From the moment we first walked through an uninhabited tropical forest on Phu Quoc Island and discovered a pristine beach in a secluded coral bay boasting panoramic views across the Gulf of Thailand, we were inspired to create Green Bay Resort. We immediately had a vision of an eco-conscious, five-star boutique resort that nurtured the natural beauty of one of the secluded Vietnam beaches. Our goal was to develop a world class resort in Phu Quoc without disturbing the island’s enchanting, rustic aura. Our luxurious lodgings incorporate natural and sustainably-sourced materials while featuring all of the modern amenities that guests would expect from a superlative boutique holiday experience . Every day you will see a team of gardeners carefully maintaining the bucolic beauty throughout the resort. Each and every detail throughout our resort – from the serene setting of our spa through the restaurants and to the infinity pool bar that overlooks a pristine shoreline and the turquoise waters of a coral fringed-bay, guests will appreciate how Green Bay Resort strives to protect its most precious asset: the natural beauty of Phu Quoc Island.

Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort & Spa has garnered acclaim for its extensive amenities, including pristine accommodations and a host of water-related activities. Guests appreciate the spacious, well-maintained rooms with unique touches like outdoor baths. While the resort's location is a bit secluded, many find the tranquility and prompt transportation services to be a plus.
The attentive staff receives high marks for their service, although some have experienced slower restaurant service. While the resort is considered pricey, especially dining and spa services, the overall serene atmosphere and cleanliness contribute to its value.

We booked our stay at The Green Bay Resort to relax after a busy couple of weeks touring in Vietnam. It has been perfect. From the moment we arrived at the reception we were looked after by the friendly and helpful staff. We'd booked a Green villa which had everything we could have wanted, including an outdoor shower which I loved. The villa was spacious with a great bed. We ate at both restaurants during our stay and the food at each one was very good. The resort is beautifully kept in keeping with its green credentials. The swimming pools were large, but the sea was an even greater lure. Warm turquoise water. Perfect. The resort is special because of its staff. The general manager Cindy is always around chatting to residents. The restaurant staff, the pool staff, the gardeners and the cleaners are always lovely and friendly when you meet them giving the resort a special feel. I would love to think that one day we would come back!

We just got back from a week at the Green Bay Resort & Spa in Phu Quoc. This was the last leg of of journey in Vietnam after having traveled from north to south during an intense roundtrip. I specifically picked the hotel for its great reviews, the beautiful beach water, the eco friendly focus and its remote location figuring we’d be in need of doing nothing after a hectic week. The hotel didn’t disappoint, everything was above our expectations. The staff is attentive, nice and friendly. Yes, there were times where we had some communication issues due to language barriers but given the young age of this destination, I’m sure it’ll get better over time and with a few repetitions, things get sorted out as along as one wants it to. This might be bother travelers expecting everyone to speak English at all times, then more established locations might be a better choice. I thought it only added to the charm of a developing tourist destination, the kindness and willingness to help outweighed everything else.
We had great breakfasts with fresh fruits, dinner was served at two restaurants, where the Vietnamese restaurant Gio was amazing, the other one offering more Western food alternatives. Afternoon tea is served which could be a nice break from the beach.
We got ourselves a session of Vietnamese massage with was amazing, so meditative and relaxing. The sunsets from the Tiki Lounge area were splendid.
The beach was beautiful and peaceful, no music was being played. While the rest of the island struggles with garbage exactly everywhere, the Green Bay staff cares for their resort deeply and cleaning was being done around the clock, both on and outside the beach area.
We hired a driver twice to get to various beaches and Duong Dong which was great, he was driving carefully and was overall very attentive.
We only have two comments, the first thing being our AC that was located very high up and it was always quite hard to turn it on/off as it wouldn’t get the signals of the remote control. The second thing was that we were told that we were to be offered a bottle of wine after having stayed 5 nights, this never happened. No big deal, but it’s all about expectations management at the end of the day.
We would highly recommend this gem of a hotel if you are looking for complete relaxation, good beach water, friendly staff, beautifully designed rooms and hotel area and I could go on but will leave it there :)
Thank you very much for a terrific end to our unforgettable trip to Vietnam. Cảm ơn!

Pros
We stayed in the ocean pavilion with a private pool. The room was really beautiful! Clean & spacious with nice views of the bay and the private pool was bigger than we expected! The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained and because all the rooms are villas or bungalows it retains that boutique feel. Breakfast selection was fantastic: egg station, pancakes, Vietnamese noodle soup, fresh croissants, a good fruit selection and cheeses. I also enjoyed the Vietnamese coffees each morning (they also offer cold drop coffee, American coffee, hot chocolate, tea & juice). Vietnamese food from Gio restaurant was enjoyable: particularly the lotus salad.
Cons
Insufficient information was provided at check in. For example, they offer a complimentary afternoon tea at 3pm each day which we only discovered by mistake! There is no map provided in the room, nor is there a spa menu. You have to walk (or catch a buggy) to the spa to see what treatments they offer. The hotel does provide room service but the menu is very restricted (and predominantly western food). The one time we ordered room service, it took 40minutes and was cold by the time it arrived. Unfortunately the staff would not provide cocktails to our room: only beer or wine. This was disappointing considering we’d booked the private pool villa with the intention of relaxing there all day!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but you don’t quite get that 5-star resort experience.

