I loved the game drive, but probably the best part was just watching the watering hole late at night and early in the morning. I also loved seeing the colobus monkeys around. What a peaceful and beautiful experience.

Staff and management did everything to make us feel ok, lodge is well equipped. They organised transfer from Dakar. Lion walk is literally once in a lifetime experiance ... :P Would go and do stuff again. Thank you!

Amazing experience. Lovely rooms in an amazing location, all you could hear was birds and monkeys. Food was good and having a drink while watching the animals roam around was very special. Pool was perfect for cooling off! Game drive was great and the guide was very knowledgeable.

Excellent, relaxing and very well looked after. Watering hole was hard to tear yourself away from in the evening. Tents were superb. Activities were well organised and staff were knowledgeable about the animals.

Amazing experience. The safari was super good. and the tents with the swimming pool in front of the animals are just a dream. There are animals everywhere, you are surrounded by the nature. It is a place where you can really switch off from your normal busy life. The food at the restaurant was also very good and the staff was polite, always available and friendly.

Fathala Lodge and Wildlife Reserve was the absolute highlight of our stay in Senegal. What an amazing place. The luxury Tents are positioned really well, to give you a sense of space and being at one with nature. Beautifully furnished and very well appointed. The main Resturant area looks out onto a lovely pool with loungers, to take in the view of the watering hole, which attracts all the animals for you to admire, which is breathtaking! We were lucky enough to see Rhino, Antelope, Warthogs, Giraffe, Monkeys, Zebras and a multitude of birds. We also booked a Safari, Bird watching walk and Walk with Lions experience, which is a "must do". On top of all this, the food at the Resturant was fantastic and we ate like Kings for six days. But what really makes this place so special, is the management and staff. We have been lucky enough to travel around the world a little bit, but honestly, you won't find a more professional, knowledgeable, kind and caring group of people than the team here at Fathala lodge and for which, we are most thankful. …

An oasis of wildlife and relaxation in what can be a challenging region in which to travel. The lodge staff and guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Special mention to Jolene who assisted us with on-line planning with the utmost kindness and professionalism! We did many activities (game drive and lion walk, island tour, bush walk and birding) and would recommend them all. The food was good quality and reasonably-priced (eg. 3-course dinner, 2 choices for each course, €30). We enjoyed the good bar selection to go with our dinner or sunset wildlife viewing on the deck overlooking the watering hole. The tent accommodations were spacious with good facilities and a small air conditioning unit. My one negative would be that af this price point, wifi should be free rather than €8/day. Very quiet location in the middle of the park. Luxury tents with a view of nature, also directly from the bed. Ideal for wildlife watching. Very kind and friendly staff. Stylish ambience. Large breakfast buffet and excellent meals. You don't see as many animals as in Bandia Park, as it is more sparsely populated. Only the attendants of the Lion walk are a quite unfriendly and it is in some ways a tourist photo tour, but an exciting experience anyway.

We had the most amazing time at the lodge. The accommodation is great, considering you are in the middle of the reserve. The staff are wonderful; attentive, friendly and so helpful. The activities that we took part in (game drive, bush walk, lion walk, island visit) were all fantastic and have left us with some of our best ever holiday memories. Huge thanks to Juanita and her staff who made our visit very special. We will be returning!

I’d like to give them 10 stars if possible! If you are visiting the reserve for a day trip and heading back the same day after the safari YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I don’t want to ruin the surprise but dinner time was an unexpected unforgettable experience. The rooms are phenomenal, the staff beyond helpful and really a magical place in the world.
