#1 of 2 B&Bs / Inns in Lafare
In the heart of the Provence, 30 km northeaster of Avignon, in the rolling landscape of the Lafare vineyards, among the limestone cliffs of the Dentelles Montmerail and at the foot of Ventoux Montex lies our b & b ' le Grand Jardin'. It is a beautiful area with cozy villages like Beaumes-de-Venise, Vacqueras, Luberon, Gigondas and famous Grenache vineyards. We propose you the 5 Provencal style rooms, each has own terrace and garden; a real haven of tranquillity! Dinner is usually served out on the terrace so you can admire the views long into the evening, whilst savouring the cuisine.

This is the second year I have stayed - first time, I enjoyed it so much, I decided I had to take my wife and friends along, too - and am so pleased I did. The staff - and Gwladys, in particular - are just wonderfully friendly and helpful with everything we asked for or about. My room was clean, large and very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the location is absolutely beautiful. We were all very sad when we came to leave!

I am surprised that there are not more reviews for this lovely little gem of a place. We spent 8 nights here in May. Le Grand Jardin is owned by Nathalie, but the day to day running is currently done by Gladys, who spoke very little English but was brilliant at understanding our rather mangled French. She is friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour: a wonderful lady. The place runs like clockwork. The rooms are spotlessly clean when you arrive and are maintained to that standard throughout your stay. Gladys makes the most wonderful cakes which are served between 4 and 5pm with tea/ coffee each day (I believe that this special offer, included in the price of your stay, may be for 2019 only). Breakfast is superb, with fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, lovely preserves, fresh bread, cereals, yogurts, and eggs cooked to your liking. On nice days it is taken on the terrace. Gladys even did our laundry for us, returning everything clean, dry and neatly folded the same evening. The rooms are set in the pretty garden and there is a very clean pool, little more than a plunge pool, with sun-loungers and clean towels beside it. Each room also has their own sun-loungers . The rooms are pretty; rustic in terms of furniture but our bathroom (room1) was very modern and everything in it worked very well. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Lafare is a tiny place but has a nice bistro with well-cooked French food just a couple of minutes’ walk away. We also found several other very good restaurants in the neighbouring towns and villages. We enjoy walking and found the surrounding area excellent for this with a variety of different walks through vineyards, woodlands, and pretty little villages.

We stayed here a week. All rooms are set in the garden. Our room was very clean with an amazing walk in shower. We had our own table and chairs just outside also a couple of loungers for our own personal use. We also had a ceiling fan and air con should we need it. Breakfast had fresh fruit salad, croissants, bread, ham and cheeses. We could also have eggs on request. We ate there 3 evenings and could not fault the excellent food although there was no choice. The 3 course menu was displayed at breakfast for you to order for the evening at a cost of €29. There are amazing views from the rooms. There is also a small pool for a dip on hot days. Lafare is very small but there is another bistro just across the road. It would have been nice to have a small fridge to keep our water cold and maybe a kettle to make hot drinks although Natalie was more than happy to supply a tray if you asked. Would stay again without a doubt if we visited the area again

Nice place and very good service. We spent 5 days for cycling in this beautiful area with the Mont Ventoux as cycling highlight. From Lafare you can cycle in three directions. There are several restaurants nearby.
