The Berghotel is located at the end of the main commercial area of St Andreasberg up on a hill overlooking the valley in which the town nestles. It's conveniently just above the depot of the local bus from Clausthal-Zellerfield. When I stayed it was ultra-low season and the hotel and restaurant were quiet. The staff were friendly, despite some language difficulties we managed to get our respective messages across. The room was smallish with a tiny ensuite (which would definitely be a squeeze for larger guests), but with excellent views across the valley. The restaurant was good with a bewildering range of menu options (many local or locally-influenced). I was leaving on the early bus so the staff left a breakfast tray (as well as a coffee percolator!) in my room for me, which was much appreciated.
