Bily Kun is on the main square in the middle of Loket, a picturesque West Bohemian town not far from the main spa towns. The village itself is small enough to be friendly and safe for kids, and near enough to lots of activities to keep everyone in the family interested. We stayed for three nights. On one day we canoed down the Ohre to Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad) catching the bus back. On another we toured Marienbad and the sulphuric swamps of Soos. On the last day the village had a medieval fair with knights, music, falconry displays and food stalls.

Were were six, with four kids aged between 17 and 12. The hotel put us up in two rooms next to each other and both were spacious, spotless and with spectactular views of either the square or the Ohre and mountains behind. The service in the hotel was mixed and apart from breakfast we didn't eat there, but the hotel manager more than compensated for the inexperience of some of his staff. He bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable and he did. I'd recommend Hotel Bily Kun to anyone.

We were there only for breakfast, but it was so nice, delicious and the staff was excellent.
We came at 10:00 and asked if the breakfast is possible, yes of course said the lady. On the door was written that the breakfast is served till 10:00. We asked before in other few hotels on the square, and the answers were not very professional...
The restaurant where the breakfast is served is very charming place with a great view to the romantic square. All the food was fresh and tasty, the lady brought also some fruit in small bags as a snack for our children. We were very nicely surprised, how beautiful the morning in Loket thanks this amazing breakfast was.
Thank you very much for your kindness. We will come back, and we will be pleased to recommend you.

This hotel is well situated in the centre of Loket, which is a lovely little town in the North of the Czech Republic (near to Karlovy Vary - 'Karlsbad').

i found the manager and his staff all very helpful and couldn't have wished for a better stay - pleasant, clean room with comfy bed and good-quality fittings.

I had a drink on the terrace (lovely views) and ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The service and the food were extremely good. I'd recommend the chicken breast with tomatoes and Camembert!

I stayed here for 3 nights and can't deny that its a satisfactory budget hotel in a good part of lovely Loket.

The rooms are light and bright and have ensuite bathroom however I found myself lying in bed itching a bit and suspect it was from the duvet cover. After the first night a number of doors in the hallway were open because of the morning checkouts. I went to look at their rooms and noticed that the beds had been stripped but not the duvet cover.

In this hotel they they put a sheet on the mattress but do not provide a 'top sheet' and thus if they are not changing the duvet cover its a bit random in my opinion. As I said, the bottom sheet and pillow case are fresh but not the duvet and thus you might want to carry a sheet of your own if your after a hygenic sleep.

The breakfast in the morning is fantastic. The wifi in the hotel is 1990's wired. Its only available in the reception and doesn't work in the restaurant at all.

The interior carpets of the hotel are all old and dated.

Response from Bilykun, Manager at White Horse Hotel
Responded Jul 19, 2013
Dear "Advancebooking", I'm very surprised to see your rewiew about changing bedclothes at our hotel. The duvet covers are changed on every check-out, every 3rd day of staying (if guest stay more than 4 nights) or in case that the bedclothes are stained during the staying and of course on EVERY check-out. It seems that you was wrong when you wached just a part of chambermaid's work. You may take a look at the cleaned and ready for accommodation rooms... It's a pity that you share your wrong opinion on Tripadvisor. Best Regards, Hotel Bily Kun manager

Hotel Bily Kun, situated in the heart of small but lovely Loket, has rooms that are in line with its budget-friendly prices. The service of the family who operates the hotel, though, elevates the Bily Kun to the highest level. Bend-over-backwards work ethic stands in marked contrast to many other Euro hotels I've stayed at. And a huge, made to order breakfast that was the best of American and Euro morning fare. And easy parking, too. Way worth staying here.

My girlfriend and I went to Loket, which is a small town in the Czech Republic. Not a whole lot of information on accomodations is available - so we chose the Bily Kun based off a mention in a guidebook. The room was fairly cheap, and the front desk staff friendly & helpful - note that they don't take credit cards.

The room itself was relatively large by european standards, but very, very plain - not a single picture on the walls, or any decoration to speak of. Additionally, the bed was not terribly comfortable.

On the plus side, the room looked directly out over the main town square, and the room was very clean. Breakfast was included and was so-so.

After we arrived we walked around and discovered that some of smaller penzions might provide better value & higher quality rooms - Ulrika looked nice and is on the square, Penzion ve Skale also looks new & nice and is just outside the center of town (5 minute walk).

We returned to Bily Kuhn (White Horse) for our wedding anniversary. In the meantime, the hotel has been renovated sympathetically but the new owners are just as welcoming and helpful as the old ones were 25 years ago. They simply couldn't do enough for us. A very nostalgic few days in this romantic little town!

Though our contemporary room did not make the most of the history of this gracious hotel, it was extremely clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. Service was very welcoming, and extra pillows were supplied for our comfort. Breakfast was very good.

This hotel has been welcoming guests to this unbelievably photogenic town since 1899. It occupies a prime location right on the town square with on street parking (very cheap) in front.

We were greeted by Hiliarijus Ribikauskas, the hotel manager. He was the most welcoming, helpful and friendly member of hotel staff we met during our self-driving tour of the Czech Republic. He spoke excellent English and could not have been more charming. Hiliarijus was the only person who offered to help with our bags the entire fortnight.

Whilst the rooms are functional rather than luxurious, they are more than adequate for a short stay. You can choose between viewing the pretty town centre or a view out the back overlooking the river valley that surrounds this beautiful town. Ours had an lovely view of the castle – magical when illuminated at night!

The hotel has recently been refurbished so that, at least for the moment, the restaurant only serves breakfast. This was a shame as there is now no access to the shaded terrace seen on their website. Breakfast was very good and judging from the number of guests we saw there this hotel is deservedly popular.

A well run and efficient hotel. A joy to visit.
