I ended my hike of the TMB at the Hotel du Bois and it was convenient and handy to the end of the trail for me. The room was sufficiently sized for a solo like me with twin beds which gave me a bed for myself and a bed to sort out my gear and back for the trip home.... More

My friends and I started and ended our hike around the base of Mt. Blanc at this hotel. Because of a medical emergency, I had to leave the trail in Italy while my friends continued on the hike. After several days in Aosta, Italy, for treatment and recovery, I needed to return to this hotel to await the return of... More

Pros: **The hotel is convenient to TMB. We started off our trip here. **We easily left our luggage in Chamonix (to collect at the end of our hike), and took a local bus back to Les Houches. Very simple. **Ask for a room at the back of the hotel facing the mountains, which are stunning! The rooms at the front... More

It's a hotel without the sparkle. The rooms are distressed. Though not in a good way! Not feeling quite clean enough. Disappointing start to TMB. Better food in restaurant. The servers were upbeat and friendly. Given free bus tickets! It was just a short walk to the start of the walk.

The rooms here are tired, the walls scuffed, the double is two singles that sag in the middle. The plumbing was basic and towels were not replaced. Breakfast was the worst I have experienced in a long time. Coffee from dispenser was foul, cereal options horrid, pastries undercooked and greasy and fruit salad was apple. It feels as though they... We stayed here after the walk down from Brevent on our 1st day of our Tour de Mont Blanc. The room was a double, for 3 a bit of a squeeze for my 10 year old son. Pool was ok, cold and could really do with a lick of paint and an update. Evening meal was quite an experience. We... More

We spent our final night at the end of the TMB at this property. The room was nice with lodge style decoration and had a little terrace outside our room with a nice view. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast, typical of what we had in other hotels on the way, was delicious. Unlike many of the hotels,... More

We had a triple room, which means there was an additional single bed placed in the room. It left very little room for walking around or to place luggage. The room was clean and there was hot water - 2 things we needed most after hiking. It was great to have washer (there were 3) but there was only 1... More

Nice hotel to start your TMB trail, especially if you have a room from which can view the end of the trail with the Christ Roi statue. Very nice dining room with standard dinner and breakfast. Room maintenance is average - table collapsing and good luck with finding out how to control the reading lamps! Don't forget to ask the... More

We were welcomed by a friendly and helpful staff. Our room had a picturesque view of the mountain side. The rooms were lodge themed and clean. We had some issues with some of our electrical outlets. The free wifi was responsive. For dinner we had a choice of 3 entrees on our half board and they were generous portions. The... More
