We have visited this hotel several times and know how diligently they are observing current Covid guidelines. Hubby decided we deserved a one night treat as we are quite local and in the same tier. On arrival we discovered that owing to very recent Covid guideline changes the hotel had lost much of its bookings for that night and we were in fact the only guests in the main hotel (although others were elsewhere on site) and that we were the only people booked into the restaurant. Despite that sad fact, all the staff made our stay special and as we have observed before, nothing is too much trouble for them. No detail was lacking although we were the only two to enjoy it. Thank you everyone at Highbullen and we hope it is not too long before we return.
Just the one one night on board - the Loft Suite. The hotel is managing the CV19 restrictions and aligned mitigation measures very well indeed. The infrastructure and cleanliness of our suite was perfect. It really is a nice and welcoming place to stay. Breakfast crispy bacon: the best I've ever eaten. I will be back.
Just spent 4 days at the Hotel, first visit, looks a lovely place on arrival, hotel looking quite tired in general, in need of investment. Our room was meant to be deluxe standard, more like a standard compared to other Hotels we have stayed at, the bathroom was in need of replacing particularly the shower unit, very poor water pressure. The Leisure centre was closed which was a shame as weather some days was not good. Played golf which was the main reason for our visit, quite a short course and similar to the Hotel, in much need of investment and care, also far to wet to play so we abandoned golf. Now the food, WOW, WOW, the food was absolutely fantastic, the standard was of the highest we have eaten, on first evening we had Pork Fillet, very tender delicious meal, also Sirloin Steak from a local butcher, has to be one of the best Steaks I have had, Starters were amazing, Desserts were unbelievable, I could go on and on about each course. Only if the rest of the Hotel and facilities was of the standard of the food, what a Hotel this could be. The staff were friendly and efficient, also we felt very comfortable with the Covid controls throughout the Hotel…
We had a small intimate wedding breakfast and overnight stays. The rooms and views are lovely, the food superb and the staff so friendly and accomodating. Despite the restrictions we felt welcomed and looked after!!
went to the highbullen hotel to play a round of golf £20 per person which is cheap for a 18 hole course ,the course was very wet almost unplayable in places but its a very good course the only thing that will stop me going back is the fact that you cant get a drink or food unless you are a guest .after playing 18 holes it would be nice to be able to get a bite to eat and a drink as its a long way around took us 5 hours to get around so would be nice to sit down and have a rest after you have finished . so i wont be going back which is a shame as the course is very good .
