My wife and I visited for our honeymoon during the last few days in the area. Our visit was during the week so at times it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. I really can't complain about that. We were super impressed by the room we got. It was beautiful, spacious and had a private tub on...

Great room, beautiful view, exceptional services, outstanding hot spring... Overall supper good!!! I was worried about how to get to the hotel, but they told me they can pick me up at the station. So relief for a first time visitor and alone traveler. This time I save money to treat myself a great night in a private hot spring...

My husband lived in Japan for 6 six and I've been to Japan 4 times. The room with a private onsen in Rurikoh, we both agreed, is the best Onsen hotel/ryokan we've ever had. It is HUGE: two beds, a separate living room on tatami, another separate area for couch and TV, a Balcony with chair and desk, a separate...

I've always wanted to go to an onsen ryokan but boy, aren't they expensive! After going through almost the entire list of ryokans in kaga, I decided on rurikoh - and I didn't regret it. Yes, I still paid a bomb, but let me explain why it's worth it. First, I got a beautiful room with my very own private...

Lots of options to carefully choose among before booking. Both western and japanese rooms. The latter are very large. Also can have Options for personal room ofuro. Half board delicious. Some front desk Personnel speak very good English, all clerks are deeply polite and available. Amazing onsen open 24h. Think about rent-a-car or cycle. From closest station very interesting and...

My family (2 adults, 2 children) had the good fortune to stay here. The staff were very accommodating, despite the language barrier. One fellow was particularly helpful, acting as our interpreter as we ordered dinner. The facilities are beautiful, with great attention to detail. The Taiko Drum performance in the evenings was charming, all the more because the performers enthusiastically...

Rurikoh is a wonderland in itself. It's a true Japanese resort experience. The staff speak limited English, so the adventure begins from trying to book the shuttle bus from the station. They are nevertheless friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the tea hot. The view over towards the giant Buddha is beautiful. The onsen is luxurious - the...

There was some hiccups initially in getting to our rooms as there was some renovation ongoing, and you have to use different lifts. However the place is big. It has big public bath area, outdoor onsen and sauna. It also has an outdoor sitting where u can immersed your feet in onsen. There was a new half performance and we...

A luxury one night stay for us on our three week holiday to Japan. It was the middle of winter and extremely cold for us. My wife and I stayed 1 night in Chaya, Kanazawa and then 1 night in Rurikoh. We paid for 1/2 board for both. Rurikoh is of better value. The room is more spacious, private tub, separate bedroom and beautiful view. The dinner was sumptuous and big spread - quality and quantity. Good transit from Kanazawa to Kyoto.