A 5 star hotel for us!
The layout of the hotel is large and there are more than enough areas to dine, lounge or relax.
We loved our beachfront rooms and the serenity of the hotel. The rooms are beautiful. Natural bamboo, minimal furnishings and and outdoor and indoor shower, along with an outdoor bath.
Both restaurants served nice food and we chose to est more at the vietnamese restaurant to enjoy more local dishes.
I recommend the infinity pool be for adults only as families tend to have the beach area and pool closer to the western restaurant. It's a much quieter and intimate part of the resort which is great!
Pick up, drop off and arrangements also great.
The tiki bar for sunsets and low key evenings are also good and relaxing. We often came to watch the sunsets in the evening and it was great!
Highly recommend!

Xin chào markanthonyj2018, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your valuable thoughts with us. We are very glad that you love our beachfront bungalow. It is one of the most sought after room in our resort. Most of our furniture are made on site by local craftsmen using recycle woods available during construction, thus it adds to the rustic charm of all of our rooms. It is joyous to know that you also enjoyed our Food and Beverage service. We believe that dining is an important ingredient to a perfect holiday, hence Food is always a highlight at Green Bay, especially our new Vietnamese restaurant, Gió. It has only been operated since October, but has become a star for many of our guests. A tiki sunsets at our Coral Bay lounge is something to experience. Thank you for your review and hope to welcome you back in the near future. Warm regards, The Green Bay Team

The Every time I travel in Phuquoc,my family and I stay at this resort.Greenbay phuquoc resort is located at the bay of the pearl island phuquoc,The resort is very spacious, the space here is designed in harmony with nature. The rooms here all have a very beautiful view of the seaview and in the morning you can see the sunrise to easier on your bed. Each room type will have different unique designs. The large communal balcony gives you space to relax and enjoy the view. The resort has very good customer service. This resort is wonderful, but it really has some flaws which need to be sorted out in order to become a dream place to stay.
The goods: the place is immaculately kept. Every leaf found will be removed, the beach is even being kept clean of everything that is either washed ashore or falls down. Bungalows are big and very clean as well.
Now the points for improvement. Staff really needs to be trained on their English. They are trying, but it is just very poor which sometimes results in quite annoying misunderstandings. Everyone is super nice but sometimes a little bit of extra communication is necessary. As an alternative some management viability wouldn’t hurt. To help out in case of miscommunication.
The next pointb of improvement is flexibility. 2 examples: the resort does not offer any diving excursions, but did provide me with the name of a diving school which was fine. However I was told I was not allowed to bring a towel from the resort. I told the diving instructor who said that all resorts normally allow you to bring a towel.
Another example: i booked a massage. The massage was for 30 minutes, but i asked if it could be 45 minutes. I was told no: only 30 or 60 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment: nobody was there before me, so no clue why it could not be 45 minutes.
Lastly the food for me was not of the quality i expect from such a resort. Also there is no shuttle bus to town so you have to take a taxi if you want to go there.

After a month touring Vietnam this was the cherry on top - 6 nights booked on a remote beach resort on the south west of Phu Quoc, the largest island off the coast of Vietnam, closer to Cambodia and well known by tourists. We were anxious about this because we chose our accommodation entirely of Google, but it delivered. You can see from Google earth that this resort is in the centre of a jungle on the beach, nothing else nearby.
This resort is gorgeous and spotless. We have a huge bamboo bungalow looking directly out to sea we called our Jungalow. The accommodations are carefully spaced so you feel you have real privacy, and yet to the right and left are restaurants, huge warm pools, sunbeds and gardens.
Again they are just 30% full and the staff are struggling. Their English is so poor its hard to order a simple meal. Even "water" didnt translate. On our fist night a new member of staff took our orders and brought mains and starters all at once. By the time we ate the starter the main was cold. The Manager came to see what was wrong and touched the food with his bare hands and asked if I wanted it microwaved. Nice. Waitress couldn’t understand water even on Google translate. Prawns don’t come with finger bowls. Tea is undrinkable with sweet milk and weird teabags. (Bring your own!) BUT we have a very efficient butlers on What App, and the rooms and site is faultless. Breakfast is rather poor and proper coffee costs extra. I had the worst pedicure I’ve ever had, which although the spa site is gorgeous and in the gardens festooned with muslin, the miserable woman who works there showed me in to a back room which resemble a tortunre chamber, put my feet in a small dog bowl and did a shoddy file and paint. Nobody serves you at the pool you have to go in to order and if you wonder where all the plastic is coming from look no further. We were supplied with 6 bottles of single use plastic on a daily basis.
We decided to take a trip in to Duong Dong, the main town, which according to google has some great shops. Again we were disappointed. The streets are dangerous, they smell, the night market lacked charm and the stalls were full of the same touristy rubbish nobody wants. We ate in the market watching plastic float down the smelly river and made it back to the hotel fast.
We loved the design and setting of the hotel and overlooked all the small niggles with the staff. 6 nights was probably 1 or 2 too many because there just isn't the variety on the menu or the spa, but perhaps peak season there is more on offer. They could do yoga and offer a few on-site activities, but we really liked it and will try to come back.

