I spent two nights at this friendly and very comfortable chambre d'hote. The warm welcome set the scene for a most enjoyable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the genial hosts. I had the best breakfast tea served each morning along side a delicious breakfast of freshly prepared fruit, homemade jams and gateaux. The evening meals were of top... More

La Gourmantine is a jewel in the lovely crown of Polignac. On arrival we were greeted warmly by Daniel and shown to our rooms. Having travelled 270 by motorbike we were ready for the delicious evening meal prepared by Monique and served very attentively by Daniel. The whole ambiance of the place was welcoming and we were looked after very... More

From the start of our transaction with La Gourmantine, they immediately made us feel at ease. We booked La Gourmantine upon the recommendation of a friend. When I emailed them, inquiring about the room availability, they were very quick to reply and because we were in the Philippines at that time, they decided to waive the deposit fees in order... What can I say? Anyplace that serves chocolate mousse, delicious chocolate mousse, for breakfast, has to be good, and it was!!! This is a small, charming B&B, in the lovely village of Polignac. Daniel and Monique were excellent hosts and our little room was clean, quiet and comfortable. They offer a very reasonable and delicious dinner that we enjoyed with... More

We stayed at La Gourmantine in September 2013 on a driving trip through Auvergne, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Daniel and Monique are great hosts, we will always remember them kindly. They are active travelers themselves and fun to share stories with. The food was fresh, delicious, and homemade. The best dinners we had in France were at La Gourmantine -... More

Polignac is a charming and quiet village perched on the side of a rocky outcrop looking up to a 10th Century fortress. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with charming touches that compliment the solidity of the house. Monique and Daniel obviously take pride in their chambres d'hotes and making guests feel comfortable, Food excellent and plentiful with advice and... More

We stayed at La Gourmantine in July, 2012. We received a very warm welcome from M and Mme Chaulet, and when we took a moment to relax in the tranquil garden in front of the house Mme Chaulet brought us coffee and biscuits! Our room was very comfortable, and Polignac is an absolutely charming village that rings (literally) the imposing... More

A very unusual and different bandb. Comfortable with a good sturdy bed. The shower worked but didn't hang up on the wall. Pleasant food and the breakfast never to be forgotten. An experience we wouldn't have missed.
