rooms are clean and spacious. WiFi and LAN is available for free in the rooms. The decoration fits to the theme 'supermarket'. The furniture is basically constructed out of profiles and boards you can find in supermarkets too. The result is quite ok. The menu... More

It might not be that quiet especially if the room is looking towards the parking lot behind the house. This is where the separate entrance for the students is located.”
