We had the pleasure of staying for a very special family holiday in March. It was perfect size for our family of 11, the owner is fantastic and will help in anyway. Only few minutes drive to many ski slopes. We did a mixture of eating out and cooking in and the chalet never felt

I got to spend some time at Chalet Annabelle this winter and I loved my stay in this comfortable Chalet. The views are incredible on a sunny day, which can be enjoyed from the dining table, the jacuzzi or the upstairs bedroom. The new owner is awesome! He is an extreme sports

Its situated on the more quiet and beautiful chalet area above and east of Les Houches. You get sunsets with a view of Aiguille du Midi. The chalet itself got everything we needed. Long table for dinners, cozy living room. The bedrooms are great, all of them. And the house got

We booked this Chalet with two other families, being our first time on a winter skiing holiday. The other two families have stayed at various luxury skiing accommodation in France and Canada and had high expectations on our stay at Chalet Annabelle. The week we were here, Les

Many Thanks for taking the time to review us Peter, we appreciate your feedback, however as you'll understand we are naturally disappointed at your rating and comments. When I took over as the new owner in mid December the Chalet had 100+ 5 star ratings with numerous annual TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards, which speaks volumes. Having received an email from you post holiday which did not raise these issues you now mention, I only think it fair to reply. You are correct to initially mention the severe weather conditions the Alps has experienced so far this Winter, the most snow recorded in 30 years fell in a very short space of time before and during your arrival. As this was the case, the Chalet road was not cleared to it's normal standards, and like all French villages, walkways are only available on the main village roads. The Chalet is marketed as a semi rural position on a no-through road, 500m from the nearest bus stop. For that reason in all our literature and advertising websites it is highly recommended all guests both Summer and Winter have a far better holiday experience with their car. It allows full flexibility to enjoy the diversity the Valley has to offer with 5 ski areas plus more just outside the valley. I know from looking back at the email correspondence at the time of booking and before arrival, options for transport were provided on a number of occasions, and the elevated position of the Chalet was also discussed at length verbally with the previous owner - yet you still decided to go against our recommendations. Sadly the one vehicle you had rented, was equipped with summer tires, which we helped to park for you guys, as well as offering to pick up chains for you. The Chalet is a 3 story traditional alpine build, which has two driveways. The upper driveway has just one step into the main communal area which has 2 bedrooms off, suitable for guests with wheelchair access needs or indeed knee injuries as you mention. The Lower Ground floor of the Chalet houses the Children's play area and heated boot storage, the upper floor 3 bedrooms, all stairs are of normal build in keeping with the Chalet construction. I am sorry you had a knee problem whilst you were on holiday, this must have been so frustrating with the weather as well. In terms of the maintenance issues you raise, like all things machines sometimes do breakdown, and it is how we handle the inconvenience to guests that is especially important. Although I am still unsure why the Dishwasher burned out, I opened up my private area to your group which gave you access to an alternative dishwasher, access to the heating system, and utility area with additional washing machine and tumble dryer, I also gave you full access to the linen/laundry store for replacement towels etc. As you will have seen each bathroom and bedroom has drying facilities and clothes maids are available. I am also at a loss as to what happened with the Hot tub, when it is very windy, its important that the client makes sure the lid does not move and becomes partly open. This is not something we can check at all times. As you had a Hot Tub at home I took comfort from allowing you to administer the chemicals and temperature freely, however going forward I will continue to organise via my Management team to avoid any issues. Due to work I personally could not be on site for the whole of your stay, my Manager Rachel had full authority to oversee any issues, which I believe she did so in a professional and timely manner. To end, we are naturally disappointed Chalet Annabelle did not meet up to your personal expectations, however we are pleased to hear you found the Chalet comfortable, warm and the kitchen well equipped. All the best, Jokke
