Apartment Skoda has to be one of the nicest places to stay in Novalja - I booked a 2 bedroom apartment in July for my parents to stay with me during their trip through Croatia and I was VERY happy with my choice - having looked at the range of accommodation options available in Novalja - Skoda should be at the top. The 2 bedroom apartment was huge with a large balcony and also a beautifully appointed kitchen - so whilst we only stayed one night and did not get the chance to cook, if you were staying longer the facilities would be perfect. The apartments were spotless and the surrounding garden is beautiful and green - creates a feeling of tranquility. You can book direct with the apartment owner rather than through a booking website - this way you can make sure all the money is going directly to the owner and not being lost in commission to all those awful booking websites.
Lastly the price for the apartment was fantastic - much cheaper than many of the other options offered in Novalja with far superior quality.
Stay at Skoda - you will not be disappointed.

My friend and I stayed in the studio apartment on the ground floor of Skoda’s apartment complex. The room was really lovely. Immaculately clean, plenty of towels and lots of room. The bed was also really comfortable. There is a lovely small seating area outside the apartment where we could enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.
Skoda was so accommodating, polite and helpful during our stay and ensured we were checked out quickly to make our way to Hvar.
Thank you for a lovely stay in Novalja!

We came to Pag (Novalji) from Rab Island as it was the only way to get to Zadar and the bus didn’t leave until the next day.
The apartments (6, I think) are in a large home a 5 minute walk from the ferry dock in Novalji - in a neighbourhood of large homes with apartments (sobe). As usual we had a bit of problem finding road signs but finally found our way when we saw an advertisement for SKODA (signs always on wrong side of road behind you). The bus station to get out of Pag is 1.4 km away - taxis don’t run in off-season, walk is 20 minutes.
The apartment was much larger than most with lots of wasted space and a massive foyer and large eating area. There is a full size fridge, small freezer, cook top & oven. The apartment was nicely painted and had brick walls & tile floors. The bathroom is very large with a huge bathtub but no shower stall. The furnishings are older. The cupboard is poorly stocked with broken or well-used items. The bed almost on the floor creaks every time you move. There is a nice private ground patio with table if you like to eat outside.
Positives:
- the owner/operator has some English and is very pleasant
- there is a large grocery store PLODINE only a 5 minute walk away - maybe 300m (to the left and up). We bought a roasted chicken there
- a swimming pool (looked nice but too cold plus to use and we were not sure if it was for guests)
- great for large groups of young people who are here for the festivals who don’t mind basic and large accommodations near the events
- pleasantly decorated (pictures, nick/nacks)
- everything you need in the way is tables/chairs/sofa bed, etc. but very basic quality
- private & quiet
- location
- has a kettle, coffee maker, toaster, large fridge/freezer. Everything you need.
- air conditioner (but in the foyer not in the living or bedroom area - strange.
Cons:
- the apartment was damp and smelled stale
- no bottled water available
- we froze all night as there was no heater or heat (ground floor with tile and brick walls). The comforter in the cupboard appeared not to have been used for a long time and smelled musty so we didn’t use it
- the smell of Raid (bug killer) almost made us sick. There were even little packages of raid repellent to put in a wall bracket out in the open
- ANTS - yup everywhere even crawling all over my feet, sitting on the couch, as I am writing this review. We even had to put our garbage outside in order not to attract them
- broken knives, filthy worn cutting boards and other old utensils (and appliances such as a dishwasher) that ALL need replacing. Dishes, cups & pots/pans are all okay. Although keeping an ashtray in with the glasses seemed off base.
- a gas stove top that only works if you have a lighter or match - but of course we don’t smoke so did not have one and it was too late to bother the manager. Thankfully there was 1 electric burner we could heat up our dinner.
- the bathtub has a shower head and the faucet for the bathtub is broken or turned off. Plus the water only comes out COLD.
- kitchen faucet if turned shoots water out all over the counter
- crappy bedding - no quality here
We actually think with the glass stove not lighting, no heat, no hot water that the gas was not turned in (perhaps to save money at our expense)?
There are lots of other options in Novalji that would be a far better choice. Even at 40€ a night for 2, I would not recommend SKODA. At the corner of Zadarska coming towards SKODA - nice new house with apartments.

Incredible property. Fairly new structure, Very large rooms, beautiful appointments and decorated. Good off beach location. The owners run the place and go out of their way to make you welcome and do what ever they can to assist. They have designed the place to utilize the greenery and bushes and plant to create natural sound and privacy barriers.
Excellent value, When we there the city center hotels wanted over 150 Euros and we paid 40 Euros for much nicer accommodations.

We're not sure what we expected, but this wasn't it...Apartments Skoda is without doubt the most beautiful place we've ever stayed.
Despite being just the 2 of us, we were lucky enough to land the spacious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment. The apartment was stunning and immaculately maintained, with sweeping tiled floors, traditional decor and a fully equipped kitchen.
The location was amazing too; the beach is just a few minute's walk away and there's a supermarket around the corner (perfect for stocking up your pre-night out fridge!)
Nb - the owners don't appear to live onsite, so make sure you have their phone number to hand so that you can let them know when you're arriving. We found ourselves knocking on other apartment's doors & calling the number advertised outside, but to no avail!

"ok, this is like a B&B however with large apartments, full kitchens, great balconies and no Breakfast. There is a pastry shop about 50 meters down the street. Tip 2: They don't have a pos device for accepting credit cards so make sure you have enough cash. Tip 3: Taxi to the city center will run 5-10 euros... It's an easy walk if you like to walk."Read full review
