This is an old stone farm building that has been beautifully modernized. It clean, comfortable in a rural setting away from town. It’s the perfect place to stay to visit the Pont du Gard. There a well marked foot path to the bridge. Friendly staff. We ate dinner here twice and it was lovely.
We stayed three nights with two kids and it was a perfect stay. Staff is amazingly friendly, food is terrific, pool and ambiance is quiet but very chill. Rooms are spacious and equipped with all needs (frigo, airco, bath/douche,...). Builing is beautifully renovated with respect for the surroundings. One little negative point is the location next to a big road that sometimes gives some annoying noises...
The staff here are exceptional. Friendly and very helpful. Large suite but on a busy road. Dinner on the terrace was lovely. They should do more with the bar area. Fabulous buffet breakfast which should please every nationality. Nearby is the spectacular Pont du Gard. A must visit.
Excellent small hotel with smiling conscientious staff ensuring our comfort whilst maintaining our safety after four months of confinement. Lovely large pool area with shade provided by the olive trees and good restaurant which didn’t disappoint with food sourced locally with all the flavors of the south with a surprising twist. Possible to walk to Pont du Gard from the hotel.
Stupid as we are: we booked our stay while their restaurant is usually closed (mon to wed). So we could not experience their meals which seemed very well prepared on their web site. We had the suite # 8 which is spacious and gives to the back of the building and away from the "route départmentale" which can be quite noisy. The breakfast buffet is ok. A good location for visits of the vicinity incl. Point du Gard.
The overall quality of service at Begude Saint Pierre was very poor. The hotel is clearly under staffed, for example the reception was mostly unmanned and the bar the same, where we had to rely on the services of a wholly unqualified young assistant who had never made a gin & tonic before! We decided to dine at the hotel and were appalled by the meagre portion sizes. Our subsequent bill was excessive in light of the small quantities we had received. Although the breakfast was good, it was definitely not four-star quality. In fact, our ‘Superior Double’ was pokey, dated, the difference in quality having stayed at another four-star hotel in Orange just before was tremendous. We made a complaint during the meal about the food and on leaving, as nobody else had made a complaint they just disregarded it. We shall never return to this place again!…
Stayed here when driving to Spain recently. Lovely property with lots of character . Staff were super friendly and helpful. Lovely outside terrace and pool area . We had room with an external terrace which was perfect to relax on. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the evening we went so had to find alternative arrangements . We had lunch there and food ( vegetarian platter and cheeses ) were excellent. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful building with lovely attentive staff (especially Agatha). Continental Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. Small Dinner menu which didn't change during the week we were there but still enjoyable. Unfortunately because of a few issues we could only offer a 4☆ rating. First one was we were offered a free bottle of Champagne as we had booked for the 7 days. On our 3rd night in the restaurant we had to ask for the Champagne but the waitress didn't understand and brought somebody to the table who questioned us about it which made us extremely uncomfortable. Second one was the lack of storage in the room. Single wardrobe and that was it....No drawers or cupboards. 2 people staying for 7 days...We had to live out of our suitcases. Third issue was the lack of air conditioning. It was very hot and uncomfortable and we couldn't open the doors onto balcony either because of the mosquitoes. But although the room was average and we experienced these problems the Coach House and outside areas are beautiful and we would still recommend this to anyone visiting this beautiful area.…
We came for a relaxing weekend, and whilst we enjoyed our trip I’m not sure we’d come back to Bégude Saint Pierre. There were some good points; the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, and incredibly helpful when it came to organising taxis and restaurants etc. The pool area is also very nice and quiet (with the exception of a LOT of wasps which I appreciate can’t be helped!). However there are quite a few things that just made the whole weekend ‘ok’. The rooms are nice with the shuttered windows, however with the cheap MDF furniture and wobbly plug sockets I think I expected a bit more for a four star. We actually moved rooms once we got there because the first one had a lot of noise from the road when the window was open. The second was the air con (or lack of) - we never really got to the bottom of whether it was broken or non-existent (we were told both by different people) but we both slept very badly because of the heat over the weekend. If they don’t have air con, I definitely suggest they get it for the summer months! We ate in the restaurant which was ok, but a fair bit of style over substance - beautifully presented dishes, and my octopus was very tender, but the flavours didn’t blow me away. It also seemed on the website that they did a lighter lunch menu, but when we tried to have lunch on a relaxing pool day we were presented with the same menu as dinner, so just wanting something light and simple we got in the car and went to Uzes (gorgeous sardine open sandwich at Terroirs for anybody looking for recommendations!) Breakfast was also a let down for a place that seems to put a lot of importance on food - continental only (which was to be expected) but coffee from a machine, not fresh juice and a very basic offering of pastries, meats, cheeses etc. Just think we expected a bit better quality of what was on offer. The location is also a bit remote unless you want to drive or get taxis - we did anticipate this when we booked, but just to flag that there isn’t anything really within walking distance (especially of an evening). We did walk to the Pont Du Garde one morning though, and that was great, so it’s a great location for that. All in all, lovely staff that can’t be faulted, and we did enjoy our weekend, but wouldn’t return.…
We had an perfect one night stay here. The hotel is adorable. It's in an old (16th century i believe) building that has been renovated. So many cute spaces. The outdoor area near the bar, the pool area, etc. Room was comfortable. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Dinner in the restaurant was terrific! It's just a 15-20 min walk from Pont du Gard. We hiked up there in the morning before we left. Great to come in the back way vs thru the touristy entrance. An additional perk to staying here! We loved our stay here.
