The Highbullen Hotel is a traditional country house hotel set in rural surroundings. We stayed in one of the rooms away from the main hotel building in the 'Gardeners Cottages' which had apparently (according to a member of staff) recently been renovated. The standard of the room was good - equipment was all working, the room and bathroom was spotless!... More

Quirky and quintessentially English gem. Stayed for three nights with children, parents in law and dog. Loved the location, great facilities and super helpful charming staff. Don't bother with the local pubs, the food is better at the hotel and good value too. Stayed at the dog friendly rooms at the bottom of a small hill, very spacious with stunning... More

We stayed at the Highbullen with an excellent voucher from Travelzoo, this included £60 towards your food, 2 nights accommodation, tennis, use of the pool and a bottle of prosecco. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The 2 restaurants serve good food and a good selection of wine. I can recommend the feature rooms and we... More

First, let me say that I did not stay at the hotel, but I definitely would if I was visiting Devon again. I came across it quite by accident, when staying in a holiday cottage in Chittlehampton. I arrived with raging sciatica and was at my wits end with the pain. I googled spas with massage in the area and... More

We recently visited this wonderful hotel for the second time and hopefully will visit again. It's a beautiful old house with a warm mellow feeling about it, we upgraded and stayed in the Louis seiz room in the main building, a very light, spacious room with fabulous views from the large bay windows. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, good... More

Superb setting in wonderful Devonshire countryside with views to die for. Fabulous room, with excellent service from all members of staff. Definitely fine dining in the Dartmoor View restaurant, and their bistro bar also provided first class fare. The golf course is interesting if a bit compact. We did not use any of the other facilities which ranged from indoor... More

Just returned home from a two night break at Highbullen. Have absolutely no complaints. The rooms very comfy, the food in the restaurant delicious and the golf fun. The well maintained house set in a very peaceful setting and the staff could not be more helpful. Will have no hesitation recommending Highbullen to friends.

Lovely relaxed hotel. We had an unexpected upgrade to the spacious Exmoor room with pleasant views across the valley. Food was excellent with good service. Plenty of sitting areas around the grounds if you don't feel like venturing far, with lovely views of course. So many places to sit and relax inside the hotel too which added to the relaxed... More
