We stayed in a traditional Japanese room for a couple of nights. The tariff includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, so is very reasonable. Service was excellent and the food was great. We tried both Japanese and Western breakfasts and each was carefully prepared and presented. Dinner was a multi-course affair in the two restaurants we tried. There are...

This ryokan is located in Yamanaka Onsen, Kaga-shi, Ishikawa Prefecture. It was the last ryokan we stayed in the recent Chubu Trip and as a result we had already got a lot of good experience and likewise raising our expectation high when we arrived. Just beside the beautiful Kakusenkai Ravine, the entrance to the ryokan is certainly impressive, with two...

The location and the rating of the hotel made us to give it a try. Every thing went well, we paid extra and got a penthouse room on the top floor with private onsen. The room even came with a small rock garden and a massage chair. Room was huge with 270 degree view of the nearby creek, mountains and...

A number of ryokans and ryokan hotels in Kaga Onsen area offers a comprehensive list of services, perks and facilities. I was skeptical of it at first, wondering if this meant a reduction of quality. Fortunately, my anxiety is met with relief. Kissho Yamanaka, while a little dated, delivers. The service and hospitality was excellent which makes the entire stay...

We stayed two nights in a room with a private hot spring bath on the balcony and a massage chair. The room was lovely and the hot springs were nice but the food was amazing. We had traditional Japanese breakfasts and one dinner at Chihiro and one dinner at Aotake. Both were excellent. We took the free shuttle bus from...

Extremely nice Hotel ! Exceptional staff. Very friendly and accommodating ! The facility was amazing clean. Food was Great ! Rooms were spacious and even had a lifted bed. The Hot Springs were best in the World. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel welcome while still maintaining Japanese tradition which is also amazing.

It is a high end hot-spring hotel but it's definitely worth every single penny that you pay. Lobby is huge with personalized check in done by getting you seated comfortable with a welcome drink. Room is clean with huge windows overlooking the scenery outside. Our western-style room comes with private bathtub complete with all the amenities. Their public hot-spring bath...

My husband and I had a wonderful 4N stay on 24 Mar 2015 at this lovely ryokan. It was supposed to be 6N but we ended up with the last 2N at their sister hotel "Kagari". After having experienced both ryokans, we still prefer Kissho esp the lobby. Over the years, we have experienced stays in more than 12 Japanese...

At the beginning of this June, I went to Yamanaka -ONSEN, which is one of the main hot-spring areas in Kanazawa prefecture, to celebrate my mother's birthday. After checking reputations of visitors, I decided to stay at Kissyo-Yamanaka Japanese-Style Inns. I know my mother likes a spacious nice room to relax, so I chose the room with an open-air hot...
