I celebrated my 90th birthday with my family with a weekend at the Castello Sannazzaro di Giarole "period residence" and guest house.
We slept in comfortable and functionally renovated rooms for hospitality and created without distorting the style and spirit of the Castle.
A rich and carefully prepared breakfast welcomed us in the morning in one of the rooms
prepared, The old "Office".
To complete the pleasant stay, a guided tour of the complex, illustrated by the courteous host. It is an experience to offer to everyone, especially to those who know how to appreciate the beautiful and often hidden things offered by our regions.

We had a wonderful stay at this castle full of rich history and charm. The castle offers comfortable and very generously sized rooms. The breakfast was a delicious spread of sweet and savoury delights. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the beautiful gardens with very large old trees. We thoroughly recommend staying here and thank our very gracious host Giuseppe, the owner of the castle who runs the bnb, for his warm hospitality.

We stayed at the Castle one night for my boyfriend's birthday in the "apartment" room and it was a really pleasant two days. The castle and the rooms are very beautiful (as well as the breakfast being delicious and attentive to all needs and intolerances) but the thing that struck us most was certainly the Tour of the Castle in all its beauty and its fascinating centuries-old history. A truly interesting, special and educational moment. We greet Giuseppe with pleasure and will definitely return!

We stayed one night at the castle and it was a fantastic experience. The visit to the castle is wonderful, it feels like entering another era. The rooms are large, spacious and spotless. There is attention to detail, hospitality and courtesy. And as if that wasn't enough, the breakfast is rich and delicious. Super recommended if you want to pamper yourself and live a unique experience.

We stayed for to nights in the castle. It is really much more than a hotel. Giuseppe is a very welcoming host who gave us a intimate, comprehensive and fascinating tour of his family home. The rooms were deliciously warm in a wet November and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was copious and generous.

We had a most delightful 5 days in the 12th century castle. The castle grounds has a lot to explore. Giuseppe hosted us with grace. The castle tour is definitely a must. Guest rooms are tastefully renovated with modern comfort. Sumptuous breakfast with fresh handmade pastries. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful with rolling hills and centuries old vineyards. Charming medieval towns are within an hour drive. The country roads are wonderful for biking. Milan, Torino and Genoa are 1.5 hour away.

We visited for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The Sannazzaro family is host. They provide an amazing breakfast with self-made pastry’s. Giuseppe Sannazzaro gave an extensive tour in perfect English and knows all about the history of the family and the castello.
There is Bike rental available and they can advice in the best restaurants.
For the best experience you’d need at least 2 nights.

In this age of hi tech, hard edge modernity with its pristine surfaces and minimalist colour charts, what a pleasure it is to have found an environment, not only blessed with the patina of age on its ancient brick facades but also to find at almost every turn, an item of furniture, a painting, a fresco, a modest tiled floor, all of which come together to make Castello Sannazzaro a unique environment that basks in its own history. Combine this with a comfy and generous sized double bed, a sumptuous breakfast and a genial and gregarious host and you will find you have enjoyed the ultimate B and B experience. we will return - hopefully many times.