Xin chao Nashes_5 We are very sorry to read your feedback, and we appreciate you taking the time to do so. Your feedback has inspired us to re-train the staffs, contingency plans for situations, improving service quality, upgrading facilities. We mistakenly believed we were making the best decisions to improve your stay, but this was badly communicated and we can now see that this made you feel unhappy, that was not our intention at all. Visitors to our local island are absolutely vital and key to our success. Our sincerest apologies and we hope you'll be back soon so we can make up for you. Respectfully, Green Bay Team

What an incredible place! We stayed in a bungalow (79) with our own private pool and view of the sea. It felt totally secluded and a place that you could totally relax. The only issue we had ( but Im not sure the resort could do anything about) were the fisherman who were working literally most of the day and night right outside. Sounded a lot like a load of helicopters flying past and lights flashing etc. The decor is fab and everything has been well thought out. It was also spotlessly clean! We did not use the outside bath and or shower as it was rainy season and after the rain there were numerous insects etc and stuff that had fallen off the trees/bushes on the paths etc. The wine in the room was quite expensive for what itbwas - so we just vsiited a wine shop when we were out. Much better wine and prices. The small bottles of water are complimentary but the larger ones are to be paid for. This seems to be standard in Vietnam wherever we stayed but odd given we need the water to drink and to clean teeth etc!
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and as the resort is quite big they provide electric buggy collection and drop off if you ask. The breakfast was OK - eggs cooked how you like them and coffee ordered at the table. A good range of other breakfast items too. We had a meal included and I'd say the two menus are OK but limit what you can get when staying for longer periods. It might be worth considering changing these a bit for guests who stay longer. The bbq was an additional cost but as they realised I wasn't well and didn't eat much they dis not charge me. A good range of seafood and other meats to choose from. My husband's plate got 'lost' at the bbq station so we waited a while and he had to go back to choose again! Parts of the beach/sand look a bit dirty as you walk along from the main section to the other pool and bungalows but I'm not sure if this was due to the low number of guests etc as there were many people maintaining the grounds and the rest of the place appeared immaculate.
The occasions when we did go to the pool by the other restaurant (which was closed throughout) there was not a soul in the pool and or area so it was great. No rush for sunbeds here! We did see a small snake and plenty of geckos/butterflys/snails and birds... so it appears to be a haven for these animals.
We hired a scooter and the lobby arranged for this to be delivered /collected. Really cheap and easy way to get around the Island. 200vdn per day and it was so cheap to fill the tank - less than £2 - so much cheaper than a taxi.
Some of the paths get exceptionally slippery when they are wet and my husband had a fall down the stairs. Luckily no damage done, but just be careful of this as most people are wearing flip flops and sliders which were not the best choice when it rained but clearly the preferred option given the immense heat and humidity!!! The staff were quick to help and made sure he was OK - but please be careful!

This was a really nice stay. We booked the beach bungalow with sea view. The room is really nice and very clean. The whole resort was well maintained and kept clean. Food and drinks are pricey compared to the rest of Vietnam. The only insane thing is, in the restaurant they charge you 60k dong for a small bottle of water, while you get them in your room for free every day.
Staff is very friendly, but not so good in English. So most of the time they don’t understand you.
We read in the reviews that kayaks were free. But this isn’t the case. You had to pay 100k dong for 30 minutes.

Xin chào 19RobinS88, Thank you very much for staying with us at Green Bay Phu Quoc and taking your time to share your experience here. It is a great pleasure for us to read that you were able to fully enjoy your vacation. And it is correct that the prices for drinks here are a bit higher if you compare to the general Vietnam, but our prices are in the same range as other 4 star resorts in Vietnam. And it is also correct that we give in kayaks and stand-up boards free of charge in the pre-season and charge a small fee for them from the main season (from November), as is the case elsewhere. We will also work daily on the English skills of the staff in order to continuously improve them. Vietnam is still a young travel destination with a difficult language for both sides. We definitely will continue to work on providing excellent service for all of our guests so that you can really relax and unwind in the Green Bay. Our entire team would be very happy to welcome you on your next vacation in Phu Quoc at Green Bay. Warm regards, The Green Bay Team

Even if not a 5 I will definitely repeat if ever around the island. We had the bungalow with private pool and that was just WOW. Calm and relaxed atmosphere all around.
Due to low season visit, some services were down - lounges, bicycles and some activities.
The restaurant is rather expensive compared to what Vietnam offers (small bottle of water 69k vnd), and I might be picky but there is plenty of room for improvement. Moreover, one single restaurant for 3 meals a day for 3 days… becomes a bit annoying. So we rented a bike and went down to the town.
Personnel did their job. You can contact them on whatsapp and a caddy would take you anywhere. However I felt them very distant. Their english was very limited, just the 2 guys at the reception would speak, but none at the restaurant or around the facilities.
Nevertheless, the place is just awesome and offers enough to distract you (tennis, kayak, paddle surf, and when opened: spa, yoga, billiard…)
